Thanks for all the input. I have mg first follow up Thursday, and I'm going to ask him -
I'm 5 days post op.. I can't drink all my surgeon is requesting. I know I'm dehydrated, but I'm trying to hang in there. My taste buds have changed so much. When I was on the pre op liquid diet, I loved the chicken broth. Now, it's bland and has no flavor. Has anyone else seen a change in their taste buds? If so, what is it that you're able to drink it eat at this point?

Thank y'all for the replies and support. This site has been the best thing I've found so far. For some reason he told me no protein shakes the first week after surgery. My check up is Thursday and I'll know more then. Good luck to each of us on this new journey!
