A Tool for Dealing with Emotional Hunger
Sue Gaddis replied to donali's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the great information. I have been fighting with emotional eating myself. Sue -
Leatha, I never new about the cottage cheese test. I need to try that. However I do have a question for you. Why were you re-banded? Is this common? Sue
-
Yes, I could definately over eat before I got my first fill. When I asked the Dr. he told me that it was like I was not banded and wide open (not quite), but the fill definately helped. I agree with what Leatha says. Sue

I had my first 3 weeks ago at 9 wks out. I'm going for a 2nd one on the 15th. Sue

I used to have a problem with the water, but I drink it in the car on the way to work. I can usually get 24 in by then. Remembering not to drink with meals. Taking smaller bites and chewing well. Have had a few PB issues. Sue

You guys are hilarous. My husband had surgery on 7/27 and every time he moved he farted. He kept telling me that "My turn would come".

I also use Flinstone Vitamins. Or Centrum now has a chewable Vitamin. Good luck, feel better soon. Sue

I recently went into Therapy 2 weeks ago to get rid of the demons that have haunted me for years, and are part of the reason that I eat. There was a lady who came to our support meeting last month and talked about what triggers us to eat. We need to figure out the triggers, so that we can re-train ourselves to either eat something healthy. We need to train ourselves to eat things that are going to make us healthy, feed our body with items that it needs. Instead of items that aren't good for you.

I'd like to try this also. I won't be able to weigh until later today. I need to go home and find out how much the boot I wear (broken foot) weighs so that I can tell how much I weigh. Sue Surgery 8/19/04 Dr. Pleatman 299.5/296

M Yess, If you would consider walking after 3PM I would love to go with you. I live in Davisburg. However I may need to wait 3 more weeks as I have a stress fx on my left foot. Too much walking is not good for it at this time. Sue

I need to find one of me. I'm not really fond of pictures. It will be awhile before I have any after pictures, as I am only 11 weeks out and things are slow.

Cute hat. Thanks for the directions. Darcy I can send you a fleece one if you like. It's cold this am in Michigan also. Only 30 degrees as I left for work Sue
-
Nik, Congradulations just 24 hours or so and you will be like the rest of us. I'm new to this site also, I found it last Thursday and/or Friday. Let us know how the surgery went. Sue

Congrats Betty. Cold chicken is good in salad, that is where I usually end up with mine. Sue
-
Katie, I know how you feel. I had a major sinus infection and was sick when it was time for my fill. I got one 2 weeks ago today at 9 weeks out. Hang in there, you will have it in no time. Sue

Was looking for others who live in Michigan. I had the LapBand surgery 10 weeks ago. I'm loosing weight slowly, and learning how and what to eat on a weekly basis.
