All Inclusive Vacation

GO!!!!!! The sleeve lifestyle is now your new way of living. You need to learn to adapt to all situations. Go, enjoy yourself. Take plenty of Protein powder & some Protein Bars if you feel that you can't control yourself for all meals. How much weight have you lost since you traveled last? I go to Vegas in February (anyone want to meet up?) and am excited about fitting in the airplane seat!! food will be all around me, but I will be in charge, not the food!! Enjoy!! -
Pinky, what a wonderful update!!!

Protein Hot Chocolate
doxieville replied to npm518's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gamer, what brand SF hot choc do you use? Can you tell me the carbs per serving? I use fat free nestles and it has 4 grams of carb per serving. I'm always on the lookout for something with less carbs. Thanks!!! -
Don't forget the power of magnesium. I add that to my daily vitamins and about 1tblspn of miralax and I usually go every day.

Sleeve Vs Bypass
doxieville replied to READY TO LOSE IT's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Great comments on here. I've also read that if people need instant feedback and a tighter 'control' to lose weight then the bypass is better because if you eat the wrong things or too much you get violently sick. Some people do get sick when they overeat with the sleeve, but it's not as drastic as it is with the bypass. Also, I've read a study that says if you get esophagus cancer or ulcers and you have the sleeve, then recovery is harder. With severe ulcers, the treatment IS the sleeve, so one needs to be careful not to abuse your new tummy. I don't really remember the details on esophagus cancer bcs it was a 'what if' scenario. And my real medical issues topped any 'what if's.'. Good luck!! -
Help, Vomiting Yellow Bile With Traces Of Bright Red Blood
doxieville replied to Globetrotter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am in agreement with everyone here. Sounds like gallbladder. You do NOT want it to have it erupt. I'm sorry abt not having health insurance. That does suck. But...the alternate of not getting checked out is worse. -
Today I was folding my clothes and noticed how small they are!! Granted, I still have 50 pounds to lose, but I've already lost over 50 pounds. I think my weight loss FINALLY hit home while I was folding my 'unmentionables!' :-)

Chad, i think i remember that you eat fish? Get the shrimp fajitas. Eat that and avocado. And pick either beans or a tortilla to eat, not both- too many carbs.

Help!how Does One Rid The Runs?

I read no imodium on here too when I was first sleeved. I asked my doc and he said it's fine. You can easily get dehydrated with diaherra. Please do ask your doc though. I suspect people say no to imodium because it might slow weight loss? -
When Do People Notice?
doxieville replied to sramos89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BOTH!!! It's so much fun to get patted on the back. It's a nice ego boast & motivator. But ultimately YOU are the one who matters and who you should please. -
When Do People Notice?
doxieville replied to sramos89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree 100% w CBT. I didn't show the weight in my face. And that IS where people look. For the most part people want to be nice. You'll have the nasty people and unsupportive family members, but the general population would be happy to acknowledge your weight loss. But it is SUCH a TOUCHY subject. Like complimenting an overweight woman on being pregnant. I've been told that I look good, healthy, happy...not one person has complimented me on my weight loss. And that's ok. I'd rather look happy & healthier to people than suddenly thin. :-) -
19Days Post-Op And Stalled
doxieville replied to NisaletOAM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, a 4 day isn't a stall. It really isn't, but I understand your frustration. This is for keeps though. You are relearning how to eat & be healthy, so try to pay more attention to that rather than the scale. It's hard, I know. I'm just 'getting it' at 3.5 months out. -
I have several size 20 & 22 jeans that are in great shape. Average length. A few lane bryant, some from Target & walmart. I'm going to take them to GoodWill in a few weeks unless someone wants them. I do ask that you pay me for shipping. Please PM me if interested, I won't remember to check in here.

Thank you ALL for sharing such personal stories. It really truly helps knowing that I'm not alone. It is hard not getting approval or congrats from someone who I feel should be the most supportive person in my life. Thank you. -
