Whataburger has grilled chicken. Otherwise keep a protein bar in your purse and avoid fast food entirely (a huge adjustment I've had to make for myself). Good luck, I know it's not easy.

Haha. I agree. Not a fan of all if the commercials and stuff. But his skill and staff more than make up for all of that. His practice and people are amazing. -

In Tears..overly Fearful..
kymbo replied to steelergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cried the week before. The day before. And the day of my surgery. The jitters are completely normal! I was sleeved on 10/23 and haven't looked back since. Good luck to you! You'll be fine! -
October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
kymbo replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved 10/23. Feeling pretty good! Down 18 lbs since pre-op Full liquids for another 2 weeks. Not even close to getting in my protein and water. There's not enough room in my sleeve and not enough hours in the day, but I'm sure Ill get there. So far I'm so glad I've chosen this journey. -

Sounds like sleeve suicide! (But I'm only a week post op and still on full liquids). -

I'm not sure if its the same...but I use Jay Robb whey protein. I enjoy all of the flavors. I add a tbsp of sf white chocolate pudding mix to the strawberry and its delicious. -

I was sleeved yesterday, too. The breathing meter is definitely not my favorite. I'm being kept another night, as I'm not able to get my liquids in I'm grateful that I don't have awful gas pains or pestering nausea. Hope everyone is resting and healing well! Back to sip sip sip, walk walk walk! -

Ladies Who Are Around 5'1 (Short)
kymbo replied to tqmeri30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5.0. Highest weight 196. Im 4 days into my protein shake only pre op diet. Surgery scheduled for 10/23. I'm down 10lbs which is great, but I put myself on a pre-pre-op diet so that my body wouldn't go into shock when I quit eating "the good stuff" I was reckless with my eating habits right after I found out Aetna approved my surgery and I'm really paying for it now. Best wishes to my petite (love to start using that word) sleevers! -
Dr David Kim Colleyville

I don't see anyone bent outta shape. Your opinion just appears to be in the minority. I only see people expressing their opinion. I'm using Dr Kim. I'm NOT being "forced" to buy his shakes. I know others that weren't forced either. Best wishes and continued success to you and EVERYONE regardless of the surgeon and Protein shake of choice! -

Good for you! I was a nervous wreck while waiting on insurance approval. I often emailed Summar several times a week (bless her heart) and she was always so patient, encouraging and thorough with me. I hope you will be as confident in your decision as I am. Good luck!

Whew! Had to read that twice. Something about a guy "mooning" and walking through the halls threw me off at first. Hahahaha. Best wishes to ya. Ill high five ya if we pass eachother -
Dr Kim may not be outgoing and flamboyant. But that's not a prerequisite for being an excellent surgeon. I chose him because he is one of the best at what he does. His staff is quite friendly and helpful. I'm glad I chose him (thank goodness, cause its probably too late to change my mind if I want to get sleeved anytime soon) lol.

I'm with you Donny! I would really appreciate a 1 week pre-op, too! I sleeve with Dr Kim on 10/23 at Baylor Trophy Club. I did NOT have to buy his shakes so was sorry to read that someone felt they had to. Started my pre op diet two days ago. I'm not as miserable as I thought I would be. My cravings are the only thing bugging me right now...my hunger isn't an issue (thank goodness). Best wishes everyone -Kym -
I'm an October looser also. I'm scheduled for sleeve 10/23. Started my liquid (only) pre op protein shake diet two days ago. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The cravings are there, but no hunger I cheated by adding a banana to my shake yesterday morning, but if that's the worst I do I'm pretty proud of myself. Anyone else from DFW/Dr Kim? He's pretty great thus far.

Tomorrow starts my protien shake only 2 week diet. Had my food funeral last night so started the shakes a day early. Day one wasn't miserable Hoping I can keep my mind right for the rest of the two weeks. Surgery on the 23rd! Good luck and best wishes to all of my fellow October sleevers! -
Ever Feel Like Surgery Can't Come Soon Enough?!
kymbo replied to Babysteppin's topic in Rants & Raves
I'm scheduled for Oct 23rd. Time is going so slow. I'm sure when I start my 2 week liquid diet, the time will pass even slower. Lol. Id say to spend your last month waiting for surgery enjoying your favorite foods (in moderation, of course). Unfortunately I've gained 4 lbs because once I was assigned my surgery date I threw moderation out the window. I surely regret it, but am going to rock my pre op diet to try to make up for the past few weeks of poor eating. Good luck to you! -
