It is a good thing to educate.... And I do it myself. But no one should feel compelled to share anything personal that they do not wish to.... And just because you choose to have the surgery, you should not lose your right to keep whatever health information you choose, private.

Sleeve holds too much food
jennyannk73 replied to angelamarie79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is funny isn't it. And if I eat too much my mouth suddenly over salivate which means I'm going to be ill. I've heard of people's noses running too, so there are so many signs...lol -

You will feel that full feeling in a few more weeks.... Mine didn't start really till month two ish. What you are reading is right, there is a lack of feeling that returns after healing.... My big clue was hiccups... I still get them when it's time to stop.... Lol -
Sleeve holds too much food
jennyannk73 replied to angelamarie79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on Oct 18. At times I can eat two eggs, sometimes not. My weight loss had been pretty good though so don't get to hung up on comparing to others.... That stressed me at first. There are too many individual factors that are involved but the biggest thing is that it WILL work, in the time that is right for your body. Just try to do your best to follow Dr's orders and you will be a success! -
Sleeve holds too much food
jennyannk73 replied to angelamarie79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same exact thing going on. , I really felt like I could eat more than anyone else, but after awhile that certainly changed. , I get full very quickly now! -
Really, whether it's a lie or not... it is absolutely no one's business unless you desire to share your private and personal information. Everyone's coworkers, family etc. are different, and while some will be thrilled for you, others will scoff and it and stab you in the back with depreciating gossip. Personally I don't give a hoot if someone feels negative about it. I am nearly 100 lbs lighter than I was a year ago so they can stick it where the sun doesn't shine (hehe). Most of those people are just jealous anyhow. But, unless I want to tell someone, it is soooo not their business.

I choose to tell everyone ( I didn't at first) but only because I wanted to be a positive force in educating others. That said, I totally feel that in truth, a positive remark noticing someones weight loss is acceptable and welcome, but unless they volunteer the info, asking how they did it is really a bit intrusive. And since we are broaching this topic, it is downright rude to perpetually ask someone how much they have lost so far. Just because you have the surgery it should not dissolve you're right to all privacy. No one liked being scrutinized when they were overweight and its just as intrusive now. This odds my only regret in telling all. Just being honest. =)

Appetite Back... With A Vengeance!
jennyannk73 replied to LawDiva312's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry about this.... I had the same problem but the throwing up began with a vengeance recently. I think honestly it has to do with your stomach kinda being numb post surgery. Now i get sick sick if i overeat. Or eat the wrong thing. Or one more bite after feeling full. I was able to eat more shortly after surgery than now. And now I'm paranoid about what I will put in my mouth..... -
Losing Weight But I Don't See It.....

You see yourself every day, but before long others will notice, and that will help you see it too! -

I agree. I was soooooo tired for the first full week post surgery. I can't even imagine trying to host a party of any size just a few days after.... -

October Sleevers-How Ya Doin?
jennyannk73 replied to Holly5.3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 10/18 and lost 10 on the two week liquid prediet and 15 more since. I will lose a couple then stall a few days and then lose a few more. Everyone should be very careful not to compare themselves to others though.... there are so many variables involved. I lost about 40 pounds before I started my official prediet, so I know my initial sleeve weight loss might be a little slower than some others. Either way though, I'm down 65 lbs and I can't tell you how fantastic that feels! -
Same for me, fish is my favorite right now. If you buy the parchment baking bags you can throw a fillet on top of a few soft veggies and top with lemon slices. This bakes up to make the softest most delicious fish that is really easy to tolerate for me (I baked mine with CANNED asparagus because it's so soft) and ate this over a couple of meals. Soooo good, and feels like "real food" but healthy and good protein from the fish. Yum!

Scrambled Eggs...
jennyannk73 replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had part of a scrambled egg in puree stage and it didn't go well. Went directly through me (sorry TMI) and I felt terrible. Yet most other foods (fish, mashed potatoes, sweet potato, and canned asparagus ) that I've tried have gone down without a hitch. Wont try the egg again for a while....
