    Mystery symptoms

I would have them look for an ulcer. I have had a similar experience and it turned out to be a tiny ulcer on my sleeve. Not drinking the alcohol..Sorry I think it is a good thing.....LOL I have not drank it for 14 years.....For the sleeve it is a waste of calories..But that is just me.....No back lash guys everyone is different and sees things differently....To me no loss! But the other issue...I would ask for a scope....It may tell you more then you can get from a CT Scan. It might be a bladder infection but it sounds like more is going on to me!

    Overreacting? I want water!

The reason for not drinking during your meal is because you lubricate the food and loosen it so that it is no longer dense and it leaves your sleeve as fast as you eat it and the flaps don't close unless the food is dense. Even after eating dense food our stomachs are so small that the food passes quickly out and goes to the intestines to start breaking it down so that we get the nutrients we need. The stomach has acid in it that starts the process of digestion and because it is so small we have to take advantage of the limited time we have to keep food in our stomachs so that each part of the digestion system does its part. That is why we take supplements because we cannot get everything we need to keep us healthy by just eating. Some will, no matter what drink while they eat. But it is suggested not to. And you are right..You should not have allowed this procedure until you were educated about all the changes you would have to go through regarding your body, mind and soul. I am sorry for that!

    Head games losing weight

It is all about your head. If you don't fix the reasons you are in the place you are you will not succeed. We have to rewire our thinking and it takes work to figure out why we have this addiction and how to handle it because we can never ever trust that we have it under control. It is a lot of work to do this and even though we are losing weight while we are working out our issues and finding other things to replace food it is messing with our heads. When all is said and done we will still have to watch how we think to keep us in good health. We will always have head games because we are addicted to food! Don't kid yourself by thinking that you will never have a fat head. Your going to think all kinds of things that you never thought you would trying to make sense of the physical, emotional and mental changes that are about to hit you... In the end when you are at goal you will struggle with the new you until you become at peace with it all....It is a lifelong struggle but a rewarding one at that because you have put the food demon in its place and you can handle it!
  4. Hey show him this video and see if all the pop is worth it. And after you watch this video be glad that you have made a choice to eat healthier and look after your body and let him do what he is going to do..okay..This is about you changing not him. It would be wonderful if he supported you but he has his own reasons to try to sabotage you..Maybe he is afraid that you will become too gorgeous for him to keep as a mate and he is comfortable with the person he sees in front of him..Sad but true..Our mates can go completely nuts on us with the fear that we may no longer want them if we are thin.... This ought to cure anyone from drinking soda pop, cokes etc... . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZp29Qeu8_U

    popcorn

love it but it is a slider for me..I can eat 3 cups no problem. It depends how far out you are if you want to try it. There is no nutritional value in it except fiber. So I eat popcorn chips. 19 for 80 calories..I can never eat 19...to many..You might want to give that a try to cure the munchies......
  6. I have been reading all the posts here and want to say a couple of things....Guys the main issue is our health, not our size. Careful not to switch your goal to something that just maybe your body does not want and you will eventually go up to the size your body feels best at. That is the goal. Good health and reasonableness. Please don't turn weight loss into another addiction. Carefully think about the fact that it is very possible for us to become anorexic or bulimic. There is a percentage of weight loss patients who have done just that... Concentrate on health and wellness and leave the number out of it.....You will be beautiful at the weight you are meant to be.... Just some motherly advice......I care about all of you!

19 months out and a leak!

I don't know why..Maybe because it is a dehydrator. Maybe because it has tannin in it...Someone asked me if I drink it and I said yup....Not a lot but some every day!

    150g of protein a day

For 2 weeks pre-op I drank 5 protein drinks a day and lost 27 lbs before surgery...I think she may have a point there. Follow her advice and stick to it okay!

How bad did your IV spot hurt?

Nooooooooooooo tell them to move it. If it is not comfortable there is a reason for that..They can blow a vein leaving it there. For Pete's sake what kind of professionals work in the medical field. Never let them put it in your wrist.....ouch! Forearm that's it!

  16. No it is fair to say there is little risk involved. I think an intelligent person will do the work of learning everything they can about WLS. Including the good the bad and the ugly. We can in no way guess what experience we may have but in all good intentions we want the best experience for everyone on this forum and for those who are not. It does not always end up that way and to take a blind eye to the possibilities is not doing your research. @@ChavaBling I think we must be prepared for as much of the possibilities as we can and then deal with what does or does not happen in our journey!
  17. In the 19 months that I have been on this journey I have never had a stall or gain...Never been disappointed...Want to know why? Because I only weigh myself at my Dr,s office. Through out 19 months I have probably been weighed 10 times. Each time a happy moment.... Please do not get bogged down in numbers. At this point they mean nothing except anxiety and fear of failure.... Trust me..It is self defeating to do it constantly. It is a way to sabotage yourself!

    Feeling weak

Keep hydrated through this part of your journey. It is the most important thing..G2 or Coconut water..Both are great for hydration while you are getting on your feet....okay!

    Bummmeeeddddd!

No it's not gods way of saying enjoy your summer. It gives you more time to prepare yourself for what lie's ahead. More time to learn what you need to do to prepare yourself for your future journey. More time to get used to the fact that you are going to start to build a new life for yourself. A healthier, happier life! What is one more month anyway on the grand scheme of life. One more month. A lot more accomplished. And then enjoy your summer!

    Weight gain

I am home with a drain @@awold0 right now and it will be there for several weeks and then another CT scan and then another week and it should be removed. I am in a lot of pain but not as much as I was.....Taking one step at a time..Always been my motto! Thanks for asking...I also hit my goal weight when I was in the hospital...I am kinda unsettled about that for some reason..Will have to figure that one out!
  22. When I was in the hospital this week everyone was calling me little Janie...Made me mad for some reason...A year ago they would have been cheering me on to lose and now it is hey little girl....So confusing sometimes... I want to be slim but not too thin.. I never had a waist and no chest to speak of...And I see myself heading in the same direction..... When surgery happens I will lose another 20-25 lbs of skin....I will be an 8...I'm 5'8" I am so scared!!!!!!!!!

    Weight gain

Stay on track and it will all happen okay! Don't look at numbers right now...Concern yourself with healing and feeling better......

19 months out and a leak!

I'm curious. Do you drink coffee and/or tea? I hope you make a speedy recovery and have no m I do drink tea. It is a help to chew food well as it does not get pushed down too hard as it leaves the esophagus. That is a concern that stretching the tissues that way can cause leaks...Over time we can be ones that get ulcers....Not necessarily because of the sleeve. But because of acids in our stomach that is not attended too. Also it has been proven that if you get one your in line for others if you do not take meds to help bring down acids in your stomach...... Most don't get any of these problems but me..I am trying to set a world record for the person with the most complications from weight loss surgery...lol

    I'm back! And at goal!

Well guys 14 days in the hospital and home now with a drain in my side. They put a larger drain in with the hopes that that will flatten the abscess. i am on ulcer meds for the rest of my life because once a sleever or any WLS patient gets one it is likely that they will get another. Yippy..I hit the jack pot again.... One positive thing that happened is that I reached my goal while in the hospital..... I never thought in a million years I would ever weigh the same amount I did when I got married..... Thank you to the ones that sent well wishes my way.....And those who told me they missed me......
