SERIOUSLY?? Shame on people! You are adorable. (I'm a married woman, not trying to be creepy!!) Your hair looks good. Has it stopped falling out?
  3. The pain is in your back? Worse than your usual back pain? Have you had your gallbladder out?

I LOVE your updates!!! The way you wear the same clothes is so clever. You def had a 'pretty face' when you were heavier. Probably annoyed you when people said that. But now you are just adorable!! Keep sharing your successes! Congrats!! And happy birthday! :-) Judy

    Whole Foods

Does anyone shop here? One just opened up in my neighborhood. I'm looking for quick easy tips for meals. I'm post sleeve, almost 3 months out. Only restriction is low carbs. Thanks.

    Weekly Miralax Date

Oh no! Try enemas. I prefer the hard ones vs the liquid. And keep drinking!!! This goes for the OP also! You guys need to poop!!

    Weekly Miralax Date

I take miralax 2x a day. Works for me to split it that way. I also rotate my Iron & Calcium on alternate days. If you haven't had a BM in awhile, STOP taking those till you have a BM. Clear out your system. Then start a regime of a stool softener & alternating calcium & iron. Being impacted can be VERY painful and send you to the hospital.
  9. You've lost 18 pounds!! You should be proud!! J/K!!! Don't slap me, I couldn't resist. There is no doubt that this weight loss 'journey' 'ride' 'new life' (whatever you choose to call it) can be frustrating. You prob did hit the 3 week stall. Many people do. A couple other factors are in play here: How much total weight you need to lose; less weight = a slower process. Body fluids fluctuate so if you are weighing yourself daily you need to keep that in perspective. MANY of us feel in the beginning that something is wrong, or that we will be 'the one' that will go down in the history books as this surgery not working no matter what we do. If you are working your program, you WILL lose the weight. Some people lose it faster than others. People advise on here not to weight yourself daily as the number 1 most important tip. I don't agree. I think not comparing ourselves to others is number 1. You will lose it on your body's timeframe. Keep working the program. Protein, liquids, exercise= total success.

    What You Order At Resturants

When I went from mushies to real food and ate out, I approached it differently than most do, and I still do this. I get something totally different that I wouldn't try anywhere else or cook at home. For me, this is the time to experiment to see what else i can eat. But as a side note, I haven't suffered from any nausea, or slimies, knock on wood. At home I cook & eat fish almost everyday, so when I go out, I want something different and fun. I always order from the appetizer menu and sometimes ask them to switch things around. I tip well so I have no qualms about asking for something special. I even went into a bakery with my son last week. He got a great eggplant sandwich on their incredible bread. I asked for a simple scrambled egg. If you go into local independent restaurants you usually can ask for simple foods that aren't on the menu. I eat so little now that I appreciate what I do eat. To the OP, how'd the trip go?
  11. Mine is size 12. Years ago i dieted down to size 12/14 and I looked good. I have a long skinny face and I think that I'd look too gaunt any smaller. The thought of being a 6 or 8 like some people on here just blows my mind! I'm in awe of those people! My surgeons weight goal for me is 140, my height is 5'5". That's 20 pounds more than I was in high school. Right now I'm 206, and even THINKING being 140 is too crazy!! I'm taking the little successes and enjoying those as they come. That's all my brain can handle right now.
  12. Even your hair is thick and shinny!! Gorgeous!! From what I've read on people's posts who are a year or more out is mostly if they haven't lost all their expected weight loss that it's harder after a year to lose. That the weight loss slows down significantly. But you are an active person with what sounds like lots of motivation, so I think you'll be just fine and lose your weight!! :-)

    Vitamins

For me, this is probably the hardest part of having the surgery!! I am 9 weeks out and am just now starting to force myself to be consistent. Here's what i've been taking: flinestone kids chewable Vitamin. 2x a day w food. Calcium and Iron i alternate daily. If i take both on the same day constipation is an issue. B12 injection monthly. Miralax am/pm. I just had my blood work checked and all my levels are good. I will start up with fishoil again soon for my joints, but I probably won't take Biotin. If my hair is gonna fall out, I'll embrace it. Good luck!!

    Super Saturday Weigh In

I'm going to join in...been lurking on this thread for a few weeks. I was in a stall and didn't feel that posting would help me or anyone else. Silly me. Start weight: April 24th 249.5 Surgery: August 21 226 (guesstimate) Today's weight: 206.5

    Food Frustration!

I don't know what pho is? Your NUT is right that people adjust at different paces, but this does seem awfully slow. Have you seen your surgeon? If not, it may be time. Not to compare yourself to others, but i can easily tolerate 4-6 oz of food in a sitting now. I stick with fish mostly, chicken doesn't sit well yet and i don't eat red meats. Good luck!

    Food Frustration!

Actually, your food tolerance sounds pretty normal for having surgery last month..... except for the heartburn. You need to get that under control. Have you seen the doctor? Are you on a PPI? You do not want to develop ulcers. I take miralax daily and probably will for a long time. Keeps things running smoothly. :-)

    Food Frustration!

So the only thing you can tolerate is liquids? (Shakes & yogurts.) No soft pureed foods? Soups?

    Food Frustration!

Something doesn't sound right. I was sleeved on 8/21 and can tolerate most foods easily, just in small amounts. Are you losing weight? What have you been drinking and eating? Have you been to the doc?

    Whole Foods

Wow! Thanks for the tips!! A Trader Jo's is also opening up in a few weeks, but it's not quite as close as WF's is. Is Trader Jo's a good place too? I've read people talking on here about it.

    Fibromyalgia And Knee Joint Pain

Yes, I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and have 2 knee replacements. Will prob need shoulder replacements one day too. Celebrex is the one drug approved by doctors for people who have WLS. I took it the night of my surgery.

    Complications?

Remind the techs that you have a tiny tummy! You should only need a small amount of the drink/contrast. Good luck!
