  1. The theatre in my home town is so old that the seats are tiny and you can't move the arm rests for more room. To get into the seats I would have to squeeze in and it was painful to squeeze past the armrests much less sit comfortably. These seats are so small that my fiancé who is not overweight is not comfortable in the chairs. We went to this theatre yesterday because we didn't have time to get to the bigger theatre before the movie started. Well, I was not only able to get into and out of the chair without rubbing against the armrests I was able to watch the movie semi-comfortably!! Granted I don't think anyone can sit in those chairs comfortably. But I actually had about an inch space on each side of me!! Happy dance!!

    Singing After Sleeved

I don't sing regularly unless u count alone in my car lol. I was able to sing a little about 2 weeks out but it hurt to take deep breaths. I also had a hiatal hernia repair during my sleeve. When I first started trying to sing my frog would come out a few times. (Frog=a weird sound that would come out randomly that sounded like a croak to me lol) I play the flute at my church every Sunday and the first time I tried to play, I had to stop mid song to catch my breath. That was at a couple days over 2 weeks. The next week I was out sick but the 4th week I could get through every song without much discomfort or shortness of breathe. I'm now 10 weeks out and play like I always have. It will take time for your body to adjust but use that breathing thing they give you at the hospital often and that will help build up your stamina again. Hope that helps.

    Nausea

I use Prevacid for the acid blocker it's over the counter. You can also get OTC Prilosec. As for pain meds I was on Tramadol for pain just after the surgery.

    Non Food Rewards

Loving your list!! Especially the dog! I guess for me it will be 50- new charm for my Persona bracelet. 75- new fish for my saltwater tank and maybe lights for it too. 100 - new wardrobe.
  5. Yeah still on Prevacid daily. I'm thinking its the full thing.. I stopped eating early tonight and it didn't do it. Will keep trying to find out
  6. It's not constant... Just lasts about 20 min after I eat.. Always the same intensity.. Not terrible but it reminds me it's there. Not gallstones bc they removed my gallbladder when I had the surgery. Thanks for the replies tho.. Any more are appreciated
  7. Ok so I've searched the forums for this but can't find anything. I am 10 weeks post OP and EVERY time I eat my right shoulder hurts like its gas pains, but I thought gas pains could only be on the left side?? I've mentioned it to my doc and they dismissed it quickly, but I don't know what to do about it if anything can be done... Suggestions welcome.
  8. I think it took me a good month to really get back in the swing of things. I didn't really start feeling like myself until the last couple of weeks, but my infection lasted for 6 weeks. I'm a teacher so I'm up and down a lot. If you have a desk job I think you'll bounce back fairly quickly. Just take it one day at a time.
  9. I had the repair with my sleeve. Surgery was 8/9 was back at work on 8/21... And even went in for a few hours before then. I was very weak but the pain was just about gone by week 2. I had trouble getting back into things but I also got a sinus infection the week I went back to work. You should be fine.. Just rest a lot and make sure to take your vitamins!! Start exercising as much as you can stand.. Walking helped me a lot even tho I didn't walk much bc of the infection.
  10. I've already had some alcohol.. Just sip and go slow. I had about half a margarita and was fine. Have fun in your trip!!

    Nausea

I had bad nausea 10 days out.. Doc gave me some Zofran and it helped some. I had the nausea for 6 weeks and its been maybe a week without it, but did feel the nausea again for the past couple days. Make sure you are taking Prilosec or Prevacid to keep stomach acid low.. When I didn't take mine the nausea was worse. Good luck and I hope you feel better!!

    Nyquil

My doc said to stay away from NyQuil. I had already had 1 dose and it burned my stomach pretty bad (just the feeling not an actual burn). The pharmacist suggested robituassin bc it's not as much alcohol and cheap so if I couldn't handle it I hadn't spent an arm and leg. It burned a little going down but was tolerable. This was 3 weeks out also. The doc said to stay away from any decongestant, but musinex w a cough suppressant worked pretty well also.
  13. Date sleeved: 8/9 Start weight: 256 Weight today: 213 What you eating and how much daily: mostly chicken.. But I do eat some carbs. Maybe around 800 cal a day Daily work out: none at the moment.. Have had a bad sinus infection that won't leave me alone. How hungery are you?: not really hungry. Head hunger at times. How you feel physically: doing alright.. Still weak from being sick How you feel emotionally: was pretty depressed for a while but it's getting much better. Are you glad you chose the sleeve?: yes I think so Anything extra to say?: don't develop a sinus infection just after surgery, especially when you are on auto immune to me capsules ..
  14. Only thing that bothers me is milk. cheese and yogurt are fine, but after a fourth of a cup of any milk I start to feel it. It really just sits funny.. Not really nauseous.. Just heavy in my stomach. The nurses told me it would get better with time. I am 9 weeks postop btw.
