Eating To Fast
Eat That Frog replied to stokesmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem for the first month or so, but it did go away.It is hard to slow down and I still frequently have to stop mid-meal, put my fork down and take a minute to breathe. -
All Inclusive Vacation
Eat That Frog replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got back from a 7 day cruise and was able to keep my eating under control and actually lost 1 pound. By day 3 though, my stomach started protesting, I assume it was because of the amount of rich food. Thankfully, I took a box of protein bars with me and at that point had 1 a day for breakfast or lunch and that helped. I avoided bread and had mostly protein, and if there was something "bad" that looked good I had 1 or 2 bites of it. I didn't feel deprived and enjoyed myself. -
I checked with my surgeon's office and they said all Tylenol products are safe to take.

I Think I Am In Heaven!
Eat That Frog replied to Beaversla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
CFA soup is one of my staples for fast food. I eat the chicken and vegetables and avoid most of the noodles. Also Panera Bread has a Sonoma Chicken stew which is yummy. It is similar to the filling of a chicken pot pie but is not as thick. -
Focus on family and friends instead of food. Think about what changes you will experience before your next Thanksgiving. Good luck!

My doctor advised avoiding cereal for the first 6 months because the primary goal is to get in all of the protein required daily. I did purchase some Special K that is high in protein, and have had it a few times with no problems.

What Was The First Thing You Ate When Advanced To Puree?
Eat That Frog replied to Kim Ster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hated the puree stage. The only things that worked for me were canned soups in the blender (after picking out the noodles), applesauce, yogurt and scrambled eggs. The first thing I had was chicken, but after cooking it and then trying to puree it I was so over it I didn't even eat. -
Holiday Eating
Eat That Frog replied to giggles012980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going to eat mainly turkey and a bite or 2 of everything else. I think people are more likely to question why you only put a small amount on your plate than why you didn't clean your plate. As Lissa said, if quetioned tell them you are dieting, smile and then change the subject. Good luck with the in-laws! -
Good luck!

Me too! I have "only" lost 35 pounds and already can not stand to look at the wrinkles on my arms.

I had similar feelings for my first 4 - 5 weeks but it gradually went away. I had no interest in food and didn't think that I ever would again.

Can You Eat Red Meat?
Eat That Frog replied to mrs sandy r's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told no beef or pork until 6 weeks after surgery. -
That's amazing. The amount I paid ($17,500) included the surgeon fee and all hospital costs, I spent 3 nights in the hospital. Wonder if yours is cheaper because you are close to Mexico and they are competing with the Mexican doctors?

I think your feelings are normal and it will get better. At 4 weeks out all food disgusted me and I hated to even try to eat, drink or take vitamins. I am now 8 weeks out and feeling much better ever though I still have a way to go. Hang in there, you are worth it!

I signed a contract for twice a week for 6 months and it cost $60 per week plus tax.

Worried About Weight Loss At Age 56
Eat That Frog replied to becksnky's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery 1 month before my 55th birthday and feel like I am doing OK. I started my pre-op diet on the first of September at 255, had surgery 9/10 and am currently at 221. I have not exercised other than a little bit of walking, although I do plan to start at the gym when I return from vacation. The main reason I decided to have the surgery was due to osteo-arthritis in my knees and diabetes. I was at the point where every step I took hurt and I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life dealing with the pain and limitations. I wish I had done this years ago. I was self-pay. -

This should gradually go away as you start to add more solid foods. -
