Liquids and pureed went great and i felt great only issue has been constipation, saw my doc friday and he said add a stool softener. Today i have severe diarehha its like water and I cant get far from the toilet.I had some nausea yesterday and some loose stools last night. Friday was my first day on soft foods I first thought maybe it was the soft scrambled egg for breakfast Saturday but now im wondering is it the stool softeners or something else anyone else had this issue Id love some input? Today ive only had some oatmeal one protein shake and some pureed mashed potatoes with meatloaf and gravy about 1/2 cup.

Cheated and very scared/emotional
ascooke replied to TXGIRL80's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Its Unfortunate you have to feel the wrath and regret of those who have experienced problems. My sister is Kapoorvilla and quite frankly she almost died through her surgery complications which were no fault of her own but yet she gave helpful, thoughtful kind advice. Its no more your fault than it is theirs. First of all it seems to be pretty normal not to feel when you are full on liquids because they move through so quickly. as you advance to pureed it will become more evident. Popcorn seems to be the worse thing you did thats scary to me, but hope fully it wont bother you. You should try to get back on track and follow your surgeons orders, If you're still worried call your nut or Doc and get professional opinions before you get too upset. I will be praying omes easier for you to stick to the program -
Yes agree it sounds like you are grazingand making the wrong choices when you do try to avert your attention to something other than food. Always ask yourself Am I really Hungry? Is this food worth it? Could I make a better choice? and remind me of all this when i need it please lol

Im 5 weeks out and still have gas and I take gasx almost everyday. -
Generally People may ponder "What Have I Done" especially if there are any complications but when the weight starts coming off and you start healing that goes away too and you are glad you did it.

Day 13: What are you eating?
ascooke replied to shrinkadonk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It gets better. I'm almost 5 weeks out and im eating pretty much anything I want, I just have to chew it really well and have smaller portions, trouble is sometimes I forget and swallow too much at one time or eat too fast and am full before i realize it.Usually for breakfast its about 1 cup of oatmeal or cereal and a cup of coffee then mid morning a protein shake lunch is 1/2 cup of protein and 1/2 cup of veggie. supper is 1 to 1-1/2 cups of protein and veggies if im low on protein or hungry before bedtime i have another protein shake. Thats about it im down about 48lbs since the pre-op diet and surgery -

Don't panic you'll start dropping soon. -
I basically believe in following the rules and I have so far my surgeon is also strict and If anything goes wrong I dont want to be able to blame myself. But that being said how does your stomach know if its day 12 or 14?

Have you heard that carbonated drinks can stretch your pouch, my doc and nut said we should never have anything carbonated again.

How do you calculate post-op weight loss?
ascooke replied to ChrisJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too from first appointment a loss is a loss. -
Try sugarfree jello and popsicles to help with your hunger and cravings. Make sure you are getting at least 60 grams of protein and all your water. It does get better after day 3.
-
If you have a blender you can puree almost anything, Chicken, turkey, turkey meatballs, stew beef, just use gravy or broth to help it puree smoother, purr vegetables, potatoes etc.. use cheese, salsa, alfredo sauce etc for flavor just watch your calories, carbs, sugars, and fat.
