I Have f**king Had It!
ready4change77 replied to sexy_sleevegirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello, Leticia - just wanted to let you know I know exactly how you feel... My 1st 2-3 week was the worse... My side hurt so bad I felt like I had been beat to death on my left side & I was hospitalized a week after surgery for de-hydration & of course the side pain... Water was hard, everything was hard b/c I had this stuck feeling w/ everything that went down, I'm still dealing w/ that but not as bad & I hope in another month it will be gone completely & I can eat like I did pre-op & I mean as far as the feeling of the food goin down, not the portions of course... I have had plenty of days when I wish I could go back to the day before surgery & say you know what I change my mind but I didn't so I have to deal w/ the choice I have made... Ik it's hard but you can do this, just take it day by day... Make a goal of getting your liquids in & then Protein - I still have an issue getting my protein in b/c eating is not pleasurable for me, it's like a chore but it will get better... Ik on some of my rants I just want someone to truly understand me & how I feel, not chastise me or speak to me all crazy so I'm here telling you honestly I been thru what you have been thru but it will get better & if you need to speak w/ the Dr & nurses please do it, they are there to help & guide you thru all this... I hope & pray you are feeling better now & know that you will have bad days but once the weight starts come'n off & you get your energy back you will feel better... Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Wow, that's fast - I hope you will do good... That's super fast - most @ least say 2 weeks or more but best of luck to you... Sent from my iPhone using VST

Girl I feel ya on that - I still have a week & 1/2 to go before I go back but for whatever reason I am dreading it & like you my emotions have been all over the place as well - everything lately seems to get on my nerves - probably b/c this eating things isn't goin as well as I want it to - scared I'm not getting my Protein in, I'm so over any Protein shakes - all of them taste nasty to me-ugh... Well hang in there, were only a month out as of yesterday so lets pray that another month from now we'll have a totally different better feeling... ????????☺???????? Sent from my iPhone using VST

@NG I think I might have that same issue w/ chicken as well - the eggs I do fine hard boiled & soft scrambled but the other day I fixes a taco bake w/ ground beef, cheese & etc which was so good & it went down fine & didn't feel sick.. Yesterday cooked chicken quesadillas b/c my daughter wanted them & I ate one triangle size piece & although it went down ok, after my tummy didn't feel so good but I wasn't just sick & didn't throw up or anything & then today I had Chickfila an original sandwich minus the bread & pickle - I ate almost the whole thing & again I felt even more bad - still feel weak in the stomach as I lay here... So I don't think I'll be eating chicken for a while either & I loved chicken before... Oh I swear some days I feel defeated & then other days I feel I can take on the whole world - lol... I'm looking forward to be'n 6months out & looking back & being like thank God I made it thru... Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Horrific Fried Chicken
ready4change77 replied to lash44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree w/ the above - even w/ no sleeve & you go a year w/ out eating any fried foods you would feel not so good... Maybe try in moderation, who doesn't love a good crispy piece of fried chicken but maybe a bite or 2 to see how it goes... Hope you feel better... Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Discouraged Tonight...
ready4change77 replied to DeterminedGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, do not be discouraged - I'll briefly give you my story... Starting weight was 242, I started 2 week liquid diet on Aug 29(yes I cheated but things like a piece of cheese here & there or either some deli turkey meat, nothing extreme) I did Atkins Advantage 4-5 a day & then crystal light religiously... Surgery day was Sept 12th & I weighed in @ 222 - tomorrow will be 1month for me & when I weighed last week(I try to only weigh myself on every Wed or Thurs) so this past Thursday I was 211.... Minor but felt major complications was I was re-admitted to the hospital the following Wed after surgery for dehydration & my left side hurt really bad from the incision which is the side they do the most work on & pull the section of the stomach out... I was in for a few days & came out feeling hydrated but my side still gave me trouble... I have used a heating pad on it Wed since & it has decreased the pain way down-it's almost gone... I have been off work a month tomorrow & will go back on the 24th... I also was having a stuck feeling when I ate or drank but that has gotten better, can drink sometimes almost gulp(not advised) but it doesn't bother me... You can do it, just take it all day by day, you'll be fine... This site is great & everyone here is helpful... Have faith in yourself, if you don't do good one day, there's always tomorrow...
