It's not to long of a process. Thing that takes the longest is all the things you have to do before surgery such as all the health screenings and such after that it was a breeze hang in there sister you will be sleeved before ya know it. And on your new journey:-) -

Southern Illinois here (Herrin ,IL ) to be exact. Had my surgery done by New Life Weight LOss Center, Dr. Ahuja did my surgery:) -
So tomorrow marks 3 weeks post op for me . I have been back to work since 5 days post op and been fine. Had trouble with dehydration and was able to overcome that by using a straw to get my fluids in of course i know you aren't supposed to use a straw but my doctor said if i was able to tolerate it without a problem then it was ok. Now my biggest problem now is pure exhaustion I feel as though someone has sucked every ounce of energy from me. I have been on a multivitamin since coming home . I just started taking b12 last Thursday. I picked up some vitamin C and ,calcium, iron. As requested by my doctor when will i start feeling better i have 4 kids,4 dogs ,and a husband who is like a 5th kid lol I feel nearly useless when I come home from work.My job is not real demanding ,the pay is great . I take care of an elderly lady . Basically all I have to do is put her on her bedpan transfer her from bed to wherlchair, cook meals and dishes thats it... Anything else I could add to the equasion that would make me feel better?thanks in advance.. On the plus side i haven't had pain since surgery .I am also doing great with no probs on this pureed diet and have lost 22 pounds since surgery and now officially off my blood pressure meds:)

Getting Enough Liquids In ? Help!
HattieSue posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So i have been having a very hard time getting in my fluids. I was sleeved 8/21 and here is my problem I can't stand to drink just water . I would love to drink something with flavor my problem is I cannot drink anything with aspertime . It causes me to get a severe headache and stomach ache . So pretty much rules out the crystal light packets. And most of the other packets to add to water. I don't want to drink juice because of the sugar content in them and carbs. Anyone have any idea what I can drink I am only consuming about 32 oz of water a day and i fear im going to end up in the hospital on IV's if I dont get something figured out. I dont want to drink to much broth because of the amount of salt. -

Pep Talk! Was It Worth It?
HattieSue replied to jennlhp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1 week out down 17 pounds since surgery. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Don't worry complications dont happen often put your faith in your doctor he knows what he is doing you have more of a chance dying from complications with your health and being heavy than with this surgery so the benifits outweigh the risks :-) you will do fine mama. -
How much weight have you lost since your surgery? I was at 327 the day of surgery. I am now down to 310. I go see the doctor Thursday. I so cant wait till I can move ro pureed and soft foods. I am dying for some cottage cheese lol. I have noticed since surgery the areas I am really losing are my arms i have what I would call flying squirrel arms if I jumped out of a plane to sky dive I wouldnt need a parachute I could just activate these suckers and glide to the ground . Sadly my boobs are getting smaller too lol Where are you noticing the weight loss?

Sleeved On 8-21-2012 And Question (Cpap Users)
HattieSue posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I use a cpap I havent been religious about it in the past but when I had surgery they had trouble keeping my heartrate up it would dip between 35-45 and I was on oxygen it was recommended that I use my cpap when I get home. Well i found out the hard way that I cant do it. Causes alot of air in my tummy and makes me absolutly miserable so I am just not going to use it I was actually fine before surgery. Did anyone else hve that problem. On the plus side I am a week out tommorow from my surgery and down 16 pounds I am pretty excited about that! :-)
