  1. Really Pip? I want to hear a report from you if it's really worth it. :-)
  2. I agree w the 3 hour eating plan. I am 10 weeks out. I always drink a Protein shake at 5 am when I wake to feed the dogs. Then at 8 i'll eat 2 oz protein. Then around 12 i'll have more protein and something else 'fun' like half of a wonton muffin. Then a Protein Shake at 3:00, more protein for dinner. And sometimes a treat of fat free hot choc around 7:30. I also always have Crystal light throughout the day, I can't drink Water yet. I don't keep a timetable on purpose, it's my tummy who reminds me it's time to fill 'er up again.

Hi I Am New But Not

Welcome! Don't forget to pop over to postsurgery forum too. We can get really rowdy over there, so watch out!!!!
  4. That's great!!! Those clothes at costco have always been a sore in my side. Nothing ever fit. EVER!! They don't carry any sizes above XL. Which is stupid bcs have you seen the shoppers at costco? Many shapes and sizes!!! I'm going there tomorrow and will see if something fits me!! I agree with you about celebrating. I have no one I can enjoy this ride with except you guys online.

    Body Media...

I have the fitbit. Don't use it a whole lot yet bcs i had some setbacks. But when i was able to use it, i loved it!! I should be walking again in a few weeks & will charge it back up. For xmas i want the scale too!!
  6. Now that's hilarious and memorable. I laughed so loud the dogs started barking!!

    Help!

Have you had a leak test yet?
  8. I think you may have misinterpreted; at least I hope so! I went back and reread the posts bcs i am very cautious not to be rude. Most people like me answered seriously and then joked around. I don't think anyone sees being constipated as dismissive bcs it can really be painful and lead to serious complications. But, that being said, this is also a fun forum and if we can joke amongst us to lighten the mood, I think that's ok. :-)

    Funeral For Hair?

Great info! And what a good program on the color swatches! I think I may do that. Need to find a local wig store first to see what styles look good. I'm 11 weeks out and my hair is falling out. It doesn't upset me, and wearing wigs might be fun!! The dachshund in my profile is an English Cream. Isn't he gorgeous? He was a puppy mill dog. Totally feral. Now he's a mamma's boy. I take it by your name you have 5 dogs? Same here! I rehabilitate them from puppy mills and some just stayed.... :-) They all have helped me. From making me get up to take them out in the early postop days, to cuddling w me on my bad days, to strongly encouraging me to walk them even when I'm feeling lazy. :-)

    Break It To Me Gently!

A pinch. Easy. They use a tool like a weird staple remover that lift the staples up and out. If it REALLY hurts, help by holding down around the area. I've had two knee replacements and around 25 staples on each knee. The ones on my belly were easy removal. Honestly. It LOOKS scarier than it is.

My Progress Post Op Update !

Hey there! I wondered where u went & how ur doing. I'm so glad that you sought treatment for the depression. When those chemicals are out of whack it makes daily life such a struggle. You look great!

    Funeral For Hair?

That's a wig?? Awesome! How does one decide on the best wigs? I'll gladly go that route if need be, but I have no idea where to start! Thanks!

How To Drink Without Gulping Air?

Yep, small sips is really the best idea. Are you taking Gas X? That can help. They come in strips too which is better for the recently sleeved. Good luck!!

    Robotic Surgery?

I had my gallbladder taken out robotically 6 weeks after my sleeve was done. Honestly, the gallbladder spots hurt more than the sleeve did, but for less time. Probably because less was done to me. The spot above my belly button where the camera was placed hurt a lot. But, the incisions are much tinier. So I guess i'd say that there is good and bad to both surgeries.

    Why I Dont Feel Full

That's what I drink also. Good stuff!!
  16. Wear LOOSE clothes there and then just wear those home. I wore a loose dress.

    Why I Dont Feel Full

I think that we've all had that moment of forgetting and then the big uhoh! I did the same thing with water!! OUCH!! As for not being able to drink much yet, it took me and many others on here a good 2 weeks to get the Fluid intake up. Just keep at it! Don't let yourself get dehydrated. This isn't the time to 'diet'. Breyers low carb popsicles saved me when i was recently sleeved.

    Why I Dont Feel Full

Jonathan, my surgeon & NUT explained to me that my new tummy needed to rest & heal before giving it any food to digest. Even well chewed solids were bad news bcs the tummy sees it as needing to digest it. Unlike w solids, it just lets those pass thru. So your tummy wasn't ready to churn on the broccoli. But, ur doc may have told u something diff. The one consistent thing w WLS is how diff all the plans are. :-)
  19. All our dignity goes out the window when we can't take a decent crap!!!

    Why I Dont Feel Full

Also, it's really hard to fill full on liquids. When you start eating solid protein it's a whole new ball game. :-)

    Sugar Alcohol

You are welcome! I'd advise you to eat only 1/4 or 1/2 of it and wait 24 hours. I always feel the symptoms of too much sugar alcohol in about 8-12 hours. What's the name of the protein bar?
