Protein Drink & 3 Meals A Day?
doxieville replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ah! Ok. That makes sense. My NUT has never been into me counting calories. Carbs, yes, but nothing else. I'll see her in a few weeks and ask. Thanks! -
Rushed To Emergency With A Bowel Blockage! Need Advise From Other Sleeve Patients!
doxieville replied to PJ713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So, did you have emergency surgery? -
Oh, you are not silly at all! And if people on this board come down on you, I'll be behind you 100%. The 'girls' are a part of us. God created women to have beautiful breasts to nurture and sustain life. They also make us feel beautiful. IMHO there is nothing more gorgeous that the gentle swoop of womans breast. That being said, mine are deflating and going downhill quickly and i will have them lifted and redone once the dust settles. FYI, I'm a female and happily married, but that sure doesn't stop me from admiring the human form, male or female. :-)

Could be sore muscles from coughing, gallbladder, a tear, a leak....THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW IS TO CALL YOUR SURGEON. NOW. :-) We yell because we care. We are all in this together. -

Question About Codeine
doxieville replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, you can have it. Just make sure the codeine doesn't constipate you. We are given Loratab in the hospital and that codiene. Feel better! -
Body Aches And Meloxicam
doxieville replied to msdebb04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! Use a pillow between your legs when you sleep. Your hips need the support. And find a doc that will treat you. You may need to be more assertive in your care. I have chronic pain and i have a whole protocol of meds. Good luck! -

doxieville replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, that's funny!! Opps!! Hey, can you imagine if i meant 9/21/2011?? Last year? And witn only that small of a weight loss?? I WOULD consider that a failed sleeve!! Correct date: 8/21/2012. :-). -
Why, I Am Loosing So Little?
doxieville replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 9/21 and have 'only' lost 12 pounds since my surgery. Just relax and try not to worry. SO many factors go into how fast you lose it. ButtertheBean has a great article about why our body stalls. I happen to think its also why we lose it slower than others. I know that in the past when i've dieted, the scale has ALWAYS screeched to a halt at 213. Always. And I've always given up. That's where I'm at now and this time, thanks to my new tool, I won't be the one giving up! Eventually the numbers will move, down this time, not up. :-) You will lose it if you follow the plan. Honestly. -

Severe Stabbing Pain!
doxieville replied to PiggyPantsPaige's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know what? This actually may not put a 'bump' (lol) on your weight loss. Babies don't use their moms current fat storage to help them grow. I suspect that you will be pleasantly suprised at the shape your body is going to take. You'll be losing fat where it's been stored, but you'll be growing a beautiful bump. I think its great!!! Just make sure you eat really healthy and take your vitamins. That's going to be extra important now. And your little baby is going to have LOTS of 'sleever aunts & uncles' to help watch over the little tyke! We want ALL the details. Chin up, in 9 months you'll have a beautiful baby and as a sleever you'll be able to lose any extra baby weight pretty quickly. Although i really doubt you'll gain a whole lot of extra weight. Hugs!! -
Severe Stabbing Pain!
doxieville replied to PiggyPantsPaige's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Didn't they test you pre-op for pregnancy? Man, every time I had any test pre-op, i was tested. Even though i'm 52!! So...is this happy news or not quite....? -
Which Is Worse....vsg Or C-Section?
doxieville replied to Nick'sMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
C-section was worse by far!!! The pain from the actual cutting & surgery of the sleeve in nothing. It's the nausea and trying to drink that's hard. -
This definitely stinks!! Here's a thought, do you need Protein shakes? I know a lot of people have shakes that they can't drink. Would you be willing to try people's rejects? I've got Vitamins I can't use from the doctor becuase I'm allergic to Vitamin A. They are really good chewble vitamins. I only ate 3 of them and then I broke out in hives. The brand is fusion. Just PM if you want me to mail them to you. Anyway, just wondering if we could help you that way. The world is really hard right now and we need to support those that we can. Hugs!

Protein Shakes And Fear Of Hurling
doxieville replied to billyvmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Didn't you just get out of the hospital 2 days ago? Don't worry about Protein shakes for now. Stick with Clear Liquids till you body & tummy have time to adjust. You WILL lose weight down the road. Right now your priority is to heal and adjust to your new tummy. Have you taken any stool softners? I really, really like Miralax. I just take about a teaspoon a day in 4oz of Water a day and it keeps me pretty regular. You will need to take the normal dosage of any stool softener to get going. That's IF you feel like you need to go. You may not because you haven't had much intake. Take things day by day. You really don't want to get dehydrated or you will keep being nauseous. Gentle hugs!! -
First Major Stall
doxieville replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein shakes, cheese sticks, tuna, Power Crunch bars (yummy! Like vanilla wafer cookies) and more protein shakes. I try to drink 2 a day right now. -
Grocery List
doxieville replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get samples and small containers! That's my advice. I am SO glad I listened to others on here and only got small of everything. I was a sweet girl all the way and now I can't stand sweet. I loved my vanilla Chike! Powder pre-surgery and now i can't stand it. I REALLY didn't think that would happen to me. My tastes for sweets may come back, but I'm really glad I didnt waste a bunch of money. Good luck!
