Hi! My surgery is Tuesday (Dec 4) and I am freaking out (hence why I am on this site at 1 am)!!!! I can't stop thinking of everything I have to do tomorrow and all the what ifs about something going wrong. I know I CAN'T back down now....but I am a wreck. I just keep trying to remember this is so important for my future and my little girl. I am trying to read all the positive stories and keep perspective. GOOD LUCK!! Hi all. I got final approval today from insurance (relatively quick and easy) and my surgery is next Tuesday (in 4 days)!!!! Yikes!!! I will be in the hospital 2 nights. Any suggestions for what to take? I am so excited!!!

I start my 2 week pre-op diet this coming Tuesday (surgery date 12/4 as long as insurance approves).....my diet is 2 shakes and one meal (protein/fruit/veggie) meal a day. I can have sugar free Popsicles for snack. I am so excited and determined.....the biggest problem is we will be in Disney for the week. Any advice on how to really get a hold of this and do GREAT?? V

I know this is just going to spin like a pity party....and I hate pity parties....but I am having a horrible time today. I ant even look in the mirror I am so ashamed at how fat and ugly I am. I am in the middle of all my appointment and am Hoping for a December date....but it is getting to me so bad how bad I have become and it is effecting everything I doz

I meant to say it has been a week and I have not weighed. I am waiting until my next appt next week.

Thank you ladies for replying. Like I said....I just don't know why I can't get past these feelings. My surgeon has asked me to cut out bread, pasta, rice and sweets and I have done a really good job and can feel a difference in my energy level (it has been a week and I h net weighed).....but I still hate myself every time I see myself in a mirror or reflection. I am even considering breaking off a long term relationship because I just feel so worthless all the time. When will this go away?

I know this is a really strange thing to ask....but I am embarrassed to ask anyone else. I have been researching and have decided on VSG (my first appt with the surgeon is 9/20)....and I feel like since I have made this decision I am so happy and excited for a real chance to succeed this time with weight loss....BUT I also feel like since I made the decision I can't stop eating. I feel like I eat all the time and just stuff myself. Is this just my head "hoarding" food?? I feel like an idiot. I would appreciate any feedback.

Hi all! This is my first post...but I have been reading and learning for a while. I have been studying about the sleeve for months as I know this is my answer. My Dr has his next info session Sept 20 and I am so excited to get started. I was just wondering how long it really takes from your dirt visit or session until your surgery? I have already called my insurance to see what all I need to do to be approved....not just waiting for time to speed up!!!! Any info or advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Peggy! I am so happy for you that you have such a supportive husband. You put tears in my eyes. Everyone deserves to have someone love them that much. I feel the same way about not telling anyone. In my opinion this is your personal business and you get to chose to tell the world or not one soul (although I wouldnt recommend that...it would make for a horrible recovery). I wish you the best of luck and hope to see amazing results after October for you!!!

How far post op are you??? Have you seen great results?

I do know the wait is worth it...but so hard! My colleague at work got approved ( we have the same insurance obviously) so I am just grateful that I is possible I will have financial help!!!

Kimmy....do you mind if I ask what insurance you have? I have United Health Care and have been told they are good for this. thanks so much!

Hi! I am also 5'2 and I weigh 221. My BMI is 40 and am in the beginning phase of this surgery process...but this is a very common BMI that I have seen on this site and this is what my insurance requires with no comorbidities. This is NOT healthy (I am speeking for myself) and I want to be a much better role model for my 5 yr old daughter. I know I am making the right decision!!! Good luck!!!
