    I'm Having A Minor Melt-Down

I had to give away 17 jackets...all barely worn...I have a thing for jackets...yikes....my daughter just informed me that this new pair of jeans are too big...I love these jeans they have cool zippers on the sides of the pant legs and they look cool...She said they will be gone today and she hopes I enjoy wearing them for the last time.... It is so strange to be in this spot....I am always being told what does not fit me when I feel fine in them....Oh and by the way I gave away 150 Tee shirts before surgery...Most still had the tags on them..... I can wear my hubby's pants now and they are too big...Have not had that experience since I married him 36 years ago...He said sorry hun but you need smaller pants then mine....ha ha!!! It is all kinda scary eh!
  3. I waited until my children were older and did not need me day to day or minute to minute....For me it was worth the risk for your sister no..The worst possible thing happened to her and I am sorry for that and your ongoing grief...But for most of us here it may be worth the risk...We have a chance to totally change our lives and the prospect of feeling healthier and living longer...' Even though I new that the possibility of death was there I believed that that certainly could not happen to me....I was so wrong...I almost died and am still suffering the effects of everything going wrong. I wish I had been more aware of the of the risks not just about the possible chance of dying but all the other things that happened to me as well...Some others on here have not had an easy go of it either..I am just one of a few of them.... Weighing the risks and deciding if it was worth it was my own decision... I had no quality of life...I was the living dead and thought of ending my life 2 times because of the burden I was placing on my family looking after me....After all the worst was over with the trouble...I did begin to live and got healthier and am able to hold my grand daughter tight and cook a meal for my hubby and walk now, can I ever walk.... These are the reasons the risk was worth it to me personally...Others I am sure have their reasons... It is awful and my heart breaks for you and your family for all you are going through...I think your experience needs to be told to help people see that not everyone works out.....Your sister made her decision based on what she knew and I think that the medical field failed her not the surgery..... Please understand that there is a place for WLS in our obese world and so many have benefited from it..Like me....

    Pre Op Support

Your nervous about your pre-op diet...anything can tick you off right now and it will get worse in a couple of days...Leave the room if you get agitated. If you are dependent on your sisters support then you have to deal with whatever your fighting about....Try to defuse it for now and deal with it when you are done all this beginning part of the journey....K

3 Weeks Out. What Were U Eating?

Sounds like a plan...Are you eating reduced fat cottage cheese..At this point there is no need of that..you are geared to lose weight at this time...Go for the real stuff nothing sugar free or low in calories..you can't consume enough to make you gain weight from food...

    Who Is Drinking Sodas

I stopped drinking soda water months before I had my surgery....Have not touched a drop of soda pop or soda water since....I just don't see the need to have to burp all the time as I do it enough as I am eating.....yikes!!!!!!!

    Sick To Your Stomach

I don't think it was the turkey because you said you felt off when you sat down...Probably anxiety or nerves or worrying about something..It is hard to say....check it if it happens again....Think of what you are thinking about and see if it has anything to do with it At 3 - 4 months out I was still vomiting for no apparent reason...As time has gone by I only do that if I eat something wrong and then it is my own fault...hope that helps

3 Weeks Out. What Were U Eating?

At first it is all compounded by the fact that all of a sudden you are on your own and dealing with this new surgery and the fear that you are never going to get it right. Will the icky feeling in your gut go away..YES it will...There will come a time when you will be able to eat almost anything and will have to watch everything you eat..How much and look at labels... I just said to my hubby at lunch that I don't have any problem now knowing exactly what to eat..I know when it is not the right thing and I know how to fix it... Soon your stomach will heal and relax a little and you will not feel the way you do now...Enjoy the honeymoon feeling for now as you go along in this journey it will get harder and harder to deal with the head issues....which will directly affect your progress..... It is a long journey that will last your lifetime and it is very rewarding you will see......

When Does The Fatigue Go Away?!

It will go away when your body does it...Take this time to really listen to your body and do accordingly..Everyone is different as far as recovery goes.. It will get better I promise..but it will be on your bodies time not yours...K

    Remember This...

I have memory loss but that was because I was in a coma for 19 days....Due to complications with the surgery...I have not even heard of anyone else having this except for those who went through months and months of issues..... It is good to ask any question on here.....
  16. Fine...suggestion....slider food....you can eat a lot before you end up dumping or getting sick..lol

3 Weeks Out. What Were U Eating?

t does happen with the sleeve, not as much but if you eat stuff that does not agree with you or a lot of sliders your stomach will dump!!!!!been there done that a few times....
  18. Well well, exceptions to the rules eh!!! Why does that not surprise me...lol You can always pretend you have a cough and put the chewed food in your napkin when she is not looking....Hey I know it's a stretch but I have seen it in the movies...oh and Mr. Bean put his in the flower pot next to him....No one even noticed...lolololo
  19. The thing that would tip her off is the no drinking while you eat.....That will be the tough part....Everyone drinks while they eat except us...lol You can handle the small portions fine by moving it around your plate and saying you are exhausted from a long day..or you did not get much sleep the night before.....But if she is a s smart as you say she is..She will know something is up...You need to have your reply ready and practiced if you don't want to spill the Beans..... When I order dinner in a restaurant and say I will order a drink later everyone looks at me like I have 2 heads...I want my tea hot and if I order it as the same time as dinner it gets cold....So I put up with the shocked look!

Enough Already With The Compliments And Questions

It has gotten out at my church that I look different then they remember and now everyone is trying to get a look at me as it travels through them....A friend of mine was told the other day that so and so saw me and thought I looked amazing..she asked if it was true.....My friend said yes...then she said can't wait to see it for myself...What am I on display for their entertaining pleasure......I really hate this!!!!!!

I Dont Think My Nut Believes In Me

You go somewhere for help and they are interested in helping you...And this woman who has no idea what it is like to struggle with weight issues gives you attitude....Giving her back attitude will only make matters worse...BUT...like I said when all is said in done..knock her on her uppity ass......

    Snacks

At this point...you are probably not getting enough protein...so it would be a good idea for you to eat something like that or a protein drink....Later when your eating improves you can move to a 1/4 c of nuts or fruit, cheese or yogurt.....things like that!

I Dont Think My Nut Believes In Me

We have been offended enough...don't you think! This woman needs to be Enlightened about her role as a NUT. When you are done and surgery is over..You can tell her how she made you feel....and then tell her what you think of her offensive style!!!!!!!!!!
  24. I think you know why you are struggling with that 20 lbs. eh!!!!!!
