For the love of sweet Jesus.....

I have read through this entire thread again to see If my remarks were off. Even as I read them again, Its clear to me my remark about "jerks" wasn't pointed at anyone in particular. However, in the context and flow of the thread I can see how it could have been read as me calling MR a jerk. It was a newbie mistake for me not to make it clear that I wasn't dissing her. So to MR and those who love her, I am sorry. Please let me know what else I need to do or say to clean this up with you. (Please don't ask for a 20 page paper that compares and contrasts Protein shakes because then I'd have to start a Rant about that and we could get caught in some sort of Star Trek infinity time loop. And you know what a pain those are! Please, please lets stop the insanity of this thread......I beg everyone! I am writing this while being high on Morphine due to my latest hospital trip.......

For the love of sweet Jesus.....

doubtful. the road is well traveled. but whatever. (you mean best brand of Protein shake??? bahahaha!) I don't think that all the t's are crossed nor the i's dotted on any of the weight loss surgery forums. I think that even I have been through things that no one else has endured or even heard of before. That the possibilities are never ending for complications and or defeats and or the victories over obesity.... Why how many here have had a pocket of Fluid form on their sleeve after 18 months and the doctor says it is a pin hole leak. Excuse me why would anyone have a leak after 18 months?????? Oh well sometimes it just happens..18 months later you say. Why yes! Then the drain they put in they remove after 3 days and the pocket fills back up and you go for your second CT and drain and then 10 days later you step on the damn thing and yank it out of your pocket..( leak ). Then you go for your third CT scan in 3 weeks and the doctor sees that it is maybe possible that the leak is closed anyway and takes the said pulled drain out and sends me on my merry way again. In hopes that maybe the leak problem is solved..Because it is to dangerous to insert another drain because of the position of the leak.... Have you heard of anything like this before in WLS a leak after 18 months...I bet you haven't......Now I wait to see if it is truly a miracle and the leak has healed....If not I will go for yet another CT which would be my fourth and yet another drain..That is not an easy procedure and start again..I am not telling you my story for any other reason but to say that information and experience of each and every one of us may be what we have never heard of before and may in some way yet educate someone else if and when they have a leak 18 months out of surgery......

    Pop Tarts

Hi there, Sweetie....A Pop Tart? LOL...Who would think we would crave something like that, right? I had some yogurt pretzels in the house the other day and thought "It's OK to have a few." Yeah, who has just a few yogurt pretzels...I couldn't. I ate a lot of them - so many, my stomach hurt. I wish I could say "have just one of the Pop Tarts"...I'm not sure I could stop at that. I also find that when I eat carby things like that, that it affects the rest of my day and my want and need for more carbs. Let us know what you decide to do!!!!!! Sending much love to you, my friend. See I would never eat a yogurt pretzel......Not my thing.....But I can't even remember when I wanted a pop tart or the last time I ate one...It is done and over and the box sits a lone in my snack cupboard and will probably be eaten by Amelia..my grand daughter.... I feel no aftermath...Food is part of life I did not eat the box or even 2 but I enjoyed it...That is something I have talked about on here constantly to not treat things you love like a no no. Your wants will eventually win out if you deny them regarding food....ONCE IN A WHILE.......is the ticket. Not every day and not all the time and not to eat them until you get sick..one cookie, one bar.....it's all good! Moderation and balance is the ticket...At least that's what I was taught by my nut!

    Pop Tarts

Oh no you got me wrong. I do not eat a treat because I think I deserve it. I do it because I want it and I can have it if I chose too. I have sliders that I have to be very careful with like popcorn, cracker chips...Like that...A pop tart is just that a pop tart and I have worked on myself for 2 years to put food where it belongs....To feed my body not my soul... It will always be a struggle because once you are an addict you are always an addict. I ate it and enjoyed it and today I am back on track....That is the difference in changing your brain set..from uncontrolled eating... I will struggle for the rest of my life like everyone on this forum or have had WLS to control the demon...I chose to poke it once in a while to see how far I have come...And I have come a long way baby....I hope the same for you someday otherwise it will become way to much being so restricted on a diet again..just a different one.....

    Pop Tarts

It is wonderful to see so many living life like real thin people and putting food in its proper place. I salute all of you... My nut told me when I started this journey that if I treated it like another failed diet. I would fail. But that if I learned to eat in the real world, used balance and moderation along with my tool I would succeed. I took her advice and ran with it... So I do eat really differently and I get a treat now and then..I love my sleeve and my new feel on life and how I see food today compared to 2 years ago when it was the only thing I had left... You guys are working it as well. I am so proud to be part of this group of successful people..Who know where I have been somewhat!

Thanks @@LipstickLady I am like you I feel that I can have a treat now and then and today it was just to mess around a little. I planned on eating the pop tart anyway. It was my hubby who said I would get it from the forum if I did it...When I want a treat I eat it and never think about it again. it was so funny because it was only 2 days ago that he said I don't want you losing anymore weight....Because I am only a couple of lbs from goal.....Crazy goof! Did you get my message about how wonderful you look now....What a great accomplishment for you as well!

    Exhausted!

This too shall pass. Seems to me that you are about right on track....Your body is dealing with a lot right now. Be kind to yourself and rest when you need to. Also try Premier shakes. Not bad for being a shake. Try to keep your electrolytes up too. sip sip sip.... Allow yourself the time to heal. This is part of it all! K

    Real coffee?

Tea and coffee are diuretic and because of the small pouch at the beginning and the trouble of getting enough liquids in as it is. It is recommended that you keep clear. Once you have the Water drinking down you can afford to drink a tea or coffee..But still you have to be careful not too much.....I have 2 teas a day now..18 months out..but gt my 64 oz. of water in too......

    Large Incision (pic)

Yes it does not look red or inflamed to me...but if it does leak or you do get a fever..Go quickly to the ER... Other then that stop stretching it and it will not hurt so much....We get a little energy and then were off doing too much!
