This Is Going A Little Too Well!
Cynthia S replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with everyone here. 4 weeks out - 30 lbs lost - no pain killers after day 2- no vomiting - only get nausea when I don't chew well enough. Back to the gym yesterday for a light workout. Things are going really well. I too have been concerned that something was wrong with me because I felt great. -

Sweet! I'm Diabetic!
Cynthia S replied to BrickHouse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sic told me there was a recent study done that links Type II diabetes with the use of statins for high cholesterol. I reviewed my records and found the diabetes was diagnosed about 6 years after I started the statins. -
My mini schnauzer did the same thing 8 days post op. I feel your pain.

Have You Lost Friendships/relationships Since Weight Loss?
Cynthia S replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be sad to lose those friend's that don't understand or agree with your choice. If they were true friends they would support you no matter their thoughts. Hate the game not the player. -
I worked for UT Health Systems in Dallas and they covered WLS but only after a long drawn out process. They would not approve me because my BMI was only 38 and my 2 comorbidities were controlled. I lost my job with them in Sept 2011, got a job in California and moved in Oct 2011. I was sleeved on 9/10/12 This job paid for 100% after I paid $3000 out of pocket. Everything has a reason. It is God's plan - not yours.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Cynthia S replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on the 10th. Stopped pain meds on day 3. Started walking 10 minutes 3 times a day on day 3. Have lost 17 pounds. Incisions are itching. I am on day 2 back to work and get really tired by 3. Just the idea that 17 pounds is gone is incentive enough to walk an extra 5 minutes 2 times a day. This is definite the best thing I have ever done. -

Check your daughter's tires. They may be dry rotted.

I had my surgery on Monday and came back the following Monday. I sit a lot so it isn't too bad. You will get pretty tired the first couple of weeks back.

If You Had The Choice - Would You Do It Again?
Cynthia S replied to Babysteppin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only 1 week post surgery. I am so glad I started working on the psych issues before surgery. My biggest challenge is the "head" hunger. Get the emotional issues out of the way before you do your surgery. I have already lost 25% of my total goal. I do think that being organized has helped me. It is easy for me to plan my meals and make sure I take things with me. Not so much for my friend who does everything on the fly. Just my 2 cents worth -
Thankfully I am not having to go to the Thrift shops yet. I am still shopping from my closet. Keeping those 4 sizes smaller has been a real positive for once.

The Isopure clear was great pre surgery. Post surgery, I can't even get it in my mouth. -
