How do you feel about getting hit on after surgery? I'm not talking about people we're meeting for the first time. But people we've known and have had friendships or some kind of relationship with whether it be work or personal or whatever. The people that we are meeting for the first time didnt know us before so what's not to say that they wouldn't have been hitting on us before. But someone we've known, all of a sudden you wanna take me out? 90 pounds ago I wasn't good enough to take out? I'm not sure how I feel about this. My personality is the same at a size 16 as it was when I was a size 24. Has anyone else encountered this? How do you feel about it and handle it? Sent from my iPhone using VST

Getting Hit On After Surgery
Lil Miss Ree replied to Lil Miss Ree's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I did it for both reasons as well. I completely agree that you need to be attracted to a person. They don't have to be the hottest thing since sliced bread but whatever attracts you to them has to be there. I've asked and you kinda end up getting this deer in headlights look and a bunch of stammering. They don't seem to have an answer. I don't hold it against anyone and I wouldn't end a friendship over it but I don't think I want to date you. Thanks for the input. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I was getting dressed today and bent down to tie my sneakers. Legs perfectly straight. Bent over and tied my shoes. Didn't squat. Didn't bend my knees. Not sitting on the bed. Just bent over. Leaned a little further. I can almost put my palms flat in the floor. Not yet. But almost. With my legs straight. Made me realize that last night when I was out, I bent over the same way to pick up the darts I dropped. It the little things in life. Happy Saturday! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Happy 3 Months Surgiversary To Me!
Lil Miss Ree posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Today is 3 months since i had my surgery and as of this morning I am down 80 pounds. I used to wear a size 24 tall and now I have on a size 18 which is a little loose. My shirts are a 1/2. Can even get away with an extrA large from some places. I blame that on the girls. Lol. I think I still have fat eyes tho. Lol. I try to see the new me but sometimes I still see the old me. It's getting better as the days go on. I think because it happened so fast I haven't completely caught up. Some days when the scale doesn't move I get this overwhelming fear that it has stopped and that's it. Makes me wonder sometimes how I passed the psych exam. Lol. I'm so happy and the ony thig I regret is not having done this sooner. First picture is day of. Then in between days and the last picture was yesterday. Never in my life would I have worn a fitted tank top with a short sweater. I have a shape and it's not round. I have a waist. Why didn't I get one sooner? As a friend pointed out to me yesterday, "look at that hour glass shape!". I couldn't be happier and I wish you all the same happiness and luck that I've had so far. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

I'm just about 10 weeks or so since my surgery (6/18) and in down about 66 pounds as of this past Monday. I know I've listing the weight. I see the scale moving. I know my clothes are too big. I know people are telling me I lost weight. There are little NSV that tell me I lost weight like ankle strap shoes fitting and my heels not hurting and driving my mothers car without moving the seat back to fit. But why when I look in the mirror do I see the same body I saw before surgery? Does anyone else feel this way? When did it go away? Does it go away? I can kinda see it in pics but I don't feel like its me weighing less so much as just the clothes that I'm wearing. I attached pics. I hope it worked. All black is surgery day, 6/18. Pink is 8/27. I Cleaned out my closet yesterday. It's very sad and empty looking now. I hope it gets full again soon. While cleaning out my closet, I of course tried everything on. I took pics in clothes that I had pictures of myself in when I was heavier. Finally, I can see a difference. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement. The black dress is may 2010 and yesterday. And the pink and black is almost exactly one year. My bday August 2011 and yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

That's what my mom tells me. When I buy new clothes, I'll notice it more. I've bought a couple of new shirts that fit or are now too big. But I'm having trouble finding pants. I don't know if it's because I'm between sizes or the way I'm losing weight but none seem to fit well. I just keep looking forward to the day I can walk info any store and buy something to wear. Thanks!! Good luck to you too. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

You are all my new best friends!! I'm 5'11. 6 foot on a tall day. I think I wanna be 185 but I don't remember 185 so I don't know how I'll look. I too feel like everyone is shorter and I can't get an idea of what to expect at a lower weight but you all helped a lot. Yayyyy for talk girls in 4 inch heels. Because let me tell you, I can't wait til my 4" heels can stay on lover than an hour. I'm getting there. My 2-3" work shoes no longer come off at work so I'm hoping my weeked shoes follow soon. 7 Months Out With Pics

I was sleeves 6/18. As of this morning I am 66 pounds down. I have not cheated. I haven't even craved a cup cake which was my all time fave before surgery. The only thing I crave now is cherry tomatoes. Which I strange to me since pre-surgery, I hated anything related to the tomato. Before surgery I had a medium moha iced coffee with skin milk from Dunkin donuts every morning. 2 or 3 on the weekends. Even with snow on the ground. (I hate eating or drinking anything hot). I haven't had once since before my pre-op diet. I tried everything I could. I went to Starbucks and got suar free syrup instead. No chocolate but I tried every other flavor tht was sugar free. It didn't do it for me. I bought sugar free Hershey's syrup. It tasted pretty good. I couldn't tell it as that free. U ordered an iced coffee with skin milk and put my own syrup in. The syrup clumped and tasted terrible. So I gave up on coffee. I've given it up for lent and I didn't die so I'll live. Until today. I couldn't resist. I went to get gas and the coffee was calling me. Taunting me. I gave in. But I got a small. It tasted as good as I remember if not better. I only drank half of it because I guess it was too much for my tummy. But it was soooo yummerific. My question is, is it so bad to have it once in a while if I am doing everything else I am supposed to do to the letter? I don't want it every day. It would be a waste because I'm not going to finish it. But once a week or once every other week? Is that too much sugar that I shouldn't have? I see my nutritionist on Wednesday so unfounded to ask her as well. But I'd like to know how iter people who are actually sleeved feel. Thanks. P.s. I'm sitting on the couch with my legs crossed writing this. I just needed to share that with people who would get what it meant. If it was 3 months ago, my legs wouldn't be crossed. ????

Mocha Iced Coffee
Lil Miss Ree replied to Lil Miss Ree's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I've tried getting an iced coffee with just skim milk and putting the Hershey's sugar free in myself but it got all clumpy and wouldn't mix well. And it tasted weird. Maybe a bad pot of coffee. I'll try it again. Maybe a different syrup brand. Sugar isn't the problem either. I don't use it in my coffee. Thanks for all the advice. Sent from my iPhone using VST
