When is your surgery scheduled? Honestly, I think you should contact your surgeon. Someone just had surgery and she had complications because of previous surgery & scar tissue.

Awesome! San Marcos is 20 minutes away. I'll go there after the holidays. Thanks!! Re your hair- it may thin out but it thins out all over the head. The only place that it showed in my head was the part. As you could see in my other post, my hair doesn't look thin. So you should be ok. I think people who start with thin hair have a harder time. Just remember to stay hydrated & keep your Protein intake around 80. :-)

....all the above and massage your scalp to stimulate new growth. It's inevitable. If it's gonna happen it's gonna happen. :-( I had long thick hair and was losing it in handfuls in my 3 & 4th month. I chopped it all off and it stopped falling out. Probably coincidence, but it looks great!

I am just about done 'shopping' for sizes in my closet. I will need to get new clothes soon. My question to all you shoppers, how do I pick a new style? I am not a 'clothes horse' and don't like to shop. But I don't want to buy crappy clothes and have a wardrobe full of clothes that i won't wear. I'm like Rootman, i'm enjoying my extra closet space!! I'd appreciate some shopping tips! Thanks. -

OMG! I HAVE SO SCREWED UP!
doxieville replied to Jessica9190's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel for you! I really do. I can see me in that position. But wait a minute..did you know that the sleeve was originally created to deal w stomach ulcers & cancers? So you don't have to say that you lied. Just say, oh, btw, the surgery to fix ulcers is also WLS. Good luck, whatever you do! -
DeeDee, while it's not magic and it does take work, it sure is a magical feeling! It really is. Here's a couple of pointers: -measure yourself now. If you wait, you'll regret it later. - take a picture with an outfit. Save that outfit and every month take a photo in that outfit. I SO wish that I had done this. Other people on here have and it is so cool to see the progress. -put your scale away if it is messing with your head. Pick one day to weigh and stick to that. We have a 'super saturday weigh-in' thread. Why don't you join that? - even if you do end up being a slow loser, you should remember something really important: you are truly learning HOW to eat and that will make you a success for the rest of your life. It's cool and yes, I often feel jealous, when people lose weight so quickly, but you are learning right out of the starting gate how to eat. :-)

For folks 3+ months out or those with a stricture - Need some opinions fast
doxieville replied to LizInTexas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Liz, go get it checked out. At 3 months you should NOT be having nausea. Never mind not being able to eat. Trust your gut!! Call your doc NOW. -

Oh boy, yes!! I can so relate!! I am very cool headed. But I remember vividly freaking out and posting on here around week 2 or 3 asking if the surgery ever failed anyone. People here held my hand and brought me back to sanity. I've lost 50 pounds, so it does work! Lol. But I won't lie to you. For some people the weight falls off, for others, every pound is a hard earned victory. That's how it has been for me- each pound was a bit of a struggle to lose, but I am losing. So even in your darkest days, keep working the program and the weight will come off!! :-)

Ok, I am officially insane!
doxieville replied to buttrfli1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay!! You aren't 'officially insane' anymore!! Lol! I'd suggest you go to the forum on here and look up Protein shakes. Or is it called drinks & Protein powder? Something like that. Under food & Nutrition. There are all kinds of ideas and recipes. And ask questions there for suggestions. Lots of 'foodies' hang out there and can help guide you. Every one has different taste buds, even yours will be diff post-sleeve. So experimenting is the best idea. I made some pretty gross shakes when i was first sleeve. Bleah!! Good luck!! -

....and here we go. This is exactly why people won't post. The perfect example. Because there is always someone who wants to pick a fight. I'm not even going to try defend my post because it would be a waste of time. OP- that is great that you bought stuff today. Just be careful, your esophagus is still swollen and your sleeve is tender. Do you have Protein shakes to supplement your protein? It's really important to get about 80 grams of protein a day. If you aren't sure what your total ends up being, try an online program like 'My Fitness Planner.' And drink your water! You don't want to get dehydrated and it helps with constipation. If you find that things are getting 'backed up' try miralax or milk of magnesium. Keep up the good work!
