Don't you guys get constipated taking that much calcium? Are you also taking iron?
-
Probably that....and doctors. More women go to docs than men do. I've been dealing w arthritis since my 20's and was told that females lose bone mass faster than males. But, i'm sure my info is outdated. I thank you for updating me!

I'll be darned! I always thought that women needed more. Thanks for the info! Gotta up my hubbies dose. Nice updated photo!! Look at how handsome you are.

How long have you been throwing up? Can u keep ice chips down? Do you have a fever? If you have a fever you may want to go to emergency care.

I can't go w/o eating or i get nauseous. My NUT now has me drinking a Protein shake before i go to sleep bcs I was waking up nauseous. If made a huge difference. But, if this continues you may need to see a doc. You don't want to get dehydrated.

Calcium Citrate Versus Calcium Carbonate For Post-Op Sleevers?
doxieville replied to Need-a-Sleeve's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was told years ago that Citrate was the best form of Calcium. Our bodies can absorb it easier and that was years before my sleeve. As for the OP taking 6, that really is an awful lot. You may be wasting your money if you are eating a healthy diet. -

Does Anyone Else Eat As Much As Me?
doxieville replied to lizzybean3377@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your intake looks normal, and healthy to me! Are you losing weight? If so, don't worry!! -
I'm in the same boat. Surgery was 8/21. I've lost 6 or so pounds postop. I am working closely w my NUT. Yesterday she switched up my plan. 20 or less (less is preferable) carbs. That's my only restriction. I can have unlimited calories & fats, etc. To ME, it looks like you just aren't getting enough food in your system. Are you eating or drinking a Protein shake every 3 hours?

High Protein "snack" Ideas.... Lets Start A List To Refer To When We Need Ideas
doxieville replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT has 'banned' all fat free/non fat items from my diet plan. Fat doesn't store as fat. The more i'm learning, the more I really think all those 'fake foods' did me in. I am VERY carb sensitive so my NUT and Surgeon have both agreed that i need to go on a low carb plan. (Less than 20 grams.) The benefit to this is i don't have to count any carbs or fats. I lost 30+ pounds in 2.5 months pre-surgery eating like this. I was AMAZED at the yummy and real food I could eat and was still losing weight. But remember, everyone's body is different. When I get to maintenance (still 70 pounds for that to happen) we will slowly add carbs to my meal plan. But I suspect i will always have to stay low. I gotta tell you guys, I am really grateful to my NUT. At first I wasn't, but she's really stepped up when I needed her, so if you need help and have a NUT, make an appointment! Mine even went into MFP and helped me adjust my numbers on my diary. -
Just be careful. Consult with your doctor. It really makes a different in M/F and age. Women needs are more than men.

Anyone In The Food And Beverage Industry?
doxieville replied to My350z06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Find the smallest water bottle possible and kept it in your pocket. Every time you can, take a sip. How much down time will you have? And there are many food industry people here so i'm sure they'll help. Good luck! -

Clear Liquid Help!
doxieville replied to ThinnerTiff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's a no to protein shakes. At least for me it was. Think of it this way: the clearer you drink the cleaner your colon will be, the easier time you'll have with your bowels the few days after your surgery. -
How Many Carbs Do We Really Need?
doxieville replied to Capt Derel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for posting this informative article. I've been working closely with my NUT and we've discovered that I am VERY carb sensitive. Just yesterday we lowered it to 20 grams, but that's my high end. Between 30-40 I wasn't losing any weight. Was sleeved 8/21. Lost 30+ pounds in 3 months on >20 grams a day. Then after being sleeved I relaxed my carbs. Have lost 6 or so pounds in 7 weeks. So....time to lower the carbs again and see what happens. Capt- where are you? You mentioned that you aren't at home. -
It does get better, and soon. I'm 7 weeks out. I still can only eat small amounts, but i'm less picky now than I was the first 5 weeks. It IS a learning process and once you figure it out you won't be ruled by food anymore. Right now your bodies are trying to figure out WTH happened. :-)

Confused ... Need Advice..
doxieville replied to jodyjo10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why don't you join My Fitness Pal with many of us? Do a search on here and you'll find threads with people offering to be friends. Make your diary visible to friends. Then we can all look at your intake and see where it could possibly be tweaked. I agree with people's answers. It really sounds like you aren't eating enough and may be eating too many carbs. -

7 Weeks Post Op And No Weight Loss Last 2 Weeks
doxieville replied to jrri2525's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another suggestion my NUT tells me is to have at least one meal w no carbs. Preferably the evening meal, but not necessarily. She said something about it wakes up the body or something.....she told me this in preop in May so i'm really digging into my memory bank. Can anyone confirm this? Or did I make it up? :-)
