  1. Wow I thought soda was a no no for all. You are the first I have heard say otherwise.
  2. I love how weight loss makes folks look years younger! You are going to look like a different person the more you loose.

    ~4 months post-op with pictures :)

Wow you look great! Enjoy your hard work!
  4. Kammie I do remember the surgeon saying everything was pushed upwards. Thank you for that input. An MRI to see what he was cutting into could have saved everyone so much trauma.
  5. Habbitts not happiness although.....
  6. I kicked the soda habbitts months before surgery along with caffeine. I am so glad I did because all these changes are hard enough with out going through caffeine and soda withdrawals on top of it. I am so sorry for those that are going through that but pre sleeves be warned give up the bad happiest now because after the relationship with food is different you don't need anything extra bringing you down.

    Pain...

Yay! So glad you r getting some relief! Praying hard it continues to go away!
  8. Hi everyone. Many have wondered how my c section could have caused the scar tissue. I dont know the answer so I thought I would give the details I have. My C section was in 99. I was cut horizontally across just a few inches above pubic area. The outer scar looks normal and I have had no problems with pain from that scar, that is the only operation I have ever had. Before surgery I had a colonoscopy, endoscopy and swallowed a camera pill in efforts to find a source of a suspected internal bleed. I had low Iron on one of my labs from the surgeon and was having a lot of constipation and some rectal bleeding. The results were slight hemerroids and some malformed viens in the small intestines. I was assured both of those were common and would cause no problem with WLS. No scar tissue mentioned in those test and all this was sent to my WLS surgeon. My iron levels return to normal months before surgery. The incesions from the WLS are above the c section by several inches. The long incesion where I was cut is from my belly button up to my chest. I am surprised the cut is not straight. There is a crooked shape like this > in the middle of straight line. Of course the cutting of the bowel must have happened through one of the small incesion and becauce it was a "bleeder" the surgeon must have been in quite a hurry to make the longer cut to repair and that must explain the lack of straightness. I must admitt until I heard from others who have had multiple c sections and some with c section and hysterectomy or other types of surgery in the abdomen area I didn't question the "scar tissue" statement. Now I do because how come my one surgery caused scar tissue but I have had no problems from that surgerical sight in over 13 years. I guess none of the tests I had done or the chest X-ray or that full body idex scan showed up scar tissue. Many are debating weather or not I should seek legal counsel, this is more about discovery of what really happened to me and why it happened. I am not to the step of deciding those issues because I don't even know what happend. I go in next Thursday and I am going to ask for the recording of the surgery and see where that leads me. Thank you to those who realize that my pain and suffering is real and merely signing a paer does not put me helpless to hold this "center of excellence" accountable for their care or lack there of me during this surgery. Do you guys really think malpractice only takes place if you forget to sign consent? Really? I am in no way saying my case was malpractice. I do not know that, I am very much wanting to rest my mind that it was not but I just do not know yet.

    New to Support Group

Welcome! This site has been wonderful for me I hope you have the same experience. You are doing great! I was sleeved Dec 5th. Doing good after a rough start with complications.
  10. Odd. Time will tell. How does someone find out about a doctors past complications other than asking the surgeon themselves?
  11. Thanks Iggy and I hope you feel better quickly. I have been told my doctor records all surgeries and I have thought of asking for the DVD he has given others but I don't know if I can watch by near death experiance. As for weather my surgeon was at fault or if it was just an unavoidable complication I have to admits that eats at me. I want to know. I may ask for that DVD and let my family members who are doctors in other fields view it. I just need to know what happen for sure and why it happened. Odd for this thread to get resurrected by a new member who has only posted twice.
  12. I agree, I know some have been unkind to you and even bragged about running you off but please know some really do care. Let us know you are ok please.

    Pain...

Praying for your grand baby and you. I think Iggy has good advice for you consider see a different doctor
  16. Iggy what you went through was horrid beyond what our minds can grasp! You are now bravely trying to stand in the way and wave the caution flag for others to avoid the same route. I applaud you for caring enough about others to do that. To all: There will always be those who have missed the warnings and report their mistakes. Once those people call for help I think it is fair that they hear the horror of what could happen. I also feel it is fair that someone is there to say now get back on the track and come this way it is better. I am quite disturbbed if on our support form there is any gloating about telling someone off or scaring them away. What exactly would we accomplish if all we did was scare people away? Susan's work is certainly not done!

    Pain...

Lay one binder on the bed flat. Lay othe on top of it pressing down the top on to the bottom so the Velcro takes hold. Wrap the two connected pieces around you and connect with second velcro line. It is really har to keep the two together. I did not find these binders helpful but instead they frustrated me with their bulkiness and squeezing.
  18. Wow really? Hope not because I am here to support her!
  19. So happy your home! I am another quite follower. You have many rooting for you!
  20. Every couple of days there is a thread with these slip ups. Last one was a chocolate chip cookie and the one before that was a dry piece of toast. Some are going to hit you hard because they fear you will cause a leak. They have lived through it and will feel the need to make you understand what your risking. Every doctor is different and there is no gold standard to when you can eat what in reality but many here do not feel a nipple of junk food is not worth suffering through the torments of a leak! Others here are eatting steak by week three. Here is my thoughts on your post. You are still trapped in a familiar pattern of failing to resist the temptation, that is cause for concern. It is hard to be full on liquids so I will say I think the temptation is bigger now than it will be when you can fill up on Protein before the chic fila and the movie. However the fact remains in order to set a new pattern that will lead to a healthier you, your going to have to be able to say no. The answer does not lie in removing all temptation because our love ones still want to eat and go places. The answer comes from with in you. Why did you have surgery? What were your goals? Now why your thinking of those (and I would go as far as to write them out) do a reality check on how you are the one sabatoching your own goals. After completing this exercise you are back at square one, time to start over. Read through the list of goals and determine not to be the one to sabatoch your own goals. You can be successful by simply not giving up. When things have went wrong pick yourself up, refocus on the goal, and get moving forward. That is a pattern that will lead to success. I know you can do this!

Weight Watchers smart ones mini cheeseburgers

Thanks and you even provided a coupon wow!
  22. The sensible side of me says it is impossible to gain weight when I am not getting 700 calories a day however the scale says I have! When I visited the doc at 2 weeks out I was 257 Dow from 277 pre op. I was moved to purée and my cholesterol and high blood meds where stopped. My BP meds had a small amount of Fluid pill mixed in. So I am thinking that may be part of the issue; my body might be retaining fluid. I am sipping Water or decaf tea/coffee all day except for the 30 before/ 30 after I eat. I am only eatting 3 times a day. Breakfast is 30 gram Protein shake and then get the other 30 in purée foods at lunch and dinner. I do not get 64oz but I am getting close as I phyisically can. I am walking about as much as possible, although I am not allowed to do any heavy workout yet. I am at a lost as to what I can do to start the loss up again! Any help welcome!
  23. We will save this thread and laugh one day I hope!
