Home From Hospital! My Highlights.....
doxieville replied to fattymcfatterson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi!! I am so glad all went well!! Two surgeries at the same time? Woozers!! Did they do both of them laporscopy? (Sp?). So now will you go on hormone replacements? Hope i'm not being too forward, its just that this may be in my future. Please let us know if you have any questions. I remember there were a couple times my first month when I sent out an S.O.S post because i was confused about something. You can only prepare yourself ahead of time up to a point. Take care of yourself! Judy -
Husband Sabotaging Weight Loss',,,,,bstrd
doxieville replied to navyjd7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, i thought my husband would jump on my bandwagon with me and eat healthy. Then I thought abt if the positions were reversed....i wouldn't want him dictating what I eat. Even though we are partners, we each have our individual paths to take on the weight journey. That being said, your hubby could be more considerate of you. I told my husband he has from 7am-5pm m-f to eat junk food (when he's at work.). And he needed to take advantage of that time and not eat my fav junk foods at home. He's done that so far. But in your case, you've also got your kids to worry about. They need to learn from you how to eat healthy or they may go down the obesity road too. You are in a tough spot. My heart feels for you. Good luck. -
They look cool! I don't measure my liquids very often but if i did, i'd get this set. (I weigh most everything except things measured in tsp/tbsp. i have oxo nesting measuring spoons.)

Carbs, Carbs, Carbs!
doxieville replied to buforu21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BTB, the one consistent thing about this surgery and all it entails is how different every person and their plan is. Its a bit freaky for something so scientific (the surgery) to be so different at the same time. It must drive the people who are studying this nuts. :-) -
Awesome! I'm going to buy some. Thanks!

Is that the same as the fake nails? They cover your nails?

Severe Constipation
doxieville replied to For-me-and-only-me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to take something. Many of us take something regularly as proactive. I use Miralax. But you have to make sure you drink your Water with this one. Do a search on this. There are some really good answers on here. Good luck! -
My Minds Eye Just Can't Seem To See The New Me
doxieville replied to theoldmusicbox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take a picture or two and print it. Make a hard copy. Look at yourself that way for awhile. Your brain has a much easier time of adjusting to a solid pic that the reflection in the mirror. -
Carbs, Carbs, Carbs!
doxieville replied to buforu21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still have mixed feelings and am figuring out how i want to eat. I like the low carb- atkins diet plan. Breads never excite me. But fats do! Butters, creams, cheeses, all that yummy stuff is zero or low carbs. And my weight loss is in a stall right now. Major stall. I had let more carbs creep in and maybe that's what is slowing down my weight loss. But regardless, I agree that once we hit maintaince we dont have to deprive ourselves. But with 100 pounds to lose, yeah, i do still think i need to 'diet'. I sure could be wrong though!!! -
Drugstore? Grocery store? Or some place classier? Thanks!! :-)

This Is Going A Little Too Well!
doxieville replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't say that i'm eating TOO fast. Just faster. It now takes me 30 minutes to eat instead of an hour. . It's kinda nice. I just wondered if when veterans eat too fast, but don't overeat, if their tummy is ok. -
Freaking Myself Out
doxieville replied to LawDiva312's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Breath! Calm down. :-). You probably pulled at your incision stitches. You can't spring a leak in your new tummy by lifting a few boxes. So keep an eye on your incisions for discharge. Oh, and you will prob hurt more tomorrow. -

Should I Be Concerned ?
doxieville replied to ChinaWood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chinawood, it has happened to MANY of us. No worries but do check w your doc if it gets out of hand. You don't want to become anemic. -
