Awww...Rootman, i'm sorry to hear about your doxies. Both at the same time? That's rough. My heart goes out to you. We volunteer for a doxie rescue group and always have a house full of them. I really think that they are such a unique breed. Stubborn as the day is long, but such wonderful and fearless little dogs. I rehab the ones who have been traumatized by puppy mills and it's so rewarding to see when their trust in humanity comes back. Thanks for the reassurance on the hair loss. It's a weird feeling, that's for sure!

Thanks Slim! And I agree! I asked for the names. Don't NOBODY jump all over us. We aren't endorsing any products and we don't make any money off of these products. :-) Personally, for me, I LIKE to know exactly what is working for someone else. Am i going to jump all over Slim if it doesn't work? Of course not!! :-)

I LOVE my hot chocolate!! That helped me a lot when i was first pre-op and getting dehydrated. And a dash of whipped cream tops it off!! I use Nestle's fat free. It's in a canister. It does have a bit more sugar, but I use Water instead of milk so the carb total is low. And to me, this one tastes the best. For ME, if i'm going to indulge in something now (and for the rest of my life) I am going high quality.

Helpful And Motivating
doxieville replied to Cookiemonster73's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Just remember: this is a marathon, not a sprint. I started to get impatient until i figured out why. All other diets I was in a hurry bcs I was afraid i'd give up, lose my motivation, before I'd lose all the weight. And i usually did. I haven't gotten that feeling w the sleeve. I am taking advantage of this time to learn to eat and love myself again. And at 51, I have a LOT of years to make it up! -
Yep! I sure have been. From what I understand, biotin helps w regrowth, not hair loss. And I only was lacking Protein for 5 days post op. So, I did everything right!! Doxies are so unique. Wire hairs are usually totally clowns! I prefer the LH's 'mostly' mellower personalities.

Things Tummy Doesn't Like

hair loss can be from anesthesia, mal-nourishment, and/or trauma to the body. Nutrients are used for major organ functions first so the hair suffers. I'm already planning to get a wig. Try to embrace this. If you are really worried, get a wig now and start wearing it once in awhile. Then when you really need it, people won't be so shocked. I'm thinking of getting my hair cut short and going wavy/curly. I figure that way the bald spots won't show as much.

Things Tummy Doesn't Like
doxieville replied to lasuber's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I swallowed my gummy Vitamin whole this afternoon. By mistake. I forgot it was a chew and took it like a pill. My tummy is NOT happy. Having some warm hot choc to hopefully help melt it. Lettuce, raw veggies and Water are still upsetting my tummy. Will I ever be able to drink water again? Thanks, Judy -
Use Your First Six Months Wisely
doxieville replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh wow. I really wasn't going to post on here. Was just mildly amused. Now i'm not so amused. Iggychic said exactly what I've been thinking. DO YOUR RESEARCH! No where ever have I read that people stop losing at 6 months, can live off their own fat, and can live on just Water for months. That wld throw a system into starvation mode so quickly. I call BS on this post. -

doxieville replied to magz010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Body fluids fluctuate. They really do. That's why it's suggested not to weigh yourself often. Once a week is plenty. As long as you are working your plan you WILL lose weight. -
