    UGGGGGHHHHHH I am STUCK!

All food turns to sugar that fuels our bodies..it is a matter of choosing the right kind of sugar to eat....Like fruit and veggies and Protein..... I do however believe that there is a place for all kinds of food almost...except fast food...LOL..

    UGGGGGHHHHHH I am STUCK!

11 months out and I still can't eat beef or pork...or my personal favorite Chinese food! Explore options there is fish and cheese and nuts, so many different kinds of fish..I eat it almost every other night now...Never before...I love it! You need your Protein it is the building block that pushes this program to work.....Trade your Snacks for 1 a day..And have something like yogurt....You will start to pose again...but what you have lost is wonderful...Enjoy each lb. lost as a victory...it is going to take time and it won't always be easy...
  5. Nope..Not offended at all....Keep those thoughts though!!! Your in for a bumpy ride like all of us! An amazing life changing ride but it is not for the faint of heart to be sure!

    pizza 3 months out

Sweetie...I can tell you are pre-op. I remember the days that I thought the same things and would never ever eat sugar or even pizza...This journey you are about to take is not one of those failed diets...It is a tool to teach you how to eat to live...Not live to eat....Neither is it to be treated like another failed diet......Like me and others who have gone through it you will have to deal with your head and learn how to control what got you where you are now..... I believe and will always believe that every day failed diet is because we give up so much that we can't take it anymore...And so we fail again....This is a life change to change your life forever....A lot of work will go into this for the rest of your life.....I am not judging you, I understand completely why you feel the way you do...We all start off very zealous about the huge decision we made....But we have to be balanced and you too will learn that I promise!!!

    Feeling Like Crap!

Trust me enjoy their consideration now..Soon they will be back to their old habits of putting things in front of you ( just to try a bite ) Habits are hard to break. As they see the weight start to come off, you'll find all kinds of different changes...Some good, some not so good... I personally think it is sweet of them to do this at one of the hardest part of the journey....

    pizza 3 months out

pizza is considered the healthiest junk food out there..When I was pregnant with my daughter the NUT told us at class that if your stuck for something good and healthy to eat...Eat Pizza....I followed her advice and still consider it a great choice over other fast foods...... And I eat it when I want!

    Post op

I never weighed myself when I was fluffier, so why would I start now?! I only weigh myself at the teams office ( the ones who did this to me...lol ) Which is about every 3 months...I am always pleasantly surprised.... Do you have a sledge hammer...use it on the scale..You'll feel great..saw a woman do that on the Biggest Loser.....

Don't worry..You are geared to lose weight...Your body is going to shut you down if it feels distress....You will start again but give your sleeve a chance to heal okay....Everyone is in such a hurry...LOL This is a life long journey, enjoy the ride...There will be good weeks and bad weeks, good days and bad days...Seems to me you are doing great...A loss is a loss.....

    8 month post op

Your not alone....Everyone struggles one time or another in this journey....I know last week I had a tough time with food....This week it is better and I am on track again.... I got scared I was losing too much to fast..lol..That is one of the reasons I never lost before...I kept it as a protection of sorts..Now I am dealing with it all! I have depression as well and it is very easy to find ourselves in a low place at times.... this to will end and things will look up! Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!

    6 days post-op, and HUNGRY

This is about the time you panic because you see how little your sleeve is taking in....And you are still seeing things in bigger sizes.....Keep it light, your just at the beginning.... Head hunger is a horrible thing but we all get it.. And your right it could be gas or any number of natural occurrences with your new sleeve...Just keep eating a little at a time....This will pass! it's all good!!!

    Question

I had the same problem but I threw up when things did not agree with me...11 months out and I still cannot eat beef or pork....Chinese food was the love of my life...Well eating life anyway and now I cannot tolerate it at all.....There are so many other things that I have tried that does so I do not worry...As you test things and they don't agree with you, leave them alone for now..Try again later in a month or so..Don't forget you are still healing and your tiny stomach is healing....K
  18. There is going to come a time when you are fighting to eat properly and stay within portion sizes..If it is not one thing it is another..It is a growing experience...a learning experience and only taken on by the strong of heart..You have done the hardest part..you had the surgery...You must find other things to fill the space that food took to help you deal....You did this for a reason....remember that and remind yourself why? I cried a lot when I got done....i spent 5 months in the hospital with complications with the sleeve....i cannot even tell you how dark and lonely it was for me... Now....I am on the other side of it and well on my way to my new life..and enjoying every second of it....what brings us to the point of WLS is that we feel we have no where else to go...And even though the transition period is difficult..It will get easier....You are going to be so proud of yourself when you start to see you have control over food the thing that controlled you......There are so many positive things...Start a list of the small changes and see how fast they add up...
  19. Your doing fantastic for the length of time since you had your surgery.....Keep up the good work!

    anaesthesia problems

I had a total of 11 surgeries because of the sleeve...only one time I knew what was happening...I felt almost the entire surgery...But managed to make some kind of sound and that is all I remember for about the 7 hours I was out.. I felt them pulling the stents out of my sleeve and then when I made the sound I heard them say..WTF and that was it... I talked to the surgeon after and he said it would not happen again....And for the rest of the surgeries it didn't...I thought it was funny when I heard them say WTF though....lololol

    Low grade fever

I ended up with a 104 temperature 4 days after my surgery..I was septic...I wanted to wait until the next morning to go to the hospital...The doctor told my husband that if I had waited he would have woken up to a dead wife....I spent 5 months with one thing after another going wrong.....Temperature is the first clue...Your drain needs to be watched for possible infection..It is open...And it can happen so fast...Glad your okay!!!

    My first NSV

Personally I would try to get them made out of stainless steel....No worries ever of tarnish or scratches...I have way too many rings to have adjusted..I had them all sized up when I thought I could never lose weight again....Went from a ten thumb to a seven....Gone from and 8 ring finger to a six....Blast if I had only known this was going to happen! Hind sight is always 20/20
  23. Soon! You went through a major surgery on your stomach. They put a pipe down your throat to help you to breath..It takes time for your body to recover from this..Give it the time it needs...In a couple of weeks everything will be different....It does get easier and easier....I promise! Your doing great pushing through...Just keep swimming K
  24. RJ'S/beginning

    My first NSV

They are lovely...certainly worth fitting into again...congrats... Now like me what happens when all your rings are too big? That is the million dollar question? lol
  25. RJ'S/beginning
