Yes, this is actually common. You can do a search on here for it. Our fat also stores hormones, so as we lose the fat, hormones get released. You may also find that your skin breaks out. Many of us went through a few months of pimply faces!!

White Fuzzy Tongue?
doxieville replied to CbelladonnaC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also try probiotics. Do call your doc tomorrow and let them know. If it gets worse they can give you a script for a mouthwash that will help it. -

Protein Shakes: Rtd Vs Homemade
doxieville replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! It's gorgeous!! And I only used 2 tblspns of blueberrles. I think it's bcs this is more dense than the RTD. I feel like a grownup drinking at the adults table. . I feel kinda silly that I didn't make my own until now. I'm really lazy in the kitchen. -

It's a type of paper bag that you can cook food in. It steams the food. Throw in your protein, veggies, seasoning and/or a sauce you like (not much, just enough for flavor.) Close the bag, put in oven and voila! 30-45 minutes later you have a wonderful, moist meal. They are usually where the paper items like foil & saran wrap are kept.

Fish is my go to easy meal now. I buy it frozen from costco. Put a piece in the frig the nite before or in the morning. By nite it's usually defrosted. Can pan fry w a little garlic butter. Wrap in foil w some grapeseed oil & thrown on the grill, or put in a parchment bag & baked. Or microwave. You can't go wrong. The same can be done w boneless chicken. If you can eat veggies buy frozen w no additives and mircowave while fish is cooking. Easier & cheaper than take out. :-)

Pain On Left Side When Moving
doxieville replied to cali4nan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good idea to be cleared by the doc when u have intense pain like that. I was told that sutures are stitched to the abdominal wall and when it pulls that's what hurts. Try a heating pad & light massage. The stitch has to dissolve and then it will stop hurting. -
August Sleevers Want To Unit?
doxieville replied to doxieville's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey amykins! I think i've seen you around the forum. :-) Imabear: i had it pretty easy. I was one of those whose doc did a long postop diet. It was about a month before I ate solid food. So when I did, I was ready. I've never overeaten, have never hurt my tummy or sleeve. I do eat something every 2-3 hours bcs I get hungry. And I am back to eating my pre-surgery pace. It doesn't take me long to eat. The only issue l had was 6 weeks post-op my gallbladder had to come out. That slowed down my weight loss a bit bcs I couldn't exercise. It's a great life, being a sleever. -

How To Sleep? Suggestions?
doxieville replied to AngelEyesInNJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I THINK its a combo of the anesthesia and our bodies saying WTH happened to me!!! I had insomnia for the first 2 months. I'm better now but still wake up in the middle of the night. I'm reading more now than I ever have bcs there's not much to do at 3 am!! -
How To Sleep? Suggestions?
doxieville replied to AngelEyesInNJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pillows!! Prop up your belly so it's not sagging down and pulling on the drain & incisions. Put a pillow under your knees if you are laying on your back. It will relieve the stress on your lower back & belly. Make the room really cold and pile on the blankets. Put a warm washcloth over your eyes. Try to get yourself in a meditative state. I will also mention that for some reason insomnia seems to be common after this surgery. Hang in there! -
When Do People Notice?
doxieville replied to sramos89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, it's the clothes for the most part. But I've been losing inches from the extremities first. My wrists, shoulders, feet & calves have gotten skinny while my middle is about the same. So it's also where you lose the fat first. -
Sugar Free Candy
doxieville replied to mrs sandy r's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, it's my one treat that I enjoy and doesn't led me down a path of eating more. I happen to really like the way Atkins bars taste, so I allow myself one a day. Now if I were to eat Pasta or potatoes, then I'd be in trouble with cravings. I'm 3 months out and it's really been this past month that i've been able to see what works for me and what doesn't. Yummy Protein bars w real sugar sent me down a path of craving carbs for a week. That was NOT fun!! -
When Do People Notice?
doxieville replied to sramos89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For those of you who live in cold areas & wear jackets & sweaters during the winter, I bet it will be fun to see people's faces in the Springtime! That will be fun. I lived in PA for 20 years and many a pregnancy was in full bloom when jackets came off!! LOL!! Yes, absolutely ultimately we are doing this for ourselves. We have to be! Those people, even our loved ones, don't see the difficulties that we are going through to get healthy. So yes, it is for ourselves. But that sure doesn't mean we can't enjoy the look on peoples faces & congrats. I had my hair done yesterday. I'm 50 pounds down. Been going there for 9 years. People know me. My hairdresser knows I had WLS. Not one person commented. It kinda stung my ego a bit. But I also realized that people are hesitant to compliment because that means they are admitting that they know you were fat. So it can be a conundrum!! :-) -
Sugar Free Candy

I eat it. The sugar alcohol doesnt count. But be careful!!! It can be hard to digest. It can give you gas & has a laxative affect. -
When Do People Notice?
doxieville replied to sramos89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've lost 50 pounds and people barley notice. I think it has to do with how much weight we carried in our face (i didn't) and how we dress/dressed. I was very good at knowing how to disguise my middle section of fat. -
What does that mean? I've read that on here often. Where people 'develop a restriction.' What about 'stricture?' Thanks!!
-
I was 205 & change last week. This week 203 on the nose. I ate very low carb and that seems to be what works for me. I have a doc appt on monday & hope to be finally cleared to go back to the pool.
-
So you can feel a restriction if you have a stricture. Got it!!! Thanks!!!

Has anyone eating foods from this place? Thanks!
