  4. For me, I found that after my 7 day required full liquid diet pre surgery that I was actually grateful for doing it because it prepared me for what I was in store for the 2 weeks following surgery, FULL LIQUIDS. It wasn't a hard transition then to do that for 2 weeks after and then the 2 weeks of puree/soft foods. Again all surgeons are different with pre and post op diets. Best of luck to you! Karen

Happy 1 Yr Surgiversary to ME!

Congrats on your awesome success!! WOW 121 lbs in a year is amazing. I am all but 11 months post op and have lost 87 lbs total, lost zero pounds this past month so I don't even know if I'll get to the 90 lbs lost mark by 1 yr out end of August. We all lose at different paces, so I am still happy. Thanx for sharing and much continued success with maintenance, you look fabulous!! Karen
  7. I'm 5'5" and heighest weight was 249 lbs. I am almost 11 months post op, and I didn't lose anything since last month and since the latest pic was taken, which is what I weigh now, around 162 lbs. First pic is pre op July 2012, then Oct 2012, Dec 2012, Feb 2013, April 2013 and June 2013, so every other month basically since surgery on 8-21-12. Karen

    Restaurants and gastric sleeve card

I'm not sure, I didn't get a card. You could just order an appetizer or what you normally would and take leftovers home. That's what I've done since I've had surgery, it has worked out great so far. Unless you don't like leftovers then that wouldn't be so good for you. Karen

  13. I never had acid reflux until after this surgery. I was sleeved on 8-21-12 and had it from day 1, my surgeon kept saying it would subside, I was on 3 Famotidine (prescription strength Pepcid) until 10-8-12. So, it lasted all but 7 weeks after surgery. I remember the exact day I didn't need it any longer because it was so bad and then all of a sudden just stopped. After that day in October, I've only needed to take maybe one pill a month due to something I may eat.

    Driving after surgery

Yes, as long as you are off your pain meds you should be good to drive. My surgeon said I could drive the day I came home which was 2 days after surgery IF not on pain meds. I drove 5 days after surgery.

    I hate skinny Beotchs

Agreed........ONE day you will be one of them.....just not the complaining type!! Vent anytime that's what we all do every now and then :-) Karen
  16. You look fantastic, I'm sure you'll get to goal, no rush. As they say to us, we didn't put it all on in one year, so don't be disappointed if you lose slower and it takes longer than a year. My surgeon says typically 1 1/2 to 2 yrs to take it off give yourself. I am losing slower as well since month 6th, but realize that it might be better, giving me more of a chance to tone up as I go along, being at the gym 5 days a week now for months. You look beautiful, Celebrate that!! Karen

  19. Thanx for wording this so accurately!! We see so many say "Muscle weighs more than fat", when it actually doesn't, a pound is a pound whether it be feathers or muscle or fat or coins. Kudos to you!!
  20. You are correct, go to the camera is a great idea!! And, I can see that you don't need to 'look' very far to see how 'far' you've come!! You look amazing, so pretty!! Congrats, and you've reminded me to do the same when I lose so slow each month now. Karen

Some questions for a nervous nelly...

I've not had any soda since 3 months prior to surgery, thought I'd get rid of it early on, and have not craved it since. I'm sure it won't hurt though in moderation down the road for you after surgery. Just be careful too early on due to the carbonation. My surgeon said to wait 4-6 months for any alcohol, which I waited 4 1/2 months and had a wine cooler and was fine. I drink alcohol very rarely and only have 1 or 2 over the course of hours of whatever it is I am drinking and I am fine. It doesn't upset my stomach. Oh, and I took 4 weeks off of work due to the fact that my job is not sedentary at all, so I'm glad that I did. Just be careful of not lifting too heavy. I was fine at home alone too. I drove after 4 days at home. Karen
  25. So far, at 10 months out, with no major complications, I'd have to say "no". Karen
