My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken

Great post SuperS! And I think many of us agree with you. What bothers me about the OP is he's saying have what people are obsessing about only 2 weeks out. That really doesn't help develop true better eating habits down the road. -

Forgot to mention the OP about Caffeine. (I'm not going to copy the whole post, just go to the OP if you are just joining us.). It IS bad for those with more acidic stomachs. It truly is. I'm not a coffee drinker so if coffee drinkers want to help me here, i'm pretty sure that caffeine/coffee is acidic? And that's the last thing our poor 'new' tummies need. -

My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken

Or what about people who have severe (non weight) related issues like auto-immune diseases? What about....the list is endless. We really aren't two groups as if we are divided down the middle. At least I hope not! I really wasn't going to post as i was enjoying just reading all the silly going ons. But, this one got me. I thought the whole idea of this forum was accepting each others individuality? As for the OP? I put his post down as excitement. He's only 2 weeks out, people! Remember the ups and downs and aha moments your first month? True, I think it was rather irresponsible to spout off as he did as if it were all facts, but did you guys catch that he's a 'motivational speaker?' I'll keep my personal feelings out of that profession, but most are paid to speak as if what they say is the honest to God only way to be. (I say most because there are SOME good motivational speakers out there. Opps, my opinion got in the way.) I just hope that newbies follow their doc's orders because your doctor is the one who is helping you with your care. If he doesn't want you to have that dorito, don't have it! About Obsessing? If someone is so obsessive about food post surgery that they are going agnst their docs orders, then if they don't get help for their eating disorder (which led us all to this surgery to begin with) then down the road they will more than likely have a harder time. So to me, it's sad that the OP was celebrating that it's ok to disobey their personal docs orders. Again, I rarely join these debates, but this one bugs me on too many levels to be quiet. -
What Are Some Products That You Rely On For Your Wl Journey?
doxieville replied to Susie in Lima's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't spend your 30 pounds on ready to drink shakes. Even though everyone love the premium drinks at Costco/sams one box is too heavy. We used to live in Brazil so I know exactly what you are talking about. Those 'carepackets' people used to bring us were the highlights of our year!! I always asked for juicy fruit gum. Silly. BTW, in High School I was the Girl from Ipamena. Blonde, busty and skinny. I miss that body. SO wasted on the youth!! Lol. Anyway....can you order a bunch of sample stuff to be sent where your friend will be? I REALLY like the power crunch bars. They taste like vanilla wafers. But I like them so much that I had to limit myself!! I can snap a photo if you are interested. -

Any August Sleevers Living In Stall Hell?
doxieville replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in a stall, but I wouldn't say it's hell. I've only lost about 6 pounds post-op. while it is a bit disappointing, i get it. I lost 30+ pounds in the 3 month pre-op diet. I know my body and it has always fought me at 210(ish.). Seems to be it's resting point. I know that it will start to lose again. Nobody on here has not lost the weight (or regained it all) unless not on program. And i'm learning how to eat. So i'm happy. And of course I'll be happier when the scale moves again. Sleeved 8/21 Current weight 212 Date in May: 253 -
Can You Shrink Your Sleeve?
doxieville replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Peacequeen, I wondered where you went. Suddenly we were missing your posts. I'm sorry that things are rough right now. Death is never easy nor is there such a thing as 'closure.' Oh, I do hate that word. I've lost many people close to me. I can tell you that your pain lessens, and your heart finds a place to put that pain, but darned if it doesn't come out at the damnedest times! Time is not really a huge factor, grief is the same. Months or years from the event. But, besides that, you said other things were going on. Can you tackle one problem at a time? Compartmentalize? My surgeon told me that you have to eat to excess for about a year to permanently stretch your sleeve. While you were gone someone started a post on MFP. Many people added their names to befriend each other. Maybe adding lots of new friends would help you? To kick you when you are down is cruel, so i hope that nobody here gives you a lecture. You made that first crucial step by reaching out. Start taking things one day at a time and don't look at the big picture yet. Gentle hugs, Judy -
Sick Sick Sick Sick Sick
doxieville replied to sabbymomof3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's a pretty normal reaction. The first few weeks are hard! Between trying to figure out this new way of eating, new way of looking at food AND dealing with discomfort? Yeah, even mellow me was having a really hard time. Hugs! -
Lol! Oops!! I missed the eating part of this post!! Are you on MY Fitness pal? That's the best way to see what others are eating. Do a search on here- everyone posted their MFP names so people can friend them.

I was sleeved 8/21. I pretty much stalled right away. Was 218 surgery day and am 212 now. However, i lost 30+ pre-op and am currently losing inches. (The reflection in the mirror is so sad...everything is deflating. My ass is going to drop to my ankles!) I'm 51 and I'm sure my body is just refusing to let go of the pounds i've been carrying around forever. I weigh myself once a week although this week it will be 2x bcs i go for my 2 month postop visit to the surgeon and nutritionist.

Low Bmi Questionnnnnn
doxieville replied to letsdothis!!!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a question and i'm asking this only because i'm trying so hard to wrap my head around the whole BMI equation. I am not judging ANYONE on their choices to have this surgery. If you have a BMI of 39 (just pulling this randomly) how much weight must you lose to be considered 'normal?' To me, it just seems like the whole equation of BMI is slanted. It doesn't take muscles or heavier structure into consideration...or does it? Confused! And please don't send me a link to go look at a chart. I've looked at plenty and still think it's skewed. Thanks! -
Me too! I'm going to pamper myself with the pro version. I'm probably going to get the baking accessory so I can make the healthy dinner muffins. What are peoples thoughts on the extender and the pizza set? It's just my hubby and I but I like leftovers. :-). Thanks!

Food Sweats And Feeling Drink Temp On Skin?
doxieville replied to Tanya_cotto's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That does sound kinda odd. I'd call my doc. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Do you have a fever? I've read on here that fevers always come w leaks, but there's always the exception. So still call your doc. Also, is there any chance you are in menopause? I'm on my phone so i can't look at your profile. Best of luck! -
Mgsmith- you really DO need to call your doctor tomorrow or you may end up in the ER w dehydration. I also want to mention that 3 weeks out i was still on liquids. I dont think i wld have been able to handle those foods either. BUT, just the fact that even liquids aren't comfortable for you means you NEED to call your doctor before things get worse.

Hi! With all the great nutrients my nails are growing long & strong. I've always kept them short bcs they broke easily. But i'm rethinking that. Can anyone recommend a good nail polish that won't peel off in a few days? I haven't worn nail polish in years! Thanks.

My Progress So Far (9-10 Weeks) & Dating Advice?
doxieville replied to Izuri's topic in Singles Forum
You look great!!!! Don't be afraid of pauses. Seriously. Just breathe thru the silence and be ok w yourself. No need to babble on just for the sake of covering up the silences. Oftentimes you hear people say that 'i really like that person bcs the silences were not uncomfortable.' Good luck & report back!! :-) -
Sugar Is Fresh Fruit
doxieville replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You do need to be careful. The sugars can add up, even if its 'good sugar.' Are you losing weight ok? If so, go ahead and add some fruit. If your weight loss stops (and you aren't in a 'body readjusting stall' where you are still losing inches) then make sure you aren't eating too many sugars from your fruit. My Fitness pal is really a great way to track your intake. -
LjP, which model are you thinking of getting?

It also looks like it could make the cupcakes from eggfaces blog. If the bakery set is purchased. Is this true?

Does it make the house hot like an oven does? I refuse to use my oven during the hot texas summers. My hubby has gotten quite talented with the grill. He even cooked a self rising pizza crust pizza on it tonite. For himself, of course. It had pepperoni so i wasn't tempted.
