I feel bad for you, I had the same problem last week, I had a fill Wed, and couldn't keep anything down, I felt like I was going to choke on all the slime when I layed down. I was desperate to get an unfill on Friday, but since I have a three hour drive to the doctor and since he was in surgery that afternoon, I couldn't get an unfill. Well I decided to take control and relax.. I stayed on only warm liquids all Day Fri, and on Sat, and that did it, but it was rough on Friday night I thought I would choke during the night with all that sliming, but by Sat night I felt perfect, drank warm teas, and warm chicken broth, Sunday, I ate mushies and today I am doing mushies, its working... My surgeon suggested that any time one gets a fill it is necessary to treat it as if you just had surgery and do 3 days liquids 3 days mushies and then three days choppy food, and well chewed. I am feeling so much better, I thought I was dying last week, was really regreting getting the fill and even thinking if getting this band was the right thing. I am so glad I didn't get unfilled, I am doing so much better today. I wonder if being on or almost getting Aunt Flo has anything to do w/ how we react to fills, I started mine on Friday night, is'nt that just weird. On the good side I weighed myself today and I've lost 5-6 lbs since Wed., it was a heck of a way to lose them, but hey something good came out of it. I went from 1.2 cc's to 2 cc's and I now have the restriciton I needed to start losing weight again. I hope you feel better.

I am so sorry, she will be greatly missed. Love you Blossom.

Getting a fill tomorrow!!! Hope it works this time..

Well hello, here I am again, I will be driving the three hours to Dr. Eddie Gomez in Coral Gables, Florida for another fill, I had a fill done on March 1, but didn't get any restriction from it. I was supposed to go back last week, but decided to wait another week to see if the restriction would kick in, well it hasn't but hopefully everything will go well tomorrow and I can finally get some restriction and start losing some weight. I have not lost any weight in a while and it is really depressing me and in turn the feeling of depression is making me eat more, I have gained about five pounds back and I hate myself for it. Please pray that I have a good fill tomorrow, my port is sideways so that concerns me as well. Well I will let you all know on Thursday how my fill went. On the up side I get to see the good looking Dr. Gomez. -

I am going well this morning, I can eat, I am sticking to mushies for another day and then I'll try solids, I stayed mostly on warm liquids this weekend and i did well. I have lost 5 lbs since Wed, so that is good. I went home Fri so I haven't been online since then and didn't know what happened to Blossom. I am so devastated, she got banded a day after I did and I always felt we had such a special connection, she was so nice, I am truly going to miss her, I feel very bad right now, I am so upset. I don't understand, why these things happen. I pray that her husband finds the strength and courage to get through this time. Thanks all of you for being so caring toward me, I will talk to you later, I don't feel well now. -
GOT FILLED LAST MONDAY, TOO TIGHT NOW! What should I do?
Mariposa Bella replied to KarenB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
HI Karen, I just went through the same thing. But luckily I am fine now. I had a fill last Wed., I went from 1.2 cc's to 2 cc's and was so miserable the next day. I couldn't keep anything down, and was getting worse everytime I tried, but I discovered my mistake, from now on after every fill I will stay on warm liquids or broth for three days, then go to mushies for three days, then solids, my doctor ( that did my surgery) suggested to me that after every fill it is necessary for you to treat is as if you had just gotten your surgery, since your body has to adjust to the fill, well as of Friday morning I was desperate to get an unfill, but becasue I am three hours away from Dr. Gomez in Coral Gables, Fl, and he was in surgery all afternoon I couldn't get one. So I decided to do the next best thing and relax and follow my surgeons advice, well guess what it has worked, I am now eating mushies (and some crackers) with no problem, I am giving my body time to heal from all the pb'ing I had last week and time to get adjusted to the new fill. It all seems well now, I was prepared to drive over there to get an unfill, but I don't need one now. On the good side of all my problems, I did lose 5 lbs since Wed, so that is great, hopefully I will continue to lose weight with this new fill. And from now on every fill I get, I am following my surgeons instructions to the T. Good luck to you and hope you get to feeling better, because I know how miserable you feel. Love, -

Well the doctor's office just called and they tell me that the doctor is in surgery all day today and then has a meeting so there is no way he can see me today, this realls stinks, I am having serious doubts about the decision I made to get this band, is it worth all this trouble? I better look like J Lo when this is all said and done and all the weight is gone or I'm going to be really mad...Lol Well, the nurse suggested what you all had already told me, stay on warm, clear fluids through the weekend and hopefully I will feel better by Monday, you know what's bad, that he is not in the office on Mondays either, so if worse comes to worse, I have to wait until Tuesday morning. Please pray that this restriction loosens up a bit.. And today is my little girls b day and I don't get to eat cake with her, what a bummer. Well I better head out, I have to take the cake and pizza to her school. -

Thanks, Vicki, I now am wishing my doctor would have been conservative too. Maybe that's what I should start doing, just plan to stay overnight close to the doctors just in case this should happen again. Its just too bad that he only sees patients on Tues and Wed, smack in the middle of the week. -

That is exactly how I feel, I think the doctor was too aggressive with this fill, he took me from 1.2 cc to 2, he should have picked a number in between, I'm probably being punished-- I so wanted to have restriction, but not this much...I went ahead and called the doctor's office (had to leave a message their not in yet) so that they know that I'm having problems. If I don't feel better by Monday, do you think I should go ahead and get an unfill??? I probably should. I hope they don't charge me to have an unfill I wasn't able to eat anything last night and I felt really crappy, I had such a bad headache, I thought my head was going to explode. What a bummer??? I've had to cancel my weekend plans to Orlando, because there is no way I could enjoy myself in this state... I would hate for my family to put up with me all weekend feeling this crappy. Maybe I'll take the kids to the beach instead? At least I can run into the bushes to pb. LOL Well thank you both for being so caring and thank you Alice for the recipe. Today is my little girls 4th birthday, she is having a birthday party at her school during lunch (I took the easy way out, don't have to do any clean up) She was so excited this morning, Those are the little things that make life worth living, I love to see smiles on my children's faces. Well talk to you all later. I have to call and make sure the cake is going to be ready on time.. Love, -

Thank you Alice, hopefully I will get loose or I will have to go to Dr. Gomez to get an unfill. Did you make the lentil soup or did you buy it? Sounds really good, do they sell it at the grocery store, cause I sure don't feel like cooking, not that I would now how to cook it anyway, but I do truly appreciate your care and concern. Thanks a bunch. I will keep you posted. Thanks for the reminder of things that I should be grateful for, you are so right.. Thanks to all of you for caring, and I hope you are right about me loosening up in a couple of days. Love, -
I had some gatorade, and had trouble w/ it. I had my fill and its too tight. So now I'm suffering and can't indulge in any real food.

I was able to eat some chicken noodle Soup for lunch. Not much though, I had mostly the warm broth, and felt better from it. The Protein drink I tried to drink this morning was cold, so maybe that is why I couldn't handle it. Buy boy oh boy do I feel the restriction. And its a bit scary, when I was first banded I was really really sick for a week and wasn't able to hold anything down, I kept pb anything and everything. I ended up in the hospital very dehydrated and it was really scary I thought I was dying and leaving my little kids behind all because I wanted to be thin. So this feeling of restriction (this tight) scares me a lot. But I will take your advice and only take warm liquids or soup because it seems to have worked for me at lunch. I have a 10 cc band and I have 2 cc's in from the fill yesterday. Thank you for the hugs, I really need those today, feeling pretty down, I'm doubting whether all of this is worth it. Yesterday as I was to sip a little Water, and not feeling too good about it, my husband was enjoying his dinner, smoked sausage sauted with peppers, tomatoes and onions and white rice, he also has avocado on the side of his plate and boy was he enjoying it. I can't eat that way anymore and sometimes I wonder if this is all worth it. I'm sorry for going on and on, but I just need someone to hear me today. I hope I loosen up a little bit, but not too much. -

OH, I forgot Pally the Dr. who did my surgery doesn't charge for fills, but he is in Mx, so I found Dr. Eddie Gomez in Coral Gables to do my fills, he charges $300 for a fill with out flouru, if you do it with flouru its $600. I got mine without flouru and there was no problem, I know for a fact that Dr. Gomez knows what he's doing, he hits the port every time and I have a flipped port so that is even harder, but he seems to have no problem getting the job done. -

Well I got filled yesterday, I had 1.2cc in my band and he filled me to 2 cc's, I think I'm too tight. Yikes I go from having no restriction to feeling too restricted, I've been taking little sips of water and gatorade since last night and I can drink a little bit at a time, but then I feel like its stuck there. Why can't anything ever go right for me. I tell you, its tough being on this rollercoaster with fills. I only pb one time, so I am not scared of not being able to keep liquids down, but I wanted to be tight and he made me tight. Wow, nothing ever seems to go right for me, its kind of discouraging. I hope to be feeling better by this weekend. My family and I are headed to Orlando for the weekend, we are going to take the kids to Sea World and to Animal Kingdom Park. My son had a (3) birthday last Wed, and my daughter turns (4) tomorrow, so we are taking them there to celebrate their birthdays. Well, I hope this fill gives a little, because I dont' want to drive three hours again to get an unfill. YUK! -

I am so happy for you, I am glad that everything went well for you. And please stick to the diet, I made a terrible mistake and had a tiny bite of solid food in my liquid phase and paid for it later. But I sure learned my lesson. Get plenty of rest and as they say sip, sip and sip... Love, -
Well I can top all of those, in December when I was fairly new to the band world, my boss asked me to go out to lunch with her to celebrate her birthday, I ordered some grilled chicken plate at Olive Garden, but because she ordered a drink for me, I felt obligated to take a drink, well big mistake... I got so sick, I had to run to the bathroom twice, into a packed bathroom, those people probably thought, poor girl, she must be bulimic, well anyways went back to the table and again that horrible sensation ran back to the bathroom. Well there must have been some more chicken stuck, because on the ride home I started feeling sick again and couldn't hold it in, I pb all over my new RL brown wool sweater, straight down my crotch-- I was so embarassed, she was really scared for me (she doesn't know i have the band), but I told her I have some gastric stomache issues so she thought it was that. Man, I have never been so embarrassed in my life, what was more disgusting was having to clean myself off. I'll never go out to eat with other people, not worth the risk of embarrassment. YUKK!!

When I saw the title to your thread, I thought, yep, I have tons of tight clothes.. But I see that's not what you meant..LOL and those are not only tight sometimes, their tight all the time.... Hello my Florida friend, I don't have much restriction at this time so there are few things that I have a hard time eating, but when I first got my band I did experience that sensation you are talking about. I get filled tomorrow, so hopefully I can finally have some restriction and start losing some of this ugly weight.

I had a terrible Pb last night, it was awful, I thought I was going to die. When I finally did have my pb it was a great huge big bubble when it dropped in the toilet it didn't break up, just floated around in there, a great big bubble. It took me a while to start feeling better, by this point I was sitting on the floor in the bathroom, when I finally felt good enough to get off the floor, the big bubble was still there, it reallly amazed me, how your esophogas makes this foamy slimy stuff to help you get rid of what you eat (or break it up), it is either going helping it through or coming back up. Mine came back up, YUKKY!!!

I'm so happy for you, wishing you continued happiness. And don't forget to keep us posted, cause I sure don't want to miss any of the details. No seriously, I am so very happy for you, you deserve this and more. Love always,

Well I am glad to finally hear from others in Florida. What Bash are you talking about?? I haven't gotten my invite?? So where's the party and how come I haven't heard of it, give me all the details. L, -
The last fill I had was with Dr. Gomez (aka Cutie-pie) and we did it w/out flouru, he had no problem hitting the port, one shot and he found it. Also, he didn't use any numbing meds, but it was not bad at all, I really didn't feel a thing. My port is flipped but luckily he was able to do the fill, I have to go in next Wed., because I didn't get any restriction from the one done last week. But its not bad getting it done w/out flouru.
-
I too hope everything works out for you, but If it were me, I would wait a little bit more before telling him about your band. But thats just me, I don't want people to know, I can't take their negative critisism. Wishing you the best.

Where is the first place you lost weight?
Mariposa Bella replied to Iluvharleys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I lost it all in my butt, it is now flatter than ever, then my arms and I still haven't noticed too much off my belly, which is where I have lots and lots of fat. Maybe I'll have to get butt implants in addition to a tt. LOL Look out J Lo here I come!!! -
Hello, after being so excited about getting my second fill on Tuesday, I am so disappointed. I saw Dr. Eddie Gomez in Coral Gables, Fl (man, he is so fine!!) on Tuesday and he removed about .5 cc's from my band (I had 1 cc's in Jan., wonder what happened to the rest???) Well anyways, my port is flipped (he said I will eventually need to get it stitched back into place), but luckily he was able to do the fill, he played with the amount of liquid to get it just right and we thought he found it at 1.25 cc's, but it has been two full days and I don't have any restriction. I have called and they are going to fill me again next Tuesday. I was really looking forward to losing more weight, I have been at this weight for over a month, and it stinks. I WANT TO GET SKINNY!!! Oh well, I hope it goes better for me on Tuesday. I do have to say that Dr. Gomez was great, very personable and very, very good looking. Makes a girl nervous to have such a good looking guy pinching her fat. LOL
