  4. This sounds bad but if I could smack you right now I would.....Why would it migrate. It was placed in your sleeve exactly the same width as your sleeve....If it didn't hurt why did you want it out...A few more weeks and you would have been up and on your way....grrrrrrrrrrr...now another few weeks to go....LISTEN to your doctor Ana.....okay I so want you to get past all of this so that you can be free of complications and move forward on your journey.... Please, please do what he says!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    4 months post-op - Pics included

    Well don't you look sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Ana he is not lying to you. It takes a good 6-8 weeks for the stent to do its job if at all. I would take the new stent and deal girl...if they tried clamps and that did not work then the next is a bypass loup. No sense in comparing yourself with others...you are not them...Come on girl...You can do this! Trust me Ana, you don't want more complications...just behave okay!!!!!!! And serve your time so you can get the hell out of there and on with your journey......okay!!!!!!!!!!

    My stomach died.

I am so sorry for your issues. I too was not educated enough when I had my surgery although I thought I was. Thank you for telling your story. It is sure to help someone on here educate themselves further before making this very important decision. I too have the Roux-en-Y loop . I seem to be okay with it..
  11. I am so sorry for your news about your hubby. And on top of that your health issues sound extremely painful and uncomfortable. I too am one of the 3-5 % of patients that have continued to have complications due to the sleeve. Mine are different then yours but I can relate to the time passing and things not getting better as far as the body adjusting. Like you this has been a long haul for me and others as well. I am wondering why you do not want to take the bypass option. This could be the answer to your situation. I had Roux-en-Y loop which is a type of bypass that worked for my leak.....I know your problems are different but I don't understand why you would not take any option open to you after 2 years of struggling with this much pain. You are a trooper I tell you that. I am 16 months out and wonder if I can keep up the journey... Still here so I guess so. Like you happy, happy, happy with the weight lost but wish the trouble was over. A lot of patients who had reflux trouble find it does return after a period of time. I hope that soon your health trouble will ease for you. Again so sorry about your hubby. Please let us know how things are going Yes, I know of four people that have revised because of GERD. One is doing well... all the other three aren't. One of the main reasons is I don't want to risk any more problems. I didn't want gastric bypass ever because I just don't. That is why I chose the sleeve and I know my problems don't compare to what you and others have been through. I've read your posts. I'm blessed really to just have this. The other reason is I can't afford it. I paid for my sleeve and my insurance will not pay for surgery even if I'm having problems. My husband is dying and I can't even think of that now. I'm taking care of him. I just know that if I had known that I would have developed my spasms, I wouldn't have had the surgery but everything is a risk and I've been blessed as I say not to have had more issues as you and others have. 1 in 4 is not good odds. Your problems are just as bad as mine. And deserve the help and attention of professionals. they helped cause the situation. They need to fix it.... You are dealing with so much right now and my heart goes out to you. Thank you for telling me why you are not having the bypass...It is up to each of us to chose for ourselves what is best. You are your own advocate! It is hard when you don't know what can happen. that is why I have put my story out there so it might help others to see that this is not the easy way out. There are people out there that have done this and are paying dearly for it.... I truly hope things improve for you and it bothers me so much that at this time you are dealing with a family night mare..... I am so sorry Lisa
  12. Ditto for the sleevers and by pass patients as well.....okay! The information here is good for anyone who has had WLS of any kind.
  13. I remember thinking that this was going to take me all day every day and I would constantly be either eating or drinking. I soon made it fun by trying new foods and recipes that complemented the sleeve. If you are ready for the surgery and can prepare yourself in the food Water area. Then it will give you a chance to fix how you relate to food and why it is a comfort for you and change your attitude about food. the ups and downs of the emotional part can take a toll on you. Most nuts and doctors mention that part only briefly.... That is why it is called a journey. This is about creating a new you. A healthier and stronger and happier you. It will take work but if you are dedicated to it not only by what you eat but fixing how you think..You will surely be a loser. Your doing great!

    Question ladies!

I had not had a period for 6 years and then this past Sept. I had one. The doctor feels it is due to the changes in my body..Going into shock feeling so good about the weight loss..lol The issue with me is I am going through the change so it should not have happened. So they have been trying to find other reasons... Your body goes through a whole whack of changes when this happens. But best to check it out like I have...

    Eating too fast

I was showed pictures of stretching of the sleeve the last time I was at my teams office....It is not the sleeve that stretches like Lipsticklady said. Actually a pouch can form under your sleeve at the entrance of your small intestines. There you can store extra food if you abuse the sleeve long enough. The problem with that is that you then weaken the small intestine and can cause a whole new set of problems....So it might be good to try not to eat too fast or over fill your sleeve. Putting your fork down after every bite helps me. Also a smaller fork or spoon. Half way through I stop eating and cross my arms over my chest and wait to feel out my sleeve. A lot of time I don't go back eating after I notice the difference as how I feel...

    Stalls are a myth!

I don't believe in stalls or plateaus. I call it " Body at rest " Taking a break, catching up to all the changes...My body needs to do this to heal itself and continue to get healthier. So no stalls for me. Just plain old rest periods.......

    Could use some help

Sometimes after these surgeries our bodies reject certain foods. This might be an issue for you too. Me I am 16 months out from the sleeve surgery and still can not eat a sunny side up egg, beef of any kind and can not tolerate white meat in poultry. This could be an issue as well. Stay clear of beef for now and try again later on.
  21. Two things could happen. your surgeon does not cancel the surgery or he will! The important question here is why are you not sticking to the pre-op diet. You have to get your head in the game or you are heading for trouble and struggles that are sure to come that makes pre-op a picnic. The reason for the pre-op is to shrink your liver. It also helps detox you from the bad carbs and junk we ate before. It makes it easier on our systems not to have to fight so hard afterwards with cravings.... It is really a mind set...Are you ready for the changes that are about to happen? Only you can answer that question... I think you are scared that you will never eat real food again. But that is not true. You will be able to in the future eat anything you want just in moderation and in balance.

    Tough tmes

There is no such thing as this is so small. This is your life and you experience what you experience. Remember this is your journey and what you are going through can and will change you forever. All the experiences you are going through are real. Losing your grandfather and staying on course is amazing...You got through a huge stress and was successful. That is nothing small. As you continue your journey there will be small thing and huge light bulb moments for you. Changes that you never knew would happen. That is why it is called a journey. Enjoy the journey it is quite the ride!!!! Some people will not watch commercials at all at first. Me when I see them now i think hmmm how can I make that better. Junk food commercials they just make me wince..... Your going to get the help you need here. There is no wrong thing to ask or wrong answer it is what you gleam from people that will help. There is no better examples to help you then those who are and have gone through the WLS too.

    Coincedence?

Me too. Due to a back injury 7 years ago I began to have constant migraines. To the point that I needed treatment every second day that cost me into the thousands of dollars every year....I just wanted to die sometimes..Medication did not even touch them. Since surgery I have only had 5. I am so stoked about that...Days go by without a headache of any kind....

    Upset:(

Look, The body is an amazing machine. It will allow us to abuse it and use it and continue to work when it is run down and give us the energy we need to go on when things have tired it out. It has the capability to adjust if you are injured so that no matter what you will still see the horizon...Those are just a few things it does.... i call it the perfect city! One piece goes wrong the rest of the city starts to change to either accommodate it or shut the system down for repairs. Our bodies will go into rest to protect us from what it considers a possible threat to its well being. It will hold off weight loss if it thinks that it is being harmed in any way. Or it feels it does not have enough to continue to keep the city running smooth. It will hold on to fat if it thinks these things. I call it going into a rest period. We have put our bodies into so much stress over the years with weight gain, then weight loss, then gain again. It has constantly adjusted to keep us going until it cannot handle the changes anymore and we begin to see unhealthy conditions creep into our city. You are doing something to fix your body and your body is confused. that is normal. How long has it been since you fed it good quality food like Protein, Water, vegetables and fruits..It is doing the happy dance! But it still does not trust you so it rests and waits to see if you are going to continue to care for it.....When it feels that you are okay, the weight will start to drop off again......If you look at it this way you will see the body the way I do...A marvelous machine or city that will protect itself from serious harm..... You will drop weight again..Your body just needs to catch up... This is how an Osteopath explained the body to me and I loved the examples!!! Made me appreciate the human body more!
