Tortillas and bread. And let me tell you, and since I am Mex-American we eat alot of tortillas, or in my case used to eat. I have tried many times and always fail. Man, do I miss a good freshly homemade flour tortilla. Everytime I make them, I just salivate at my family enjoying them.

Come on seriously, we each need to take responsibility for ourselves. If it offends you don't read it. It is like those people that blame tv for their children's bad actions. Uhm, like hello, there is such a thing as turning the channel or turning the tv (or whatever, for that matter) off. Now really.. -
Marimaru, I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL. Enjoy your family. My husband is one of 14 children and for the past six years we take 3 wks to travel to Mexico to spend Christmas and New Year's with his family. Wow, between his bro's, sis's, & their spouses, kids, there are lots of people. But it is great, sometimes annoying, but great. And it is truly special to see the look in my MIL face to be surrounded by all her children and their families. I am kinda bummed that we might not get to go this year. Finances are tight since we moved into our dream home and that's that. I'm praying that my old home will sell and that we can take our trip, but it is looking grim.. It makes me really sad because the kids really look forward to this time. They love my kids so much. (My husbands family that lives in Mexico can't travel here so it is the only time of year we get to see them.) I get teary eyed just thinking about it.

Wow, I attended a Rotary lunch today and Thomas Monagham was our guest speaker. He is the former founder and owner of Domino's Pizza and former owner of the Detroit Tigers. He also founded and is the Chancellor of Ave Maria University, the newest Catholic University near Immokalee, Florida close to my home. What an inspiration. You have to google him and ready his story, he is amazing. I am so inspired, he came from nothing and has accomplished so much. Maybe someday my kids can attend that university. Just wanted to share.

here I am. So tell me, how is life? I'm doing great, still love my band. Some days life is great, other days I have my issues. Still trying to fight the fat monster. I reached goal of 135-137 about a yr ago and had been maintaining. I have put a tiny bit of weight on, but I'm back on my horse. We need all the older oldies to come back and share. Where is Delarla, Penni, Leatha, Christina and so many more? I need an older oldie reunion.

Well, I am feeling the blues because I am longing to have my family close to me. My family is in Texas and I can't enjoy the holidays with them. My brother lives in town but has to spend the holidays at his in-Laws and my husband's family, well they are just retarded.. No really, I would love to have a ton of family sit together and share a special meal.. I asked hubby if we were getting together with his family and he said he didn't know. I called some of my SIL's but they aren't sure what they are doing. So I'll probably just cook for my kids and husband. It will still be great, but I sure long for those crazy, loud family get togethers. It is really not about the food anymore, but about spending time with loved ones.

>Well, as an "oldie" (banded in '04), I come and go and hope that along the line I can get and offer encouragement. CoffeeWench was one of my inspiration persons when I began my band journey and I am so happy to see her posting. Still beautiful inside and out.

Yes, that girl has some strong willpower... That donut challenge was disgusting.. I will never be able to eat a donut again.. (or until I can get that image out of my head.) My dh walked in when I was watching and it made him mad.. He said, look at all that food they are wasting and there are so many people that go hungry every day, shame on them.. But hey isn't most television/movies that way? What I hate is when on an action movie they destroy a fancy Lexus or BMW.. makes me mad.

Please share.. I'm a fairly decent cook, I think?? But for some reason when I try to cook from a recipe it somehow never works for me.. If I experiment cook, I can come up with some awesome sauces and dishes.. but from a recipe, forget it... funny hugh?? -

OOOH, the only lasagna we eat at our house is Stouffer's.. can you send me some of that??? PLEASE... -
They are so fortunate to be there. They all are starting to look great. I want little Kay to win, but she is already small and will probably have to go home because the others will say she could finish on her own.

I have always wanted a tatoo but never could decide on what to get. Last week I almost lost my mother. Her name is Rosalinda. So I have decided to get 3 roses on the top of my foot or hip (still can't decide). Rosalinda means beautiful rose. And I'm getting three, because she had 3 kids and I have 3 kids.. What do you think?? She doesn't like tatoos, but I like them, my brother has 3 and she wasn't happy when he got them.. WEll, tell me, what do you think of my idea?? I know that roses are not very original, but tell me??

Let's not fight and go back to drooling about the fried lasagna.. -
Listen to them, they know what they are talking about. I was self-pay in Mexico, so I didn't have to deal with any of that.

I totally agree, make them sweep the streets, pick up trash, mow public parks, something.. to make them earn OUR hard earned money. -

That is what sucks about the system.. that it doesn't help those that are trying to help themselves. When I separated from my first husband, I had my eight month old baby girl and was so struggling to keep it going. Between mtg, car & daycare & the rest, it was so hard. I was working at a bank and made about $200 wk. I didn't have any money for groceries and went to ask for food assistance. They told me I made too much money and the lady suggested I quite work and then they could give me help.. Isn't that stupid.. I have a cousin that lives in Texas and knows how to work the system to the tee. He and his wife have 4 kids and don't ever work or very seldomly work. But they get free housing, food assistance, health insurance, you name it, they get it.. And somehow, they have the best of everything.. if you go to their house they have nice furniture, wear name brand clothes, have flat screens and shit up the wazoo.. How in the hell do these people get away with this.. What is sad, is that their kids see this and aren't learning to work hard for those things, no work ethic what so ever.. And two streets down from where I lived, there are some gov't homes (nice large 4 br/2 bath homes) that are subsidised gov't housing. One house always catches my attention when I passed by it. They have two brand new vehicles, a top of the line tahoe, and a Chrysler 300. And yes, they even have big fancy rims on them.. and there are always huge boxes of electronics out by the curb.. At christmas time they bought about 4 or 5 flatscreens.. Must be nice. You can't afford to pay rent but you can afford this??? Makes me mad.. Everything that my husband and I have is because we have busted our asses working for it (he more than I, of course).. But guess what, my kids see that and respect that and will hopefully be better, responsible adults because of that. -

I'm telling you it looked soooooo good. They had refrigerated cooked lasagna.. they cut it into squares, then they ran it through an egg wash and put some flour on it and then deep fried it.. I could have licked that tv set.. yummmy...
