First of all, CONGRATULATIONS KT 999, on all that weight loss! I am not sure what the conversion is from KG's to LB's, but your ticker is half way, so you must be doing something that we all are not. What are you doing??? My first fill is July 12th. I want it, and need it. The mushies, have put my weight loss to a halt, and I am not overeating! I wanted to have at least 30 lbs off by now. I am going back to the gym this week, and I hope that will jump start my weight loss as well. I love that I can talk about this to you all. My family thinks that I should be skinny by now... yeah... right!

Hi Only4Me, I am doing well. I am losing weight, but ever so slowly. I have a ways to go. I am suppose to get a fill this month, July 12th. I have gone through all of the stages: Not hungry... to starving... and finally learning whose boss.. THE BAND. I am eating mostly soft foods, and only fish for now. Taking it slow, with no regrets! I wish you well with your surgery. Let me know how it goes!

I was banded on June 4th. I use to get gas before the band, but would take Pepsid before I ate, and that was very effective. Now, I get gas after every meal. I have tried Pepsid, but it does not seem to work. Is this normal? Is this happening to any of you bandsters out there or is this a personal problem? Any suggestions???

I live on Long Island, Suffolk County; but was banded in NYC: Manhattan Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery, New York City - Lenox Hill Hospital Bariatric Program by Dr. Roslin. :clap2: All is well, and when you all figure out where and when, I'll be there!

Monthly Subforum request
Lady Libra replied to MintyFresh's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
My stomach has been upset. I ate a few saltines, and the wave went away. My question is, what happens to the band if you vomit? Has anyone experienced this? Please advise. -
I am so lost! (LOL). I asked a question about vomiting and I am not sure if it was answered or not. The subforum is a good idea. I will post it there.

I got a question... when you puked, did you have to get the band filled or adjusted? How does it feel? Is there any pain?

LOL! I just saw your direct reply! Hey, that was (and still is) my favorite snack. I made it through that valley, and some other mountains and hurdles are in front of me. But I am determined to make it through all the way. Today, I am not hungry at all... go figure. Not sure why... oh, I had a dream I was eating italian sausage hero, with onions & peppers! Mmmmm! Hey, I girl can dream, can't she? LMAO!

I was just banded on June 4th. I am doing well, physically, however I have a lot of gas, and my bowel movements are not regular, and most of all I am HUNGRY! I am still on the liquid diet, but I also, have had Soup and cream of wheat. Which my nutritionist said is fine. Once I eat, I am fine, but I get hungry again very fast. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue. The gas is something I anticipated to deal with, that get's better by the day. But I have always had regular BM's, and now they are slowed down to a crawl! I do drink Water, but I fill up fast with water. How are you all doing with drinking all the water? Any tips on any of the above mentioned, please let me know. Oh, and I am craving popcorn

HELP! I got GAS, BM Problems and I'm Hungry!
Lady Libra replied to Lady Libra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you all for your suggestions. I am still in the liquid phase, so, there is not much to do, but drink every hour. I am getting better at this, and the weight is coming off. Does anyone have any liquid food suggestions? -
I was banded on June 4th, and I have not returned back to work yet. Of course, I am 47 years old, and you are 22, so you'll bounce back real quick!

HELP! I got GAS, BM Problems and I'm Hungry!
Lady Libra replied to Lady Libra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am drinking the protein shakes, and I didn't count the soup and shakes as water intake. Thanks for the suggestions. I did use a stool softener, and that gave me diarrhea! I read in another post to drink prune juice. I'll try that. Anyway, I think I am craving salty foods, not that I think it out. It is not just popcorn. For the most part I am sticking to the diet; just can't get pass the hunger phase.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> -

Finally, the date is scheduled for June 4th. I guess my "last supper" will be Memorial Day weekend, (lol). I have made significant changes in my diet and I have a gym membership. My family is not that supportive. Dr. Mitchell Roslin will be performing the surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, in NYC. http://www.nycbariatrics.com/. They have been very supportive and so, and so have you all... my new supportive family. I will keep you all posted on my progress. With a TICKER and all!

Although I have prepared for the surgery: watched the films, went to meetings, had all my test completed, etc. I am still a little scared. I guess going under the knife is just scary. And when I read of some of the complications in the forums, it just makes me wonder if I am making the right decision. Does anyone have a photo of the scars? Is the entrance to the band to have a refill visible? Just need a little pep talk and encouragement. :nervous
