Sugar Free Hard Candy After Sleeve?
doxieville replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Seeleesofme; Just an FYI, because everyone is different! My weight started to come off when I began eating. I lost very little when I was on liquids and I'm sure it was because my body went 'here she goes again with this starvation diet! Gotta hold on to my fat 'cause she's gonna starve me!'. LOL!!! Again, everyone is different! To me, ANY weight loss is a victory. I don't care how slowly it goes. Good luck!

Hope For Second Year Sleevers
doxieville replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You work out 3-4 times a DAY?? How long are your workouts? I'm no expert....but isn't that a bit too much? Hopefully someone who knows will chime in here, but I think you could be putting your body in a caloric deficit and your body is holding on to what it's got for dear life. I think..i could be wrong! :-) -
Gallbladder :-(
doxieville replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What area of the country do you live? I'm just curious because it seems like the hospital isn't qualified on something as basic as a gallbladder. Not knocking rural towns, I lived in a beautiful place for over 20 years, but the downside is a lack of medical care. -
I know!!! Protein shakes are a lifesaver. 'real food' is probably better and more natural for us, but at the level of grams we need...that's a lot of food on a tiny tummy!

Sleeping On Stomach
doxieville replied to mamitalosingit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Really tuck a pillow under your tummy and then try to kinda roll/lean on top of it. You don't want your belly to sag and the pillows will support and lift up your belly. -
How And When Did You...
doxieville replied to Queen In Me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome!! You've asked the million dollar question.....I suggest that you do a search on here and you'll find quite a few discussions on this topic. Some people are pretty darn passionate about their responses. :-). I picked a select few to tell and have let it go at that. Personally, I just don't want to deal with other people's issues and drama because I'm very low-key. The joy of this surgery is you lose it gradually and mostly consistently and it can mimic the benefits of following a stable weight loss plan. I may tell people later, or i may say I've been going to see a nutritionist. Or i may smile & wink. All those are MY choices. You need to deal with this how YOU want to deal with it. Not what your friends and family want for you. They don't live in your body, they do. The only advice I do have is that if you have lots of family events that involve food, you may find it easier to tell people because you WILL be eating differently and that's harder to hide, although not impossible. For now, maybe just tell a few people who you KNOW will suport you. Just remember though, once you've told one person, your secret isn't a secret anymore. Good luck and I hope you enjoy this board. We can be a rowdy group at times. -

Why I Am So Dang Thirsty For Water
doxieville replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is really hard to strectch your new tummy. You have to overfill it constantly for months and really work at abusing it. Have you tried popsicals? They really helped my thirst. Breyers makes the best SF and low carb ones. -
It's actually not that hard. I found about 4-5 different drinks that I really liked and just rotated them. A few refreshing ones, a few heavier Soups like cream of brocolli which i used an immersion blender to chop till smooth, and a broth. And I stayed busy and didnt watch any tv commercials! Good luck!

Didnt Think I Would Feel So Hungry!
doxieville replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, I could write a book with what i've made my poor husband do with his food! Last week i made him toast his bread out on the porch. He turned away for a minute and one of our dogs almost got his toast. Poor guy! I have found of all the boullions and plain broths that Wylers is the best of the bunch. Hang in there! It does get better. -

I think that a lot of us had hiatal hernias repaired, much to my suprise! Sorry to hear that you are still in the hospital! Why are they keeping you so long? Because of the heartburn? That stinks! -
August Sleeves?!
doxieville replied to gettinMeBack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 8/21. Still on soft foods for another week. I'm doing ok. liquids are easy for me. I'm finding that my 'food lazy's' are coming back and sometimes I'd rather just drink a Protein shake than go into the kitchen and fix food. That laziness made me fat, so I really need to be careful. Highest weight: 253 DOS: 234 Last weeks weight: 214 I'm losing gradually compared to the average 'honeymoon' losses, and I really don't mind. I lost a lot pre-surgery so I'm sure my body is just adjusting. 20 pounds in almost a month isn't something I could have done w/o my sleeve! -

Help I Think I'm Dumping
doxieville replied to ljperez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh no! I'm so sorry! Isn't it crazy how powerful a grip those food emotions have on us? Hang in there! When this episode is over you need to come up with a better plan for next time you are upset that doesnt have to do with food. Something you only will pamper yourself with when you are upset and want to eat. In the dog training world its called a 'high value treat.'. And 'treat' doesnt always mean food. Hugs! -
Great visual, sassypants!!! Lol!! Loved it! And IMHO small boobs can be just as effective as big boobs. It's all how you use 'em, baby! :-).

B-12 Shots? How Much Do I Take?
doxieville replied to sarahmoni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, please call your doctor if it isn't on the bottle. Everyone is different, so please do NOT go by what someone else is taking. You could harm yourself. -
Wait....a doctor gave you shots, as in injections, and didn't explain what to do??
-

Oh, don't misunderstand!! I'll take saggy and deflated over fat & unhealthy ANY DAY!! :-).

Outfit To Travel On Long Flight Post Op.
doxieville replied to germen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One on the right. The striped one is cute but it looks like its pulled in at the waisf? You want big and billowy. Nothing that will pull anywhere at the waist or around your tummy.
