Have You Lost Friendships/relationships Since Weight Loss?
doxieville replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This just reminded me, included in the surgoens paperwork that I had to sign was a statement that said something to the effect that patient is aware that this sugery can cause relationship issues which could led to divorce and that the surgoen suggests counseling but is not liable for the demise of any relationship. I found that kinda sad....... -
I figured! But these days, with *cough cough* some people jumping all over what we post, I wanted to cover my shrinking a*s and not turn this thread into a warzone. :-) Is it any better?

More like restless legs? Could be a deficiency. Keep an eye on them tonite and do make sure you call your doc in the morning if you won't call him now. The other poster was right, you really don't want to mess around with a blood clot so it should be ruled out by a medical person- not us on here. :-).

Is This Normal? Help!
doxieville replied to altagirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally normal! And the other people are right, go back to clear. You really don't want to get dehydrated. Just because the doc says you can start full, doesnt mean you HAVE to. Good luck!! -
I THINK that extra Water isn't recommended. As a soup its part of the meal. The reason for the restriction is because you want to start with an empty sleeve to start with. Then after you eat, if you drink, the liquid pushes the food thru faster and you get hungrier sooner. I have an auto-immune disease where my cells don't create enough mucous/liquid. So I HAVE to drink while eating or I can't swallow because I have very little saliva. I was afraid that I wouldnt qualify for the surgery because of the drinking, but the surgeon understood and waived the no drinking for me. So, its not that bad things will happen if you have liquid w your food, it just isnt the best use of your new tool.

Old Habits Are Hard To Break, The Art Of Not Wasting Food
doxieville replied to CamarilloCA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please DO go see a therapist. I did. While I wasn't eating food that might be questionable, i had the opposite problem. When we were punished as children the food was taken away. If we were good we were allowed dessert. Of course, we were good/bad according to his mood. It was a VERY abusive household. As an adult, i continued this behavoir. I'd starve myself and splurge. I was a mess. It wasnt until earlier this year when I saw the therapist to start this process that I was really able to connect the dots. And I'm an intelligent woman!! The abuse that we sustain as children really needs to be worked thru for our own peace of mind. I still struggle with it. Not with the splurging thanks to my neat sleeve, but not eating because I don't think I deserve something yummy. I fight with that feeling a lot. So yes, please, you are worthy of fresh food!! -
Good point! I forgot about that. Are your legs hot or swelling anywhere? And if its still happening, you should call now. Not wait till tomorrow.

Does The Sweating Stop?
doxieville replied to Paigers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL!!! That's what my hubby keeps saying. We are in Texas and i told him that next year our bill should be lower. We have an a/c system where it is divided by sections and i DO keep my office & work room (i work w dogs with behavioral issues) at 68 degress! I can't STAND sweating around clients unless we are working outside. It's so embaressing. -

Does The Sweating Stop?
doxieville replied to Paigers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two weeks ago I was waiting for my leak test and i was freezing!! (i was fully dressed.). When the surgeon came in he chuckled. He pointed out that in June i was in the same room when I first met him. Now, 30 some pounds lighter, i didnt have as much 'insulation.' He was right!! And I rememeber sitting there with my husband that first day and worrying if i'd have to get undressed because I was all sweaty. (i didn't). So yeah, i DO think the sweating is much better. -
That's really true for me too. I honestly think we are 'disgusted' by the food because so many of us are still prone to nausea. This IS an interesting and honest thread, we just don't need the redundant bickering.

WTG!!!!! -
Or potassium. That happens too. Personally, I'd put a call in to your surgeon. You were just done, so he needs to tell you what you can take. Hang in there!

I'm with Cookeeeeez......possibly nuts :-). But let's drop this. Enough. I don't come here to be lectured, or judged. I come here to help me cope and help others with my limited experience. There's enough tension in our 'real' life, we don't need it here. I, for one, just won't be reading certain people's posts anymore.

Have You Lost Friendships/relationships Since Weight Loss?
doxieville replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have. A person who I thought was a close friend rarely contacts me anymore. Basically her attitude has been 'lucky you' & jealousy. Even though I tried to explain the process and then downplayed how lucky i am. She's lost and gained the samw 70 pounds over and over again. I gave up. A person who's a truly good friend would support & be by my side. Very sad. But at 51yrs of age, I'm way past changing to make people like me. Give me a few really close 'sister friends' rather than a room full of aquaintances.
