Official Stall Thread- When Did You Hit Your First Stall And How Long Did It Last?
Annie RN replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 1 month post and hit a stall that lasted about 1 week. I was weighing every day! I had to put the scale in another room where I dont see it! I am only going to weigh 2 x per week now.... I think this stall is my body adjusting from liquids to "mushy" food. I definitely feel better--have lost 29.4 lbs!! I wish I could say 30! -

Surgery In 3 And A Half Weeks , Scared To Death

I had a pain drip and it was wonderful! I also had a device called "onQ", which has a little catheter that gave numbing medication directly to the incision inside. The worst pain is the gas that gets trapped under the diaphragm--the only way for it to go is to walk, walk, and fart! GasX strips are wonderful! The first week was rough for me, but 10 days post op I was helping a friend paint her new house! Dont let your fear of the physical pain stop you!! It is temporary!! You can do this!! -
I had the sleeve doneon Monday Sept 17th--had alot of pain (more than I had anticipated) but today - 5 days post op, I finally am feeling better-showered, hair washed and styled and mascara on! Off for a short walk and then spending the morning on the porch reading and enjoying the beautiful fall day!! My question is: How many of your surgeons/doctor groups called you at home post op?? Mine has not, and I am kind of pissed about it! Ann

Annie RN replied to TinkerToyz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 48 y/o and have been an ER nurse for 25 years--I am being sleeved on 9/17th --am very excited and a little scared, but ready for this new chapter in my life!! -
For me being at home is harder--even though we dont have any "contraband" in the house, I want a piece of cheese, something to crunch. Trying to stay busy and keep focused on 12 days from now!! Annie RN

Source: Staying The Course On Pre-Op Liquid Diet I am using Opitfast and the second ingredient is SUGAR!! WTH?? The Opitfast is required by my surgeon for the pre op diet. I was using Pure Protien, which only has 1g of sugar--Optifast has 17g!!! Still struggling on day 3, craving real food--hate this artifical stuff. Do you think I could have an egg white without sabbotaging the preop diet///

Staying The Course On Pre-Op Liquid Diet
Annie RN replied to ohmandy's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Today is my first day on the liquid diet--I thought it would be high protein, low carb, but the shakes I am suppose to use have 20g carbs in them! I have to work a 12 hour shift today--maybe its good to be at work without tempations ! -
Surgery is 2 weeks away and I picked up my Opitfast for the next two weeks--Dont know how this is going to work with my job as an ED nurse, and of course the first day I start, I work. Trying to stay focused on the big picture!
