Getting To 199.....
doxieville replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey....speak for yourself!!! I am as sane as they come!!!! Aren't I? Umm...I thought I was..... Actually, I don't think I have really stalled yet. I've had a week here and there where I don't lose, but I consider that normal, not stalling or as you say, adjusting (which really is a nicer word.) I am a slow loser, but I'm ok with that. I've pretty much lost 1-1.5 pounds a week and in my opinion, that's the healthiest way for my body to lose. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!! Gobble gobble. :-) -

LOL!!! You and your adjustments!! Love it! Yeah, it's a stall, oops adjustment....it just seems so much bigger because it of the starting number: 2 vs 1 (200 vs 100.). It's ALL a mental game!! -
It is very hard to read...but I figured different fonts & colors make people happy.....

Happy Thanksgiving!
doxieville replied to fluffylibra30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Enjoy your day! Do pay attention to every bite you put in your mouth. For many of us who cook today, I'm sure taste testing along the way was part of the ritual. Along with munching on leftovers while putting the food away. Maybe recruit others to clean up while you and a good friend, family member or even the dog, go for a walk. Start a new tradition! Just remember, every bite counts so make it worth it. Do not deprive yourself because this IS the way you need to eat for the rest of your life. Be healthy, successful and guilt free! :-) -
How Many Calorie's, Fats, Carbs, Sugars Are We Allowed?
doxieville replied to Mini Me Wanna~Be's topic in Food and Nutrition
I totally respect that you are a planner. But you need to realize that with this surgery a lot of planning goes out the window. Our tummies & taste buds dictate what you will be eating. It will be a figuring out as you go along. I would advise you to get one of everything. Don't stock up on anything pre-op because everything changes postop. And you won't be worrying abt carbs/cals intake for a few weeks. Contact all those place that people talk about and order samples. Don't try them till postop though! Good luck! -

Does anyone have an easy recipe for salmon that makes the salmon really moist? I can have fats, not many carbs. I tried to cook it with butter and it didn't work. Thanks!

Egadzman (love that name!) I dislike pink salmon. It's slimey. So I need it cook well, which yes, dries it out. I know, I know. It's not how you are supposed to cool/eat salmon. Btw, i'm not a sushi eater either. I won't get near slimey food.

Wow! You guys are the best! I'm going to try all of your suggestion. The mayo/parm mix seems the easiest so I'll start there. Iggy, we live in San Antonio so getting really fresh seafood is not easy. Don't pick your husbands brain yet, but I may come back to asking. Thanks again everyone!! Keep the suggestions coming. :-)

I wonder if the citrus helps. Thanks!

They freeze REALLY well too. I only use 1 wonton wrapper. It decreases the carbs for those of us who need to eat really low carb. I use lots of cheese to help bind the food.

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
doxieville replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone has done great!!!! Here's mine: Highest weight: 249 Surgery date: 8/21 Weight today 203 I'm losing slowly, but I am very happy with my post sleeve progress. I could probably kick ass more, but this is a permanent lifestyle change for me, and I need the habits I am developing today to still be here in my future. This isn't a 'fast fix' for me. -
Gall Stones Post Op
doxieville replied to gettinMeBack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my gallbladder out 6 weeks after I had my sleeve surgery. It was nothing that I did wrong or ate too much of. It just happens w WLS. I have had no side affects and no issues with my bowels. I'm happy to have it out! GB attacks really HURT and they can do damage if one gets stuck in a bile duct. -
