  1. Hi all, Thanks for the prayers, sleeved yesterday, home today. everything went great. I am very sore and moving slow but tolerating liquids well. it feels different not at all hungry and you do have to sip sip sip to get close to goals. I know now why they say proteins first cause you feel full so quickly.Proteins anf fluids in the required amounts is what gets the weight off, and keeps it coming off.

    Struggling With Pre-Op Diet

My diet is 14 days liquid pre-op, I do 3 protein shakes a day Premiere protein from Sams club its doable. Sugar free Jello, Sugar-free poposicles, broth, cream soups blended, crystal light, tea and coffee, diet v8 splash. Im on day 6 doing ok so far, My body has been going through a cleansing. It is suppose to be different after surgery you want be as hungry and wont be able to hold as much either. Looking at the things others can have makes me want to cheat but i'm afraid to. If anything goes wrong I wanna be able to say i did everything my doc said.at least, I would blame myself otherwise. Good luck and hang in there. Sandra

Could some one please tell me where you get your chewable Calcium citrate with Vitamin D I need 1500mg of cal and 1800 ius of vit d a day after surgery. Most ive found are pretty exspensive and a bag or box only would last like 8 to 10 days any info would be appreciated. Thank you Sandra

    Calcium Citrate

Thanks everyone my nut also insist on citrate, it is harder to find and they are more exspensive for the ones ive seen I would have to take 3 day and they would only last about 10 days for 15 to 20 dollars
  9. Protein is not good for diabetics but doing high protein for a while to get the surgery and maybe get rid of your diabeties out weighs that. Im no medical professional but that what my doctor said The diabeies is also hard on the kidneys and liver.

    My Story

Thanks Guys I love the attitudes and support I can see how this site will be helpful and encouraging.
  19. Hello Everyone, My name is Sandra. I'm 49 I have 3 grown sons and 1 that is 21 but he has cerebral palsy and is totally dependent, he does not walk or talk. That is one reason for the surgery so i can be in better shape to care for him. I'm Married both my husband and I are diabetics, another reason for the surgery. My legs and back hurt all the time I can't walk very far at all without a walker, it used to be a wheelchair. I have completed all my test and am now waiting for the insurance process. I did test positive twice for the Hyploria infection and am almost through my second round of antibiotics. I started my process in Feb of this year and have lost 30lbs since then, but the wait is getting old and so is logging my food, Ive stumbled a little but trying to get back on track. I also just had my first grandchild also a boy 8 months ago and I want to be healthier and more active for him. I was told by several drs that this surgery is now necessary for me no longer an option because I couldnt do it on my own. I have been overweight fot at least 30 yrs but never as large as i am currently until the last 5yrs or so. Sandra
