When were you sleeved? Remember, during surgery they strap down your arms and wrists so they could be a bit sore. And weird sleep patterns are pretty similar after surgery. Try melatonin or call your doc for sleeping pills.

It took me about 4-5 days. And when i did go on my side i'd prop/support my belly with a small pillow so gravity didn't pull it down.

When Did You Eat Pizza?
doxieville replied to Lollyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ummmm....in the other post you are talking abt not losing fast enough? And now here you are asking about pizza? I'm not trying to be critical, but did you get pre-op counseling? Do you have a NUT? To answer your question: most people can't handle breads until 6 months or so For losing weight and working your program? That's up to you & your nutritionist. Good luck -
Not Much Weight Loss
doxieville replied to Lollyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not to be mean, but the best theory is NOT to compare yourself to others. That's just not the way to go about handling your 'new life.' Nobody else lives in your body but YOU. Your weight loss is great and when would you ever have lost that much in such a short time? Please don't compare yourself to others. That's just asking to be depressed. :-) -

Magnesium 500Mg For Bm's
doxieville replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know!! It's amazing. I also take 1-2 fiber gummies, depending on how things are flowing. I also alternate iron & calcium so I don't take both on the same day. I get plenty of both doing it this way and haven't been constipated anymore. Thank goodness!! -
If you are having issues with your bowel movements, try adding Magnesium to your daily Vitamins. I don't even have to take Miralax anymore!!

40 Lbs First Month Now What's Happening?
doxieville replied to Goodgonebad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 oz? Not to be mean, really, I am not trying to be mean. But if you are tracking daily oz's you need to stop. I do weigh myself everyday. I do it just to put myself in the mental state of reminding myself that I have 'new' life.' But it goes up and down within a few pounds. That's normal. -
November 5Th Sleevers?
doxieville replied to keri2142's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where is the incision? The one above my belly button was like that. It's a more sensitive area. Any pus? Is it warm to the touch? Inflammed around the edges? Any red streaks? Any fevers? If no to all, then try warm moist compresses 3-4x a day. Always call your doc w any changes. -

New Topic Suggestion.....
doxieville replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sure, it's a great topic. Esp with the long timers adding their comments. But.... A lot of us are over at My Fitness Planner and we view each others diary and make comments & support each other. It's helpful and keeps us (me at least!) honest. -
SkyPaw, that sounds like fun!! My husband (the shopper in the family) is going to look for it. Thanks!!

I belong to Lifetime Fitness and plan to get back into swimming in 2 more weeks. Still need my gall bladder incisions to heal. Can anyone who has a trainer give me a price estimate? I'm trying to decide if its worth it or just stick to swimming. Thanks!
-
Thanks everyone! I got cleared to start exercisng slowly. So i think i'll walk this week and then next week wander into Lifetlme and talk to someone about a trainer.

Does anyone have a carb count for the green chicken? It sure looks yummy.

Yep! I'm 51 and my face looked like a teenagers for a few months! It wasn't fun. I'm 3 months post-op and my skin is all cleared up again & periods normal. I'm sure menopause is right around the corner though....

Protein Shakes: Rtd Vs Homemade
doxieville replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! I'll start looking around. Btw, its an hour later & i'm STILL drinking my shake. I'm impressed with myself; if i may say so myself!! :-) -
I'm 3 months postop on tuesday. Up until today i've used the RTD shakes from costco or Chike powder. I decided it was time to make my own. I used vanilla whey, a tsp of white choc pudding, 2 tbspns Fage Yogurt, 1/4 cup blueberries & filtered Water. Holy toledo! Tastes great but what a diff feeling it is in my sleeve. I've barley made a dent in it and I'm full. The RTD's I can guzzle in 5 minutes. Hmmm...interesting!! Just thought i'd share bcs I know that some of you only use RTD's also. Maybe the homemade version will help me stay fuller longer?
