Watch Jay Leno Tonight!
doxieville replied to jacksmommy719's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't watch Apprentice, but was she the one Arsenio had a difficult time with? I remember him on The View talking abt someone who was constantly mean and extremely inappropriate... as in lots of racial slurs. He was saying that there was no need for her to keep going 'there.' Was that Lisa? That's a shame if it was; good way to tank a career IMHO. -

Really Random Question...guys Beware
doxieville replied to twoplusone227's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just tell the nurses. My hospital had thicker pads to put under me and they laid flat on the bed. They want no pads, no tampons, no underwear. Nobody blinked a odd eye when i told them. Nurse just pulled out the extra pad for the bed. No worries. -

I did! It was a beautiful dress, but if i were her i wld have worn a dress with sleeves because she was on TV. For everyday life no need to hide it, but she would have looked classier w better arm coverage. And i really wanted to see a pix of her husband! Good for her for speaking out. -

August Sleeves?!
doxieville replied to gettinMeBack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In May I was 253 on my first appt w the surgeon. Surgery date 8/21: 218 This week: 212 Yep, only a 6 pound weight loss since my surgery 5 1/2 weeks ago and I'm ok with it. I've lost many inches. Went from a 24 pants to 18. 3x shirt to 1x or large. I am enjoying this ride and loving life. I'm following my doctors orders and doing the program. The weight will come off when it's good and ready to. I am a 51 year old woman in menopause. I lost 40 pounds pre-surgery in 3 months! Of course my body has stalled. It's freaked out! It's saying WTH?? I am not releasing more fat!! Lol. I am a SLOW LOSER and totally ok with it. Want to know why? Two reasons: this fat will NEVER return, unlike my previous weight losses. AND i am learning HOW to eat for life and enjoyment. If I was losing the weight really rapidly I'm not too sure i'd be ok when I got to maintenance. Now I know i will be because i am learning how to eat. Cheers everyone! Enjoy this wonderful opportunity we've been given!! -

What exactly is the definition of a slider food? Is it something you can eat easily? I am starting to think that my power crunch bar is a slider food. I could eat 3 or more a day.

Stupid Carb Question.

Catracks- I just can't get into coconut oil. Maybe i'm not using it correctly! Anyway, my NUT keeps telling me that fat is my friend. I've embraced that and i eat SO much healthier now. Silly low fat craze. That added more poundage to my body than anything else. -

When You Were 3 Months Post-Op Vsg How Many Pounds Had You Lost?
doxieville replied to Karen2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm gonna annoy some people.....but, come on! These numbers you all are mentioning are FANTASTIC!!!! It's pounds that are coming off and you'll never see again! That's the miracle of this surgery. Not that it's coming off 'slowly.' If you really wanted to lose it quickly then you picked the wrong surgery, should have done the bypass. As long as you are following your program and exercising, it will come off. Stop beating yourselves up. Enjoy the process! It really is a miracle what is happening to our bodies. So stop comparing yourself to others. It's all apples and oranges. :-) -
I LOVE my immersion blender. I am a lazy cook and i don't like to make a mess. (I really should get help for this issue!) anyway, i use the blender all the time bcs i can mix in the container i'm using. And it blends so smoothly.

I don't agree. I have auto-immune issues with pain. The surgeon needed to know so he could help keep any pain from flares under control. Also, many insurance companies approve faster and w/o making you jump thru as many hoops if you have what's called a comorbtality. (I didn't spell that correctly.) But basically a disease that weight loss would improve from. Also, it's just not safe for you to go under the knife and your care team not know everything about your health. Good luck!

BTB, i loved that post!!! Chips & crackers aren't my downfall. I'm pretty sure you nailed it last nite: those yummy power crunch bars are a trigger food for me.

Am I Eating Too Much? Sleeved Aug 14Th.
doxieville replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm going to address something you said that the others didn't...about stretching your sleeve. Please do a search on here for this topic. It's next to impossible to stretch your sleeve. You really have to work hard at constantly stuffing yourself. I was sleeved on 8/21 and I'm enjoying a whole variety of food. Switch things up! Start enjoying your food. -

Stalls.... Hate Them!
doxieville replied to lasuber's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been in a stall and for the past two days have been a little more relaxed on my carb intake. Today I was down a pound. No rhyme or reason! For me, I'm happy with my new life and for the potential for whatever i'm going to lose. Stalls are just a part of it.. At least, that's my thinking this week! Next week may be different! :-) -
After Surgery Pain
doxieville replied to ladyofdamage's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 weeks out too! Am slowly starting to exercise. Had to wait & must start slowly due to other factors. Anyway. My muscles are sore from exercise but my surgery area feels normal....until I sneezed last nite. Holy Toledo!! My left side pulled and pinched and I felt like i was back in day 1!!! Then nothing....i'm fine now. So even after 5 weeks there's still some healing and stitch dissolving going on in there.
