I totally agree with what you say.

It is a shame that the schools have taken some extreme measures. And yes, sometimes they go too far. But they are only trying to protect our children. In todays society, we have elementary students taking weapons to school, we have kids having sex and using drugs. The times have changed and so the rules need to get stricter. I live in a small rural community, the town I live in is only of about 10,000, but even here we encounter these problems. Schools have to adopt these 0 tolerance policies because of all the problems that have come to be without them in place.

I don't or should say can't drink beer because of the carbonation. If I'm really craving one real bad, I have to pour from glass to glass to get rid of some of the carbonation.. Kinda like when your cooling off something. Wine is no problem or vodka with any sort of juice works great also.

I agree with you Phyllisc. From a parent that has three children, who are all different. My girls are excelling at everything they do. They are top of their class. They are doing awesome. Now my son, is smart as a whip like his sisters, but is strong willed. He wants to do what he wants when he wants. I as his mother, have a hard time with him. So can you imagine what his poor teacher's have to deal with. A child that refuses to do what you tell him and then throws tantrums.. It is not easy for his teacher.. And she has another 15 or more kids in the class to deal with. I as a parent have to take responsibility for my child and work with the teacher to teach him that it is not appropriate behavior. I could like so many parents get defensive or try to avoid it. But for what, who will suffer in the end. My son. Teacher's need to be commended for the work they do. As a parent, you have to be involved. Do your part. When I worked as an ESOL teacher to highschool kids, the parents that were involved were always the ones you didn't need to see. Meaning their kids were doing great, by chance?? I think not.. It was because their parents were involved. I make time to go to my children's schools, I go have lunch with them (yes, I eat school cafeteria food), I participate in the PTO, I help with fundraisers, I send treats for the teacher and the students.. I chaperone field trips.. which are not always so much fun...There are so many things you can do. Get involved, we are all busy, we all have jobs and tons to do. From my experience the uninvolved parents are always the fastest to pass judgement and what is sad is that they are not only failing as parents but they are failing their kids. And the pride my kids feel, when their mom is the one that sent some special stickers for the teacher to pass out, or the Cookies as a treat, or when I join them for lunch. Their smiles are priceless to me. Tell your children't teachers what a great job they are doing.. If they goof, their only human not super heroes.. talk with them, sometimes they are just little misunderstandings.. Don't make mountains out of mole hills. I think we have gotten too damn sensitive now a days.. you almost have to walk on eggsells to not hurt anyones feelings, be politically correct.. Don't take things to heart and you will be much happier.. Well, that is all I have to say..:clap2:

Oh a generator is a must here in Florida. We get hurricanes you know?? When we had those four hurricanes come through here, we had it good cause of our generator. Everyone sat without power and was miserable. We were able to watch tv, have our a/c running (a must in Florida), life as usual.. you must get one..

Well, if you must know the truth... I sometimes (not often) get a little jelouse of you all. Is it like in the movies?? Do you sit by the fireplace drinking hot cocoa?? Or better yet, make love to your mate by the fireplace?? Do you play outside in the snow?? I wish it would get a little cool here, I have tons of beautiful sweaters I could wear and jackets, too. I still have a gorgeous black leather jacket I bought with the tags on it... But then again, sitting by the pool, drinking margaritas is real fun too... stay warm and drink some hot cocoa for me...

I love the crowded malls, look forward to it every year.. Yeah, I know I'm nuts... I'm a true shopaholic, love to shop, live to shop... gotta touch it, gotta try it, gotta have it, then and there.. I do love to shop online, but the wait kills me..

I love Christmas. Because of our jobs, this is the only time of year that we can take a three week break and travel to Texas and Mexico and visit our families. My husband has a very large family in Mexico and they cannot travel over here. It is a great time for us, a time to take a break and be with our loved ones.

What beautiful memories. Christmas was always a wonderful time for me as a child. It still is. Lots of family, nice gifts and awesome food. I love Christmas.

No problem with salad, I just make sure I cut it small and then chew well, like all the other food.

I didn't vote because I didn't think any of the choices fit my criteria. My husband who is 6' 1 P was about 176 lbs when we met. He looked mighty fine. Tall, dark and very handsome. Over the ten years he has gained about 20 lbs, but he still looks fine. I still get goose bumps when he touches me. He loved me when I was a size 14 and he still loves me now that I lost my weight. But the best part is that I now also love myself.
