Check with your insurance. It's all up to them and the stipulations the employer has put on the policy. This isn't up to the surgeons office. -

Another one in the medical field....I have been a RN for 10 yrs in Mississippi. Pre op still!!! Seems like surgery will never get here. Sept 13th is my final visit in the 6 month dr supervised diet. I also am doing all of my pre op testing and my pre op class that same day. Then we will be submitting to UHC for approval. A tentative surgery date for the end of sept. I know it's not that far away now, but it has taken so long to get here. I feel like I won't believe it's happening until I wake up from surgery. Been trying to get here for over a year. Why are there so many nurses in need of this surgery? -

Can you say second opinion? Yeah that is what you should do. You don't have to submit this doctors eval. Find someone else. -

That is terrible!!! So sorry that has happened to you. I have no out of pocket or deductible. Fortunately, my plan pays 100% for the sleeve as long as we use a network doc and a center of excellence. I only pay my copayment when I see my surgeon. I am so amazed at the differences in plans through the same insurance carrier. -
Can't see any of that on the app with iPhone or iPad. Lots of us use the mobile app and can't see any of the profile info. So we never know unless someone else puts it out there. Wish they would fix it so we could see more info on the app.

And do not eat the uncooked ramen noodles....bad for you!!!

Do you have a diet plan? That has detailed lists of what you can and can't have? If you do not I can email you several. All of them say do not eat these kinds of foods. I honestly think its more about you crying out for help. Hun, have you had any counseling? I think you are looking for the old comfort foods to make you feel better. PM me and I can send you those plans if you want. I think you need to seek professional advice though. Counseling. You need to talk to someone.

Why would anyone who has just taken their life into their hands gone under the knife and had WLS eat ramen noodles raw or cooked? I mean if your really taking the surgery and lifestyle changes seriously. The rule no rice, no Pasta, no bread, Low carbs or at least healthy carbs while in wgt loss phase. Didnt you get that in your instructions for weight loss. I know it's stated in mine several places. So I thought surely it's a joke. But I guess not....to each there own. But be careful.

You have got to be kidding me!!! This is a joke, right?

I spoke to someone last week they said they have 14 days to respond to your request for surgery. She said the turn around should be quicker now that their busiest time of the year is passing (summer).

You can take Prilosec twice a day. If that doesn't help call your doc for a prescription PPI.

Unfortunately, my PCP did not keep great notes. She had note wgts and hadn't made enough notes about my wgt at all. So had to start from scratch on that. But it's all gone great no issues and I have seen the nutritionist and gotten to know my surgeon really well over this time. It has been a great experience and I feel I am very well prepared for surgery and post op. I feel it will make transitioning in to a new healthier lifestyle much easier. The worst part of this has been stressing over the part of the insurance company. It feels like the hold our lives in their hands. Hope it goes well for you and your headed to the losers bench soon!!! Good luck!!! Let us know what happens... -

I am also pre op. I have 2 visits left in a 6 month supervised diet. I have no idea why she would be requesting your file. I was told by April, my nurse, that they have 14 days to respond. I would definitely call Monday to find out what's going on. -

Traveling For Surgery

Because they don't have insurance that pays for wls or they have insurance and their insurance company has a long list of requirements and possibly a long wait.
