So I had the band for over two years and had to convert to the sleeve but I haven't been able to lose more weight. My presurgery weight was 243 and I've been 155for a year. I don't know what to do to lose more weight. I do protein shakes in the morning, a string cheese/almonds for snack, 1/4c of food for lunch and again for dinner, i eat healthy and small portions. Any help or suggestions???

I was 243 before the band which I got in nov2009 and the revision in feb2012. I don't track my food, I honestly don't have time, I'm a 1st grade teacher with my own little ones at home, I don't have a set excercise schedule right now because I'm so busy and drained. I'm on my feet all day and busy taking care of my girls when I'm home. I know i need to excercise more but I don't have energy for it,

Just add flavorless protein, I put mine in everything

This is hardest part of it, when I had the band I didn't have a choice bu to eat slow but now with the sleeve you can eat a lot faster. I hate sitting at a table and eating because it's so boring while u watch everyone shovel their food down. I like to take a bout 5 bites while they eat and then finish eating while I clean up or play on the computer or watch tv, anything to help distract me. What's even harder is trying to eat in. 20,in at work in front of coworkers that don't know I've had surgery. I never eat slow enough and I never feel good after eating, I want to lay down but I just push ur it I've become use to the discomfort and because I'll eat faster then I should I eat less about 1/4c

Truthful Regrets, Anyone?
crchappell replied to Tiff187's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I regret that I have this amazing tool to lose weight and I don't use it to its fullest, since it's so hard to eat in one sitting, I tend to graze all day, a shake takes me 3hours, I only get 30min for lunch but I eat 7/8 small bites and I'm starving 2 hrs later so I have a few bites of almonds, and then graze from the time I get home to bed, I'm hungry every two hours like clock work. My grazing makes me feel guilty like I'm overheating. I hope I'm not wasting away this great tool to lose weight, I can't get past 155 -
Any Regrets Losing The Band

It does feel good to have the freedom to eat fruit and veggies but they don't sit well in my stomach -
Banded X 5 Years = Tortured X 5 Years
crchappell replied to bindi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went from band to sleeve, I had all the problems u guys did, my band had slipped, I didn't want the sleeve tho cuz I still relied on my band to keep me in control and u have a lot more freedom with the sleeve, but overall I'm happy with it, I haven't lost anymore weight but it's keeping me at my current weight around 155. -
Any Regrets Losing The Band
crchappell replied to mzblacque's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was banned in 11/09 and got it taken out 02/12 and got the sleeve 05/12, I miss my band because it made me be so much more restrictive on what and how I ate, I was successful with it losing 90 pounds but I was very disciplined. I had problems from the beginning, I was always going in to have fluid taken out and still struggled with getting food down and not stuck, turns out the band had slipped big time, so out it came. The sleeve doesn't restrict the types of food I eat, like I can eat bread and pastas and they go down fine, I can eat faster and nothing is going to get stuck but I get full fast and usually only eat 1/4c at a time but I'm hungry every 2hours. Even with the problems of the band, I miss it because it made me control myself. -
Mine does the same especially at night when I'm laying in bed, I think it's funny.
