Holy Cow! "about Time" Protein Shake -- Wooo Hooo!
doxieville replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cottage cheese? In a protein shake?? -
Honestly, I'd go back to the basics. Ms. diva has a boot camp, or pouch test, or something like that. It helps people kinda reset themselves. I'm sure someone else can give you more info. And yes, our stomachs can hold more as we get further out, which is why it's so important to do our homework and learn how to eat correctly during the time when we are restricted. Good luck!

Tender On The Let Side
doxieville replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing that I've noticed about gallbladder symptoms: everyone seems to be different. Some people hurt on their backs, some people feel like they are having a heartattack...some people get nauseous. It's the radiating pain that makes it hurt in diff spots. Since WLS makes us vulnerable to gall bladder issues, just keep that in mind. However, if I remember correctly, you lift weights? My instinct tells me that maybe you pulled something? The sutures take months to dissolve. Of course, as always, you should consult a doc if things get worse. I know that you know that i'm not a doc, am not pretending to be a doc, and am not giving you medical advice, just my theories. But others may think I am trying to play doc, so just setting things straight. -

7 More Days Til Puree!
doxieville replied to sunshyneqtie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 months postop and can eat anything. Believe it or not, I kinda miss the early days of restriction. Now it's definitely more mental restriction than physical restriction. -

Do you still have your gall bladder? -
Funny Smelling Urine?
doxieville replied to irish1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get your urine checked, like the other poster said. If all is good, then it's probably your body eliminating chemicals that were given to you at the hospital. Anything from antibiotics to vitamins can make urine smell, esp if you aren't drinking enough to dilute the smell. -
I Need Help Please!

Long, extended periods of overeating does. I'd suggest that you do a search on here for this topic. It's often been discussed and you'll find some good info. It's really hard to stretch. But that doesn't mean as time passes that the sleeve will stop you from bad food choices. It still requires discipline. I am 3 months out and can eat much more than I ever expected. If i don't fill up on protein first, I find myself making bad food choices.

I have Hashimotos disease also. So I was shocked when my dosage went down. I'll never be off of it completely though.

doxieville replied to mdonaldf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start taking miralax. I used to divide the dosage in am/pm. But at 3 months out i just take a magnesium pill & 2 gummie chewies- not something you can take yet. -
When Did You Eat Pizza?

LoL! Thanks Iggychic!! -
Ok, what happens is the app 'times out'. I can be posting or signing on. It says 'Error: connection time out' or something like that. Then the screen goes black and never changes no matter what I do. I have to delete the app and download again. Hopefully the new upgrade will fix this bug. Thanks!! Judy

I've had it since i was 13 yrs old. (Am 51 now.). I would suggest that every 3 or 6 months that you get your levels checked. I'm 3 months out and have lost 50 pounds. My dosage is now less. :-)

Do Non-Sleevers Eat This Much Protein?
doxieville posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand the whole theory of needing protein to stay full longer, and eat protein first because we fill up quickly. But as we start to eat normally & in maintenance, is protein intake at such high levels still so crucial? The wonderful threads about 'eating normally' got me thinking about this. -
I was told to wait at least 6 weeks before swimming. The skin at the incisions is healing and weak and germs and bacteria can seep into the weaker areas. Ask your doc before you start swimming.
