I'm feeling really blessed, My youngest son went back to college. My oldest is coming back stateside from Japan with my first Granddaughter. I am looking forward to seeing her in person again. she only knows me lately as this person on face time. Lol... Step one... Continue healing... Step two doc clear me to pick up a small child. Step three do something different with this hair... Looking thru hair style magazines for a cute short relaxed hair style. I am taking 7500 biotin. And I do a deep conditioning treatment with Olive oil hair mayonnaise just in case the hair starts thinning. step four get on the plane and go visit my son, daughter in law and grand daughter. After all that's what I did the the surgery for... To be around to see the young ones coming up.

And one more thing I wish some had told me to do. SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS! when you start your property diet and you get your lists of all the stuff your doctor tells you to eat prior to surgery. And if you do like me and by some more of that stuff for after the surgery cause you feel you might not want to go to the store during recovery. And like me you buy protein shakes, sugar free pudding and jellos and I whatever. Not saying it will happen to you but my taste buds changed after surgery and 80% of those flavors that were acceptable before surgery I couldn't stand afterwards. I am stuck with stuff that will have to be disposed of. If I had of kept my receipts I would have been able to return the stuff or exchanged it for flavors Iike post sleeve. SAVE THOSE GROCERY RECEIPTS

..... and other good news... I can eat purees! I learned how to poach an egg... And I learned I do like 1% lactaid cottage cheese if I put a teaspoon of pizza marinara on it. :-)

Hi everyone just would like to drop a tidbit of info as you are going through your sleeve process. I am 16 days out from my surgery. I had my 2 week appt yesterday. It never occurred to me that the hospital would do a biopsy on the part of the stomach that was removed and there would be a result from that lab. Well if I found out I have H Pylori Causes and will have to take a two week course of two different kinds of antibiotics 3times a day to rid myself of this common stomach bacteria. (most people don't even know they have it) I also was informed the pills are quite large. Which if you have been sleeved, can be quite a challenging to say the least. In hindsight I probably should have gotten a endoscopy instead of an upper gi. I had a choice and I chose not to have a camera stuck down my throat to look into my stomach for fear of gagging but I heard that is a definitive way to check for it with a tissue sample. If you have frequent gastric reflux or ulcers or any stomach issues make sure you get this tested from your blood. At least this way you get the antibiotics BEFORE the surgery and not after when it is difficult to swallow large pills. Google H Pylori.... I didn't even know it was such a thing. On the positive side... Thank goodness they didn't find anything else.

Sometimes things that you really want to do not come easy. Thanks Ballermom for showing us that tenacity it sometimes takes to get this process moving along. You will need that strength of character along with positive thinking. Make sure you have supportive friends around and do not put stock in fake friends who only try to tear you down after your procedure. Be strong because you will still have to interact with those who like to eat and can and will eat(this procedure does not put you in a bubble) the sleeve keeps you from eating to much at one time but the sleeve does nothing for the head(that's all you baby!) so all my fellow sleevers and believers by all means keep it on straight and know what you are determined to achieve and don't let anything break your spirit. To each and everyone out there...A healthy mind, A healthier body and a healthy belief in prayer. My husband converted one of the rooms in our home to and home gym with flat screen tv and receiver and speakers. He also put Apple TV in there so i can watch all my favorite music videos and listen to my music. I been blessed this Christmas and I know he really wants me to succeed and is really in my corner. I can only use the treadmill right now (only 13 days out) but I am getting more stamina and when I use it I see results. Since I started pre-op diet size 24 BYE size 22 BYE and size 20 I am on my way to looking in the rear view mirror at. I went from a 3X up top to a XL. Yeah I smaller up top and I got that sista kaboose if ya know what I mean. Just the way I'm built. I may sound like I am tootin my own horn but I've wanted this for a long long long time. And I couldn't any other successful way to go about getting this weight and high blood pressure and diabetes issue to be a thing of the past. Y'all keep ya eye on it and believe in yourselves cause if you don't who else will?

I too was suffering from bad nausea...then I remembered my doctor had prescribed me anti nausea Meds one is called phenergan. I took 10 ml of that and 15minutes later I was nausea free and able to get my liquids in. Please if you are suffering from nausea get back to the doctor and have him prescribe you something for it. I would not suggest phenergan if you need to drive it has a sedative affect. But get something please no need to suffer.

The program is self paced so you are free to schedule the appointments to fit in your schedule. I started the program Sept 5th and I consider myself pretty motivated to get it done as soon as possible. I am now waiting on the surgery date. I have been treated with respect and kindness throughout my journey. Good luck on your journey. Btw this forum is a great info tool to ask and learn different techniques to be successful adjusting to the sleeve procedure.
