I am so sorry you are having a hard time :-( Have you possibly thought about swimming or water aerobics? It could be low impact build strength and be relaxing in the water... I hope things get better for you :-)

How about a chocolate protein drink (premier protein from costco is good) blended with 1/2 a banana and a tsp of peanut butter (or better yet some pb2) and some ice? -
anesthesia--what kind are we given
VSG Duck replied to huligoo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The sleeve is a laparoscopic procedure so you will need to have a general anesthesia and be intubated. To do this they will use both IV and inhaled anesthetics. You won't remember this because you wil be sleeping :-) Further, you may not even remember going into the OR if you get Versed as it causes amnesia... At our hospital our anesthesiologists have started to do tap blocks on some laparoscopic cases (different from the typical local medications the surgeon injects) . I was wondering if anyone here has had a tap block and what they thought? -
Absolutely! I have always had large legs and I love that they are finally starting to look thin! I am able to wear fun knee high socks now

I am 8 months post surgery and 3 months pregnant. This is our 5th child and is definitely a suprise and a blessing! I am no stranger to morning sickness with my pregnancies but I have been having a few strange symptoms with this one... the most noteable is the insane amount of air in my stomach! It is especially bad when I don't eat for a few hours (ie in the morning or at work) The problem with this air is it offten becomes trapped in my stomach and my body fights it until I end up vomiting until its all out. I very rarely vomit food anymore only air and saliva. I have tried to find ways to prevent this but it doesn't seem to be helping... I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did about it? Also in past pregnancies zofran has been a life saver, but I am currently on 2 different nausea meds with very little relief wondering if this is a sleeve thing or just me being lucky lol.

Since the primary role of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver hopefully the shakes did that even though the rest of you wasn't participating :-)

So I talked to one of my Drs today and he said when you are nauseated you produce more saliva and tend to swallow more even if you don't realize it. With with swollowing comes more air that then gets stuck in your tiny tummy. This even is happening as you sleep which is why I wake up with a tummy full of air. Go figure it makes sense! I always thought the gas was causing the nausea but it was the other way around.

I have tried gasx, I helps alittle sometimes but it doesn't relieve the traped air problem. Another thing I have tried and works occasionally is carbonated beverages I believe adding the extra air alows some of the traped air to escape. Although both of these things help alittle occasionally I still end up with a ton of trapped air.... another thing I forgot to mention is thin liquids tend to make me vomit too especially water so I have been having to drink thick liquids like shakes or very hot things like tea or broth...

I hope so my dr has me taking 6 a day!

My mother in law has horrible restless leg but she finds it stays under control if she supplements with sublingual B12... our new stomachs don't absorb B12 as well anymore so I am wondering if adding sublingual B12 (or more if you are taking some) might help? My doctor has me on one lozenge a day... BTW it takes her body a few days to feel better if she has let her dosage slip :-) I hope this helps :-)
