Whats The Worst Thing You've Eaten Post Op?
doxieville replied to suzjag's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT has me on some restrictions until i get my weight off. Then it's management and enjoy food w/in reason. If you can handle food in moderation, then go ahead and enjoy small things. I CANNOT. Carbs affect me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. From inflammation to weight gain and everything in between. I "allowed" myself high carb 'healthy' Protein bars 2 weeks ago and wow have i paid for it. I think I finally have my cravings back under control. So for me, for now, I do have dietary restrictions. Again, This new life isn't a one fits all. -

Is There An App For That?
doxieville replied to imlosingit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you log into MFP on the computer you can reset the values. My NUT added fiber and more snacks, upped my cals and lowered my carbs. It is now more tailored to my needs. -
Mine was set by the insurance. I am 5'5" and insurance said I should be 140, and that's how I was qualified. Although my surgeon agrees with the number. I started this at 253. 140 sounds like a dream number to me. Esp since I'm 51 yrs old and losing weight very slowly at an average of about a pound a week. But i keep telling myself that the turtle won the race.....

Hi, are you taking a PPI? Did you ever get anti-nausea meds? You may be dehydrated. I would strongly recommend that you go to your PCP or a walk-in clinic. You could be anemic, dehydrated or many other things. At this point you should be feeling MUCH better.

Pain On The Right Side Of Belly Button
doxieville replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it's normal. You have some internal stitches that are tugging at your internal muscle walls. Do a search on here. You'll find many people with this issue. -
Look at you!!! Your face really shows the 21 pound!!! I don't even go on FB anymore because of pic tagging. BUT, i'm actually going to start a business FB page soon now that I'm not so embarrassed. Amazing how weight has really dragged so many of us down. I've coped, but i don't think i've LIVED.

Ask her!! Just be kind. Don't say anything about your weight loss. Just keep it simple. Maybe a text or email? 'Hey, I have some clothes that might fit you, are you interested?' That's it. If she says yes, put in a nice bag and hand it to her. Let her take it from there. I really like the KISS theory. Keep it simple..... My sis is taking all my clothes. :-)

I Almost Cried In Catherines
doxieville replied to gaye jarvis's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I got all teary eyed when I saw this. Awesome!! Just awesome!! Last month I passed by the stores and thought, i'm never going to shop in those stores again. It's a REALLY weird feeling. I can cut up my silver plated LB card! I've been busy 'shopping' in my own closet! I had so many diff sizes it's embarrassing. Anyway, HUGS to you and all of us future 'regular' clothes shopping. BTW, WHERE DO you now skinny ladies buy your clothes. Casual wear? I really don't want a closet full of Wal-mart specials anymore. -
I'll admit, pre-op my emotions were ALL over the place. This really IS a big deal. It's going to change your life. It's ok to 'breakdown'. I think the picture taking incident was just a trigger. Call your WLS surgeon and see who he recommends as a WLS therapist. Don't just go to any therapist, or you'll get the whole nine yards...unless you want the whole nine yards. Which is ok. :-) I will tell you, I've been hard pressed to find a pre-surgery pic of myself and i regret it. A family friend finally had one- it's the one I put in my profile page. I saw it and cringed, even post-surgery. :-)

How?? Tell us your secret! I have failed at making any Protein shake taste decent. I'm not good with 'fake' flavors.

5 Weeks Out Today And Really Concerned :(

I just want to say something about counseling w/o being contrary, so please...no mean replies. :-) I never was a fan of counseling for me, but it was mandatory for my insurance. I had to go three times. She was a WLS therapist and was great. She didn't delve into my physce or try to force the reasons why I am fat. What she did do was give me wonderful tools to help deal with the ups and downs of the surgery and beyond. When I suggest counseling to someone on here, that's what I am suggesting. Getting the tools to help, not to figure out why the bully in kindergarden is still making someone overeat as an adult, unless that's what they want to figure out. I DO think that the OP could benefit from a qualified WLS therapist by giving her better managing tools. But, it's ultimately what works for her.

I agree 100%!! Legally he can't fire you. But take a step back. Do talk to him like others have said. If he gives no clue, then be relieved. You will either come back to no backlog OR she'll have misfiled everything!! He may really only be trying to be nice. A small business can't afford a nasty law suit. But DO talk to him face to face.

Does Anyone Know The Limit On Carbs?
doxieville replied to mrsdaugherty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's wise to only try one new thing at a time for about a week. Otherwise you won't know what worked!!
