Curious? Any One In Cincinnati?
Jakat replied to zebrasprinkles's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
zebrasprinkles, Like I said in posting before. I think of it as standing in line to get on a roller coaster you have never been on. You know it's going to be great but the anticipation and fear gets worse the closer you get. Afterwards you kinda laugh at yourself about being so silly. YOu only have a few more days for a lifetime of feeling and looking better. YOu can do this, you are not alone. Buckle down and stay the course everything will be fine. -
congrats on the new sleevers. I will be joining you guys on Sept 24th. Monday 9/10 starts the pre-op diet. Kinda like waiting to go on the big roller coaster for the first time. Excited and anxious at the same time.

Yes he is very good, but it's not just him. In my opinion it's the whole set up that I like. The surgery center and everything is right there in one place. Kinda of a one stop shop. My surgery date is Sept. 24. When I met with him I was on the fence leaning more to the sleeve and he was the one that actually recommended the sleeve. They do have financing avail thru three or four different companies. Another thing I like is fact you can do the seminars and most ofthe paperwork on line. -
I meet with the nutrition specialist on 9/10 and get my pre-op diet plan and food then. I was hoping that someone that has been thru this recently could tell me good or bad foods. I have heard that the chicken soup is pretty good along with the jello

Well I got my date yesterday. It is 9/24, just around the corner. I have my NUT class on 9/10 and start my 2 wk pre-op diet then. Any suggestions on the diet (good foods, bad foods).

I was the same way, but when I met with Dr. Curry he convinced me the band was better. It has a lot less maintance. In other words you don't have to keep going back to get it filled. A LOT less likely of food getting stuck and it's a lot easier not to give up or get off track with the sleeve. If you give up with the band after a while the "fluid" leaks out and out can go back to eating too much and lose all the ground you have gained. I get my sleeve on 9/24 -
In the two years I have had mine I have gone thru 3 different styles of masks. So don't get frustrated go back and get re-fitted with a different style. Remember this condition is deadly if not taken serious. The most famous case I can think of is Reggie White, NFL football player for the Packers died at like 46 or something from it.

I am not sleeved yet, but a cousin on my wife's side has been for 15 months. Same thing, he said the carbonation fills u up toooo fast and makes you feel miserable. So he has a shortie of seagrams with just a "splash" of 7-up and sips and enjoys it.

Glad to have you here. This is a great place to get info and ask questions. Remember what the teachers always said "there is never a dumb question" either someone else is thinking or feeling the same and won't ask or probably more likely someone in here as already been thru it. hang in there and good luck

I have had CPAP for about 2 years. It does take a little getting used to, but nothing major. The biggest thing is make sure your mask is comfortable and seals well. My wife loves it..no more snoring and it makes very little noise.

Whoo, Great news, way to go. Sounds and looks like you are doing wonderful. Keep up the good work

the lack of sleep, lack of food, pain meds..its no wonder. Hang in there

could be "head hunger"...not really hungry, but your mind is playing tricks with ya. If you are drinking your recommended amounts and eating correctly then it is probably head hunger....Good Luck
-
I am sure your surgeon did just fine. Maybe pain meds playing mind games with ya...LOL

I have a cousin that was sleeved 15 months ago. He did the same thing, except with mixed drinks. Like he said, it's instant feedback eat or drink too much and your going to pay the price. Don't beat yourself up over it. Like others have said, lesson learned. Good Luck -

Zonda, I am sorry that you are having problems with your boyfriend(?). Maybe he's jealous/afraid of you loosing weight and looking better. Remember you are doing this for yourself. If he is not going to be supportive then it's time to find someone that is. hang in there and good luck

I am also a patient of Dr. Curry's and live in burbs north of Cincy. I has my 3hr meeting with him and his team on 8/8 and got my approval letter on 8/25. My scope is 9/5 and hopefully surgery date very soon. Very anxious and excited at the same time. -
You can do this. I am also pre-op and don't have a date yet, but should be sometime in Sept. Yes I am also nervous, but excited at the same time. I have tried all the diets and yes I lose the weight, but gain it back. I too need to lose about 100 lbs. I have always been active, but the back, neck, knees are starting to rebel against the extra weight. Good luck and stay the course. It will be well worth it.

I got my letter the other day. Congrats! Here we go. I am getting my scope done on 9/5 and hope to get my surgery date soon.

Hi everyone, Brand new out here. I started my journey on August 8th with Dr. Curry here in Cincinnati. He was very in depth and explained everything and answered all my questions. I was lucky that I was able to get his consult, psych eval, meet with his insurance team and diet team. My scope is Sept 5th. I just received my letter of approval from my insurance company. I hope to be getting my surgery soon. I have been reading a lot of questions and responses. How do you get the weight and BMI tracker I see on the bottom of alot of your responses.
