I'm Scheduled To Receive The Sleeve Tomorrow 9/4
Angela777 replied to Iammrd81's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck! No worries, get a good night sleep and report back as soon as the surgery is over! Excited for you!! -
Scared to have my band taken out on Friday! I just hope it goes good and my band plays nice with my stomach so I can have my sleeve in 6 weeks!
-
Great job on the weight loss so far! Camping sounds like fun, like what you said just keep A LOT of options around! How long did you take off of work? Good Luck!

Band removal is in 6 days and now I am nervous. I have literally been eating a lot lately and I think it's from complete stress of getting this band off and NOT knowing for sure if the sleeve will work, not to mention if insurance will cover it. I really want to be HEALTHY, go running, go to the waterparks and be able to walk up the stairs without taking 5 breaks! This is not normal for me, I am normally pretty strong but I feel like I am breaking down and losing faith in myself. I dont want to be a negative nelly, really I don't but saying that I am scared of my failure and lack of control is just an honest step for me. I, ugh, I don't know. Here are some photos- What I was and what I am. I want to be that girl again!

Thanks! I 100% am and emotional eater!! I am so proud of you for your amazing weight loss. I really hope it does work, the band didn't so I guess I just feel I have two strikes. One for getting this big, one for the band failing and one waiting in the wings. Lol. I will do my best to think of your amazing weight loss when I doubt myself! -
Hi guys! I have Dr. Kemmerling and live in Green Bay! I was banded in September 2009 an am having it removed this Friday, then 6week wait for a sleeve, maybe! Excited to have someone close to talk to!!!!

Waiting For Approval What Do You Think Of My Chance?
Angela777 replied to ashley624's topic in Insurance & Financing
I also have the same insurance with the same requirements. When I first got banded it took only three days for the approval. I am having it removed and that also took three days for the approval. They are putting mine through insurance this week so Iam assured w/in a week or two it would be good to go. WITH THAT I would say w/in a week or two they should have word. With your 2 comorbities you should be good to go. Good luck!!!!!!! Keep us posted and add us as friends if you need anyone to talk to. Angela -
Hi I am Angela! I was banded in September 2009. Started out at 320 pounds and am currently at 280. Most of my weight loss was from pre-op, so needless to say I have NOT been successful. I am having a band removal on September 7th and I am very happy to have this band OUT. I have been struggling with the band and feel like a failure. I believe that I have made up my mind that I want to have the sleeve procedure! BUT I want to keep it a secret! I have been such a big failure that I am not sure I want to tell anyone that I am doing it, not even my mom! I wonder if I am the the only one who feels this way? It seems that everyone is so happy to share their journey with friends and family. I want to tell my husband and my best friend, that's it. I am so sick and tired of feeling like i'm being judged that maybe it's the best thing to do, not sure. I should be so excited about my new journey instead of keeping it a secret!!!

Thanks Everyone, you guys are great!

I am so excited for the night that I sleep thought the night! I am a snore box, bad, and I wake myself up all of the time. I didn't sleep worth a poo last night because my snoring kept me up. I am really looking forward to losing weight and being able to sleep on my back without the SNORE!

Snore-A-Saures Rex Oh To Sleep Sound Again!
Angela777 commented on Angela777's blog entry in Angela777's Blog
I was tested for sleep apnea and they said I was fine. My Grandma and mom both have a snore problem. It sounds like a grizzley bear is in the room sleeping, lol. I always teased my mom and grandma as a kid that they snored during movies and woke themselves up. They denied it and I just laughed, now I do it. Thanks for the Tylenol idea! -
TLP, I feel ya. Everyone seems to have to give their 2 cents about ME being able to lose weight. I can be here for you, friend me and we can chat through all of this! I really need support since I have decided that I am telling everyone I am going deer hunting with my husband the week I am off work!

Jsd2- Keep a positive fame of mind and go back to the basics. Good luck with everything!

Thanks guys! I think I have made up my mind to share in time. I also appreciate everyone sharing their story and what they have gone through, it helps to know that I am not the only one. I don't feel like such a failure now, I feel good about myself and my journey so far. I get the removal of the band on the 7th and 6 weeks later I get sleeved. Really thanks to all of you! I love this site!

Thanks! That is true, I just have to keep that frame of mind! I am not a fan of crazy mean family and coworkers. Thanks for the pep talk.

Pcos (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) And The Sleeve
Angela777 replied to Kimmyk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will keep you in my thoughts! Good luck, I can understand what you are going though! 4 years of trying shots, meds for this and that, and still nothing, it gets so frustrating. I hope that through this journey you are able to be parents! -

Pcos (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) And The Sleeve
Angela777 replied to Kimmyk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great question! I am 280 and was diagnosed with pcos 4 years ago. I have had so many issues with my period coming and not coming, hair growth and not being able to have a baby! I wanted this surgery JUST to help with my pcos and being able to have a baby. -
Just think of how good you feel when you were at your lowest weight. Do something good for yourself, change up what you were doing a bit to get back motivated! Try something like Aqua Zumba, it's fun and low impact but tones and it's a great place to make some new friends! You can do this!

Good Bye Band, Hello Sleeve
Angela777 replied to MyNameIsNatalee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am having my band removed on 9/5 I have had it for two years now, and have had nothing but bad luck. I am patiently waiting for my insurance to approve the sleeve!! Since my band removal was approved in one week, I am in high hopes that it will be approved!!!! Good luck to everyone on your journey! -
Honesty, I would stop. It is really important that you do, not only for your overall health but for your recovery. I was banded in 2009 and I smoked a pack a day, it was hard but for the recovery and overall health it was worth the quit! To answer your question, I don't think they would know or be able to tell by blood work, but they would most likely be able to smell it. Good Luck!!

Way to go! Keep up the great work.
