5'6" and weighed 225-235 surgery day?
RareGold3000 replied to Success2013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 5'5" and highest weight was 249 lbs, day of surgery 239 lbs. I am right now 6 months post op, and down to 174 lbs, 75 lbs total since highest weight and 65 lbs since surgery on 8-21-12. I have my monthly loss totals at the bottom of my profile page under 'my story'. Tomorrow I will see what my total loss was for the 6th month. -
You look fabulous, such a pretty smile!! Thanx for sharing and keep up the fantastic work, and have fun shopping!! :-)

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
RareGold3000 replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Checking in with all the August sleevers.....I was sleeved on 8-21-12, 6 months out tomorrow, and so hard to believe that 6 months has gone by so fast!! I started pre surgery at 249 lbs. and surgery day was 239 lbs. As of today 2-20-13 I weigh 175 lbs so that is 74 lbs total lost and 64 lbs lost since surgery. My goal is 132 lbs so I still have 43 lbs to lose. I try to update pics on my profile monthly rather than putting a post up. I will put more pics up this coming weekend. I just delete the older ones, except my heaviest one before surgery so I can compare. I hope you all are doing well with your new life, it definitely has it's ups and downs, but so worth the journey. Dry skin.....
RareGold3000 replied to Fair2bslimLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the exact same problem back in Sept of 2012 at one month out, and I already have a skin condition that I was born with that has my skin super dry everywhere. It got better by the 6th or 7th week. And, like the above suggestions said, moisturize and water. It will get better, good luck. -
I'll try, we'll see if I do this, with stalls and all, I can't ever seem to make my 'goal' for challenges, BUT it keeps me striving and pushing thru......Good luck everyone!! Current Weight: 175 lbs Goal Weight: 167 lbs Lbs to Lose total: 8 lbs

2 years 3 months Post - OP....Unbelieveable
RareGold3000 replied to ibsly271's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look fabulous!! Thanx for sharing, it's great to see that after 2 yrs the sleeve still works!! I keep hearing everyone say "Well, so and so had the lap band or Roux-en-Y and gained 1/2 their weight back".....or......"they never got to goal and started gaining again". I just know that it's a tool, and we have to realize that and work with it. What a great inspiration you are to all of us, thanx again!! -

Valentine's Day Challenge 2013
RareGold3000 replied to RareGold3000's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know we still have TWO more days for this challenge to be 'over'.......but CONGRATS to those who made their personal goals, what a great accomplishment for sure!! To those of us who did not (me included), not to worry, our goals are what keep us striving and pushing forward, something to look forward to. It's not in the least bit a failure......we'll make it, slow and steady wins the race too, never forget it when you're feeling down. Thanx to all who participated in my challenge. I loved reading it all!! We all have so much to be thankful for, we are blessed!! Karen -
Medical Alert Bracelets
RareGold3000 replied to NikkiV1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said a medical alert bracelet or necklace is not medically necessary for the VSG so I did not get one, no reason to. -

RareGold3000 replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Dana, It eventually always does move.....sometimes it just takes awhile longer than we want it to!! I think we've all been thru it, and more times than we'd want for sure. I'm happy that it moved for you, that's great news!! Karen :-) -

RareGold3000 replied to Butterthebean's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I LOVE this thread!! Maybe I need to keep quiet until I'm 6 months out? That will be on 2-21-13, so that will be soon enough!! -
Thanx, and you'll do great as well, just remember you'll get to your goal, even though we have stalls (I'm in one now for the past 3 weeks) where you won't lose a pound. But, in the end it will all be SO worth it!!
