First thing is stop smoking! Im over 36 hrs smoke free. Yay me!

Ok guys..... my date is march 1st. Im a smoker and i have to be nicotine free for 30 days prior to surgery. They told me they do a blood test to check so theres no way around it!! If they find it in your blood, they WILL cancel/postpone surgery. Im having such a hard time quitting!!! Anyonr else having this problem? I need support majorly!!!!!

Ok mine was a little different than most of these posts.... i went in expecting one session hour long, no big deal. I was wrong. It ended up being about a 6 hour lo g process in total with about 5 visits in all. I had to spend a couple hours with him, fill out about 4 test (one.being a 500 question bubble sheet) and i was really irritated with thw whole process lol i love counseling but not this particular experience lol he wrote a 6 page report on my "personality" after all this which i truely thought was an inaccurate statement about me in whole. HOWEVER i know this is not normal for.most psych evals. Apparently my insurance wants your entire life story on file lol i wish you the best and a better experience than mine!!!

Excited! Got approved today thankfully i already knew i would be so i wasnt worried but it makes it real lol i just have to do a sleep study this friday (surgeon required it, not insurance) then i think ill get my date for late feb!!

It seems like forever but seriously, before you know it youre approved. Its crazy. I think the steps are going to be totally worth it

Im having surgery in feb and have already told coworkers just bc im open like that. I was shocked how supportive they were!!! They ask me how my progress is going with pre req appts and such. You might be surprised when you tell them!

Idk how much support i can give you but im totally in the same boat!!!! I know.i have got to quit like yesterday but man..... its tough!

Hi guys. Im from hutchinson set to be sleeved by dr McAllaster at tallgrass in topeka in appox feb of 2013. How is everyone coming along? Ive done nut, psych exam (what an experience that was!) And now waiting on sleep study and results. Then itll be sent to insurance and surgery scheduled. Anyone else get jitters this early on? Lol

Wow i am so grateful for the encouraging words.... i seriously feel like you guys are my family that understands this journey. My family is mostly thin and pretty much all supportive of surgery but they dont GET IT. The embarrassing things we deal with..... seems like such a long journey thru all the appts before hand but im trying to keep my eye on the prize! Thank you all!!

Ok so i just have to complain and i hope someone can relate..... i sweat like a pig. All the time. Im out pf breath. Cant breathe when lean over to tie my shoes. Ugh!!!!! Just get so irritated! Can barely buckle my seatbelt in my car.......anyone have the same problems??

The most horrible thing happened to me this weekend.... my wonderful boyfriend took me to the state fair in my hometown. We were walking around and he wanted to ride rides. I was mindful of the ones with belts and decided against those to avoid the horror that ended up happening anyways.... we chose one and i agreed to it because i didnt see any restraints that needed to be used. I was wrong. Of course, i was one of the last ones on so there was an audience for it. The operator tried to hook the belt, tried a seat with a bigger belt and finally said i would have to get off the ride. Wow. One of the lowest moments...... i cannot wait till Feb 2013 to get sleeved!!!! Does anyone share this experience???

I finally feel like im making progress. This is such a long road!! I have my NUT appt tomorrow, psych on friday and i have to wait till oct 30th for a consult for a sleep study checking for sleep apnea before sugery. But at least the appts are scheduled!!

Wow thank you so much for your stories everyone.... so helpful to know i wasnt the only one out there!!! I seriously cant wait till approval comes and i have surgery. This life will be far behind me and ill never return. Although ill admit, relationship with food (or the loss of said) is a bit unnerving....
